[EVENT | 4TH WALL] FIX IT FORTUITY | Feb 18-Mar 11
Characters: Everyone and anyone, including our visitors
Date: Feb 18, 2018-March 11, 2018
Location: This log can be used for anywhere to do with the fourth-wall event.
Situation: Many and various. There are a few starters in the comments below, or create your own!
Warnings/Rating: Please add warnings in subject headers as needed.
This year there's no sudden explosion to mark the influx of people. The weather is still faintly snowy, crisp and chill, and though there are days when the sun breaks through the clouds it doesn't do much to make things genuinely warmer.
Much like light slipping between the clouds, other Foreigners start slipping into the city, here and there. By this time the kedan and the anchored Foreigners know more than well enough what a Foreigner with no soul gem means, and by the time the third drifter has shown up it's considered sign enough for enthusiastic miniature pop-up markets to spring up where the snow is melting away, much like flowers.
Cheerful, profit-seeking flowers.
All the same, with the recent collaborations between Foreigners and kedan, the kedan are much more willing to look kindly on the newcomers-- at least so long as they don't cause too much trouble.
There's some speculation about what might be causing it -- the phenomenon comes earlier than it has before, not quite into spring yet -- but once objects start appearing and disappearing, it's safe to say the Dreaming can be blamed. As unpredictable as the Dreaming can be, this makes more than a few people relax-- at least it's a known unpredictability. The items that vanish are always of personal value, regardless of monetary worth, and they usually reappear later. And some items simply appear. Whether or not they'll stay forever remains to be seen, but it's always things with some emotional attachment, often which were on the mind or in conversation recently.
And often, the feeling of being watched, or that you've seen this thing before, no matter if it's impossible.

But really, the prospect of going on a tour with Lloyd makes up for all that, even if Colette had actually noticed the stares and attention she starts to get after tripping.]
That's what I thought. This way we'll know where to go so we don't get lost! I'm not sure where it goes first, but...it could be sort of like back home, traveling together to new places, right?
no subject
He starts leading the way, following after the guide.]
We wouldn't get lost! [Famous last words? Probably.] It doesn't matter where it goes first, we don't have any real plans.
no subject
[But that's what the guide is for, right? To make sure they don't get lost in their explorations as long as they didn't wander too far. Or something. They've never actually really done the tour guide thing, but it can't hurt to make use of it here.]
But ah, I guess that's true. I was mostly just figuring what to do next now I'm here when you found me.
no subject
[For now they'll stick with the guide and hopefully not get distracted by something they might see. Not that he's worried about getting lost inside a city, no matter how big it might be in comparison to what they're used to.]
We'll think of something. There's got to be an inn we can stay at for a while until we figure out what to do next.
no subject
[Just the two of them, it goes unspoken. But hangs in the air all the same. She still hasn't let go of his hands either as they talk, as distracted as she is with finding him again, with.....all of this.]
I'd think there'd be an inn. Or someone who could help us while we sort things at least. We can ask around after the tour?
no subject
[It had just been the two of them at the end, the others scattered to all corners of the planet and beyond. He doesn't know if they had gotten dragged along too because they were separated but it's okay. Colette is still with him so Lloyd doesn't have to worry about that much.
As for the hand-holding, he isn't too aware that she still has a hold on him.]
Seems like they're used to people popping up in their world so they've got to have somewhere we can stay the night. Maybe they'll show us during the tour.
no subject
[So she doesn't seem too worried. After all - Lloyd is here. So of course that means things will work out and they'll figure something. At least as far as Colette is concerned, with her unwavering trust and faith in her best friend.]
no subject
[Nothing they haven't done before so he isn't particularly worried. It's a bit chilly out so they'll have to start a fire and maybe get some blankets or cloaks to help keep warm. All something for them to worry about before it got too dark out.
But for now...] Come on, the guide is going to leave us behind.
[Lloyd takes one of his hands back, allowing Colette to keep the other and moving after the Kedan. Not so fast that his friend will end up stumbling over her feet again.]
no subject
[Colette is pretty simple to please, really. She knew even back home that there wouldn't always conveniently be an inn all the time they were traveling. So she doesn't mind if it is another night under the stars while they figure something, if it comes to that.
Still, she starts, flailing a little at their being so initially distracted. Colette is quick to rush to follow though, thankfully not tripping since Lloyd supports her and isn't too fast.]
