and the day keeps on worrying me
Characters: Percy, Mrs. O'Leary, and YOU
Date: April 9-10
Location: Both Atam and Keeliai. Pick and choose where you want to run into him!
Situation: Percy has a giant hellhound who likes to lick things
Warnings/Rating: IT'S A GIANT PUPPY basically G-rated.Except for Percy and Annabeth oops
[It's no secret that Percy has been in a terrible mood lately. Between everything going wrong on the turtle and what's waiting for him and Annabeth back home, it's difficult for the usually upbeat demigod to maintain a positive attitude. Percy tries to be a source of positivity for the others, but he's still a teenager with the world on his shoulders, so some moodiness is expected.
Except for right now. Because right now, Percy is seated comfortably on the back of a giant black dog - literally, she's about the size of a rhino, or maybe a small elephant. He looks relaxed in a way he hasn't in weeks as he chats to the hellhound; Mrs. O'Leary doesn't really look like she's very interested in what he's saying, tongue lolling out and dribbling drool on anyone who happens to get too close as she looks around the surrounding area. There's a kind of barely restrained energy in her form that says the only thing stopping her from bounding around like a maniac is Percy's presence on her back.
He's not sure how Atam feels about a hellhound in its midst, and the kedan don't seem to happy about her presence in their streets, but they're too intimidated to actually approach the beast of a dog just yet. Besides, she only knocks over a few things, and Percy apologises right away.]

It had something to do with wanting it too much, wanting her...or not being sure if that was okay, what with the whole Tartarus thing hanging over their heads. Kissing her now, both of those reasons seem like bullshit to Percy. Which is strange, because they had seemed so legitimate before...]
Annabeth. [The name is murmured against her lips as he deepends the kiss; he can't seem to help himself]
no subject
[She shudders a little when he says her name, instantly matching his intensity; a small grumble-growl escapes the back of her throat, as she maybe even tries to one-up him.]
[There's some thoughts of Tartarus, they always sort of creep in lately, and maybe that's part of why she's kissing him so hard. But it's also the fact that they haven't really done this since before she saw it happen. After a little, she needs to pull back - she needs to breathe, however reluctantly. And it's with delay that she says his name in return, breathing heavily.] Percy.
no subject
They haven't kissed like this since before the palace. Actually, Percy is having trouble thinking about the last time they kissed like this at all. Actually, he' having trouble thinking at all.
There's a sound of protest from him when she breaks the kiss, but some part of him dimly recognises the need to breathe. He presses a kiss to the corner of her mouth instead, hand sliding back into her hair. He's a little at loss of what to say right now, so he just kind of gives her a helpless smile.]
no subject
[Annabeth doesn't pull her hands away at least, holding onto his head and keeping herself close. She brushes her thumb along his cheek. Her voice is a little low, a little questioning, and a little demanding when she speaks up.] And what, exactly, changed between now and the last week or so?
[Because srsly what happened?? Why have you not been macking on her???]
no subject
It registers eventually, though. Not what she said, just that she said somrthing] What?
no subject
I repeat: what changed today from the last week or so? You weren't... [She sort of trails off, and she'd make a vague hand gesture if her hands weren't still attached to him.]
no subject
He frowns a little though, not quite getting the question. They haven't been making out, but he didn't think that was....weird. Was it?] Weren't what?
no subject
You haven't... [Frown.] That. [Wow so articulate, good job, Annabeth. She blames her heart rate and the fact that he's still gently touching her face.] Why didn't you want to...?
no subject
Oh.
Percy abruptly goes bright red, ducking his head a little. And then it jerks up again when he realises that she thinks he didn't want to.] No! [The word spills from his lips before he even knows what else he's going to say.] No, I didn't - I mean, I did. I wanted to - want to! Obviously. [Ugh just going to press his forehead into her shoulder and groan]
no subject
Then why didn't you? I mean - you just, every time - I can tell you do now - [Clearly] But ever since the audience, and we just - [How do you word??? Annabeth's a little grateful he's hiding his face, because her own's turning redder by the second. It doesn't really occur to her to equate Tartarus with this, because if anything, that's just made her want to kiss him more. Finally:] You were avoiding it.
[And after it'd kind of started to be A Thing with them?? She couldn't help but wonder.]
no subject
I'm an idiot. [He informs her shoulder of this before listing his head. Sea-green eyes are clear, concerned, and completely earnest when he looks at her.] It's not you, or - or us, or - I didn't even realise, not really. I just... [He screws his eyes shut for a moment] Oh man, this is going to sound so stupid.
no subject
[She very much enjoys making out with her boyfriend ok and there's got to be a reason why he kept avoiding it. She needs to know what it is, how it relates to her. What she can do.]
no subject
It's... [Come on, man, just say it. What's the worst that could happen?] Tartarus. Sort of. [He drags one hand over his face, trying to get the words right. His expression is probably the puppiest it's been in a while now] I don't want to be overwhelming. I mean, having it hanging over us, I didn't want to be like, 'hey you know what's appropriate right now? Making out.'
[He frowns a little, trying to sort out his own feelings. It hadn't really been a conscious action, so it's difficult for him] I think I was worried about wanting it too much. You. Wanting you.
