[Open Log] Don't you Worry 'bout a thing
Characters: Members of the Foreigners' Guild
Date: Beginning of May
Location: Welcome Center
Situation: Trying to figure out just how this thing is going to work
Warnings/Rating: none to start; will update if needed

Today, the Center is...not quite closed, because it was never closed, but the sign out front was a little more specific than usual: indicating that those who had chosen to align themselves with the Foreigners' Guild to stop by at their convenience for a group discussion. Word of mouth was the primary means of getting the information out, but just in case, Zatanna was nearby with a checklist making sure to get names of not only who showed up, but of any known members who did not. So that they could be contacted at a later time and kept in the loop.
For her part, the 19-year-old was sitting casually in her favorite armchair by the fireplace (though currently lit, was emitting very little heat, indicating a more magical nature. For ambiance, mainly) and not-quite-facilitating the entire process. Her body language gave little indication of wanting to step forward as official leader, although she was ready with answers for any who may have had relevant questions.
[[ooc: Characters are encouraged to make their own top levels for open-ended discussion of the state of the Guild; if any of them want to talk to Zatanna specifically, indicate in the subject level and she'll come around.]]

"Hey. I didn't know you were thinking of joining the Foreigners' Guild."
If anything, she would have bet money on the Justice and Arbitration, thanks to her work with Valids and the KPD.

She shrugged and reached for a cookie. Decisions like this were best made with delicious foods at hand.
"I'm kinda planning on doing what I've been doing still, except when I have to do something specifically Guild-related," Pepper added. "Thanks for putting this together."
no subject
"It just seemed like the right thing to do." She casually shrugged it off, despite a smile at Pepper's gratitude. "The Welcome Center was originally built to help Foreigners, right? So...makes sense we would all meet here to discuss our new Guild."
no subject
They still needed a representative, but with only a small number of them it would be easier to make decisions together. Hopefully.
no subject
"Yeah, no kidding." A certain incident and name came to mind, but until Pepper brought it up specifically, she wouldn't. "We definitely lucked out on that part. I think the big meet-up between all the Guilds in a few days will be very...interesting."
no subject
She shook her head, still smiling. "Think any super weird high crimes'll come up? Some of the laws around here are kinda odd."
no subject
"I'm kinda used to odd around here. You should've seen the days when we were participating in purification rituals and de-invisible painting sessions."
Okay, maybe it wasn't quite the same thing as Law (although the purification ritual in particular had been an important tradition she'd been proud to take part of. And had...rather entertaining memories of), but that was where her mind went to first. As for where it went to second...
"Hopefully they've gotten over the whole Foreigner kind of killing their Emperor thing by now, and won't be holding that against us when they start implementing any new Laws."
no subject
"Most of the Foreigners that are here now weren't around then, though, right? It'd be kinda dumb for them to hold the new people accountable especially." Which did not preclude the possibility of that happening, but there was nothing wrong with gathering logical arguments beforehand. "I wonder what that might mean for Foreigners who join other guilds, though. Seems like there might be a weird balance there."
