Situation: Trying to figure out just how this thing is going to work

Today, the Center is...not quite closed, because it was never closed, but the sign out front was a little more specific than usual: indicating that those who had chosen to align themselves with the Foreigners' Guild to stop by at their convenience for a group discussion. Word of mouth was the primary means of getting the information out, but just in case, Zatanna was nearby with a checklist making sure to get names of not only who showed up, but of any known members who did not. So that they could be contacted at a later time and kept in the loop.

For her part, the 19-year-old was sitting casually in her favorite armchair by the fireplace (though currently lit, was emitting very little heat, indicating a more magical nature. For ambiance, mainly) and not-quite-facilitating the entire process. Her body language gave little indication of wanting to step forward as official leader, although she was ready with answers for any who may have had relevant questions.

"I might not be a member of the Foreigner's Guild, Sonja, but the foreigners are still the closest thing to a family I can remember. I'm here to help, nothing more."

"Great. Can you tell everyone to actually care about the new guild?"

"I'm afraid my influence doesn't reach into the minds of others."

In reality, she had very little influence over any foreigner, she didn't feel the need to manipulate them.

"I think you could probably bully a few people into it if you put the effort in." That was a joke.

There is a slight smile at the joke.

"Perhaps, but I'd prefer not to, and I doubt it would go over well."

"Maybe if I said 'please'?" She tried to be as cute as possible results were mixed.

"With great power, comes great responsibility," Valdis replied, "Surely, as a potential leader of this guild, you know that."

[commandandcontrol]

"No one actually wants me to be the leader, so I can be as cavalier with power as I want."

[redlightgreenlight]

"Don't belittle yourself or your potential." Valdis scolded, "It's not helpful to anyone."

"I would argue I'm just being accurate."

[redlightgreenlight]

"It's still not helpful to anyone."

Valdis gestured around the room.

"Do you see any of them stepping up?" She asked, "Aside from Zatanna?"

"Zatanna isn't even stepping up... she doesn't want the Guild to have any leaders at all."

[redlightgreenlight]

"I think she'll come around," Valdis said, "She has been here the longest out of any of us."