[Bright red?
Bright red.]
no subject
[Her own face turns into a tomato to match.] It already is kind of overwhelming, don't you think? Tartarus, I mean. [That near constant pit at the bottom of her stomach. It really only disappears completely when they're wrapped up together, especially doing the whole making out thing.]
[It's one thing to just sort of... go with it, the kissing and growing urgency, since clearly it was something they were both okay with. Something they both wanted. But they've never really talked about it with any kind of out loud admittance. She's always found it easier to just do, in this case. There's a few moments before she responds.] Why would that worry you?
[Okay, yeah, there's the whole potential to get carried away, which absolutely has not slipped her mind, but she just... feels like there's more to what he means than that. Even if he's still figuring it out himself, Annabeth can tell. And maybe she's nervous about that being a bad thing?? Because she's pretty sure she wants him just as much at this point.]
no subject
[He's worried now, that he's been unintentionally screwing things up since they got back from the palace. His expression is pretty transparent, in that regard.
Percy shakes his head, clearly frustrated with himself] Because of coming on too strong? Or tempting fate. I don't know, it was stupid. I'm really sorry, Annabeth.
no subject
It's not weird. Or stupid. [It comes out almost right away, a rush to assure him. Maybe it is a little overwhelming, but not in the way he thought it would be. Even if he was dead wrong, the fact that that was what he was so concerned about makes her want to simultaneously smack him and throw herself at him. So, you know. The usual.]
[Her hands move to cup his face.] Percy. You've never done that. You've never made me feel that way. Not once.
no subject
He tries for a smile] It was a little stupid. [You know. A bit.]
no subject
[Annabeth presses her lips to his, but it's a gentle kiss, and she closes her eyes as she lingers there for a moment, without movement. Forehead to his, she pulls back a fraction. Her tone is full of the feeling behind the words.] I love you.
[A pause.] But don't ever do that again.
no subject
The face disappears the second her lips touch his. It's gentle, but it sparks a reminder in him of what they were doing before, and the fact that she's still sitting in his lap.] I love you. [His response is instant, instinctive.
And then he laughs. The way he kisses her this time, it's a little less gentle, and a little more...more] Whatever you say, Wise Girl.
no subject
[She laughs when he does, and is about to remark on how he should just listen to her more often, but then he's kissing her like that. Her laugh turns into a happy sort of hum, because he started it. Finally. And it's been a while. This stupid boy she's sitting on, she can't handle how much she loves him sometimes, and it's such a relief to get back to this. To know they're okay, to know neither of them did something wrong. When she kisses him back, it's with more fervor and she shifts herself even closer in the process.]
no subject
On hand stays at her waist, but the other skims up her torso. He cups her face, thumb absently sliding back and forth over her cheek as he tilts his head to the side a little, deepening the kiss. Still not close enough.]
no subject
[So when his hand slides up her side, there's a small jolt, a small but sharp intake of air, and she's kissing him just as deeply, maybe even a little rougher, needier.]
[Except there's a nagging feeling. A literal feeling, in her foot, because sitting too long at this angle is putting an uncomfortable pressure on it.] Percy. [Okay she kisses him again before anything else, and everything is spoken against his lips.] Wait. One second.
[She really needs to move but she doesn't want to disentangle. One more lingering kiss, then she starts wriggling her leg to stretch it out, and thus her whole body sort of shifts to the side, but her hands are still holding his hair and face.]
no subject
He is absolutely okay with the way she's kissing him right now, matching her intensity. But then she stops and it's something else that jolts through him, eyes flying open] Um. [She starts shifting, and while he can recognise that she's uncomfortable, he groans a little (involuntarily) because - well. It feels good. It takes him a couple of seconds to find his words again] What? Are you okay--?
no subject
[Her face flushes when he groans, but she shakes her head.] I'm fine. Just - my ankle.
[Her one leg is still curled in an awkward kneel, and the other is across both him and couch, but already there's relief from the ache. Annabeth brushes her lips lightly over his, still very much looking at him like she's not done.] I had to move it.
[Except this is not very good positioning to continue as they were. She frowns in thought for a second, then tilts backward on the couch. One hand slides to his chest to fist into the front of his shirt, and she tugs him to follow, just in case he pulled a
dumbPercy.]no subject
There's a flicker of realisation across his face when she starts moving backwards, and his face flushes red, embarrassment and...something else. He wants to ask if she's sure she wants to do this, but the way her fist is clenched in his shirt seems to imply that yes she is very sure.
Besides, this is Annabeth. if she wasn't okay with something, she'd definitely let him know. So there's only a brief hesitation from Percy before it seems like he comes to some sort of decision. His entire thought process has been obvious on his face, even in the space of a few seconds, and his expression shifts now to become focussed as he effectively takes control of the situation. Instead of letting Annabeth drag him, he pushes her back onto the couch, body moving over hers until he has her lying between his legs, knees on either side of her thighs.
Something more smirk than smile hovers about his lips as he looks down at her. His head dips, mouth brushing against hers] You're amazing, you know that? [Because sap]
