Situation: Dany's looking to hire some bodyguards.

[ She's worked with sellswords before, of course. Watched Viserys try to treat with them as children, and then later, as a woman grown and a queen, treated with them herself. She knows the steps of this dance.

But she misses Daario. The memory of his smug smile, the cruel glimmer in his eye, and the weight of his hands on her makes her heart ache. She misses him. Him, and steadfast Ser Barristan, sweet little Missandei, her handmaids Irri and Jhiqui, and even Jorah Mormont, her tough old bear. Yet she is here, alone.

She sets the tea to boil to prepare, and finds some food in the pantry that looks suitable (and easy to prepare), and waits for her guest to arrive. ]

[Amelia sighs a breath out her nose. Well, her first experience with him wasn't exactly the best. And somehow she'd like to believe this lady's reaction will be better. Primarily, though, she's worried for him. He's sensitive enough about this that if there is any adverse reaction, he'll feel it, and feel it sharply.]

[But this is what she's mainly there for, she suspects. Moral support. Teeth knifing into her lower lip, she watches him remove the covering, eyes flickering to Dany.]

[ To her credit, Daenerys hides her unease well, though not completely. It shows in the lines of tension in her hands, the rigidity of her shoulders. You are the bood of the dragon, she chides herself. Fire cannot harm you, and a stone man will not either. This frightens her, yes...

...but not for the reason Zelgadis and Amelia might think. ]

You suffer the greyscale affliction.

[ Her voice is not without compassion. ]

[That... was not what he had expected at all.]

[Amelia gave a startled blink herself, though caught on with the word "affliction."]

It's not a sickness! [A small flush.] He's not sick.

It's a spell. His grandfather did it. [Or was it his great-grandfather?] His grandfather did it without his permission, then wouldn't change him back.

[Her mouth firms.] But it gives him a lot of strengths, too, and it doesn't change who he is as a person, so it's your advantage to take him on. He's a good swordsman and a good sorcerer, so. Yes.

[Someone is maybe just a little protective after all.]
