[EVENT] ONCE MORE TO THE OPEN SEA

Situation: With Tu Vishan once more awake, hurried preparations are made for the departure from the continent.

August starts much the same way as July ended, cold and stuck, but within a day or so a change is evident: at night, the bioluminescence of Tu Vishan's shell begins pulsing, in a bright, specific pattern.

Deciphered, the pattern counts down, pointing to the 16th. The citizens of Keeliai have that long to prepare, to finish their business and make any farewells they need to, before Tu Vishan resumes the itinerant lifestyle to which he was so long accustomed.

The waking of the turtle means, broadly, joy in the city, and also a bustling sense of busyness, as people who had grown comfortable in the patterns of Tavimbi-and-Keeliai find it's time to go their separate ways and rush to get affairs in order. For all that it's a departure, it's hopeful, coming as it does at a time when the state of the city is shifting as well, toward something perhaps more unified.

Tu Vishan is awake. The turtle moves.

[ He's got a pretty honorable, protective soul, doesn't he? Bucky nods at length, then looks out again. ]

What's your name?

[purrns]

[So much so that it's sickening. He smiles, offering a hand.]

I'm Adrien.

[dislocked]

Bucky.

[ He reminds him of someone else, it's uncanny. He pauses. ]

How long have you been here?

[purrns]

It's nice to meet you.

[He genuinely means that, too. Meeting strangers wasn't exactly something on the cards for him before he came here. Not without great difficulty, anyway. ]

About seven months, now.

[dislocked]

[ Polite, too. Bucky smiles faintly at that and nods, quietly acknowledging that sentiment. ]

Same. [ Seven months. He can't imagine being here for that long. ] You don't miss home?

[purrns]

[That's...always a tricky question for Adrien. He misses his friends, his school, even his father. What he doesn't miss is his father controlling every tiny aspect of his existence. Here he's given far much more freedom than he ever thought he'd get.

And Ladybug is here. She makes everything much easier. Much brighter. But he knows they have a duty back home. That they have to go back and defend it.]

I miss Paris a lot, and the people in it. But this place has its perks. It's not all bad.

How about you?

[dislocked]

[ Good question. Bucky has to think about his answer -- he has mixed feelings about where he came from, but he had been on a mission to take back all that had been taken away from him. Here, however, it's easier to be out of his own head sometimes. ]

Can't complain. [ He says simply, looking out into the horizon. Anything else is just unnecessary. ] Has there been stories of the worlds this turtle's been to?

[purrns]

None that I've heard. Though I'm sure people who have been here a while have plenty to talk about.

[He's admittedly been so focused on learning about the evil that befell the turtle, that learning about past locations slipped him by. ]
