and the day keeps on worrying me
Characters: Percy, Mrs. O'Leary, and YOU
Date: April 9-10
Location: Both Atam and Keeliai. Pick and choose where you want to run into him!
Situation: Percy has a giant hellhound who likes to lick things
Warnings/Rating: IT'S A GIANT PUPPY basically G-rated.Except for Percy and Annabeth oops
[It's no secret that Percy has been in a terrible mood lately. Between everything going wrong on the turtle and what's waiting for him and Annabeth back home, it's difficult for the usually upbeat demigod to maintain a positive attitude. Percy tries to be a source of positivity for the others, but he's still a teenager with the world on his shoulders, so some moodiness is expected.
Except for right now. Because right now, Percy is seated comfortably on the back of a giant black dog - literally, she's about the size of a rhino, or maybe a small elephant. He looks relaxed in a way he hasn't in weeks as he chats to the hellhound; Mrs. O'Leary doesn't really look like she's very interested in what he's saying, tongue lolling out and dribbling drool on anyone who happens to get too close as she looks around the surrounding area. There's a kind of barely restrained energy in her form that says the only thing stopping her from bounding around like a maniac is Percy's presence on her back.
He's not sure how Atam feels about a hellhound in its midst, and the kedan don't seem to happy about her presence in their streets, but they're too intimidated to actually approach the beast of a dog just yet. Besides, she only knocks over a few things, and Percy apologises right away.]

April 10 - Keeliai - Cosette and Marius!
Marius could only gasp as something large bumps into him and sends him sprawling onto the ground. Worriedly, he whirls his head to where Cosette is, checking to see if she's been unharmed, ignoring the actual hellhound and the boy on its back in the meantime. Cosette's safety comes first, after all! ]
Cosette!
no subject
I'm alright, Marius.
[It's just a dog, after all. And a cute one at that! It probably meant no harm and was merely excitable or affectionate. ]
no subject
Oh man, I'm sorry. Are you okay? [The dog, meanwhile, has determined that Cosette is a source of potential scritches, and headbutts her chest gently]
no subject
And why is it touching my Cosette's chest
Even I haven't touched that part yetMarius barely even registers Percy's concern; he scrambles back to his feet and stares in utmost disdain at the large, offensive dog. ]
Monsieur, please be mindful of your steed!
[ AND MAKE IT STOP TOUCHING COSETTE'S BOSOM OR SO HELP ME GOD ]

April 10 - Kelial
He lands (wearing his brightly colored uniform) in front of the pet and Percy, offering his hand to the dog for her to smell.]
Impressive pet. Kids from your world will never stop impressing me.
no subject
Hold on, you don't want to--
[Percy groans as Mrs O'Leary greets Kal - enthusiastically. Hope you like dog slobber, Superbro, because you're covered in it now] Quit it, Mrs O'Leary! Jeez where does it even all come from? Sorry about that, man.

Effusive, isn't she?

April 10 - Keeliai
It's not hard to notice a large hellhound. At the same time, it's probably not hard to notice that Arthur is sporting a golden trident on his back, simmering with sea god magic. He's keeping a safe distance for the moment; he's wearing something a little nicer than the usual orange scalemail.] The last time I saw a hellhound, it wasn't nearly that well-behaved.
no subject
[He wants it. Not to keep, or anything - he has Riptide, and he wouldn't trade the sword for anything. But looking at that trident, he thinks that just holding it would be pretty cool. He knows better than to ask that about someone's weapon, though, so he's just going to chinhands it with his eyes]
no subject
It's the Trident of Neptune, from my world. I'm not surprised you can feel it. [A small, wry smile.] Apparently it was lying around gathering dust in a junk shop in Atam.

WELP somehow I accidentally archived this...
April 9 - Atam
So when she looks away and back again, to make sure it's definitely not there - and it is - she just sort of stares. And wraps her fingers around her recently found amulet. But it's not glowing or anything - would that even work on a hellhound, or is it only a Follower thing? - so maybe things are okay.
Or she's going crazy. Her molecules buzz idly, wanting to pull apart and being unable to.
It takes her a second before finally noticing Percy.] Do I even want to know?
no subject
You say that like it's weird to see a teenaged demigod riding around on the back of a tame hellhound.

back in keeliai sometime
[And she'd continue that thought process (the familiar look of zoning out in thought was probably even creeping into her expression) except said hellhound decides to lean over and lick her cheek - though really, it's half her face. She makes a bit of a face, shoving at the giant dog with futility. Though she's more amused than annoyed tbh.] Yes, hello, Mrs. O'Leary, I'm still here.

[Annabeth absently scratches at Mrs. O'Leary's fur in front of her, idly musing on how she really needs to wash her face.] Where exactly is she going to stay?

April 10th - Keeliai
And she's about to throw in the towel when she sees the hellhound. Others may be afraid. Others may be leary. Mavis?
Welp.
Mavis lets out a squeal of joy and runs straight towards Mrs. O'Leary (and, by extension, Percy).]
Holy rabies, I haven't seen a new monster in ages. Hi! I'm Mavis!
[...said directly to the hellhound. SORRY, PERCY.]

And you're friendly! Oh my gore, this is great! You have no idea how lamely not-monster everyone here is!
[Oh, hang on a second. A human is talking to her. Mavis looks up at Percy and smiles because, hey, a human riding a hellhound's a step up.]
Of course monster. What else would she be?

April 9th - Atam - do you still want to run into Gavroche, too? :3
The skeptical look on his face is hard to disguise, even for him. That... Is a giant dog. A very giant dog. He's wondering how elated James and Philippa would be, though, and the surprise turns into a rare, wistful smile.
"He friendly?"
sure thing! :D
As if to prove him right, Mrs O'Leary leans over and snuffles at the guy's hair.
no subject
"Friendly is good," He comments, holding out his hand so the giant dog to get comfortable with his scent. "If you don't mind me asking--exactly why is she so big? Is it natural?"
