Well, you and me're gonna get along just fine, then.

[And wow, does he ever mean that.]

So, been here long?

[refusing]

Just woke up here today, actually. So, not long at all. I've been trying to look around, figure out if we're really stuck.

[She frowns some, shoving her hands into her pockets.]

So far it looks like we are, sorry t'say. I can't be, though. I've gotta find a way out.

[jirk]

[He smiles, tucks his hands into his pockets.]

Tell you what. We'll figure it out together. I'm pretty sure this place couldn't take both of us at once.

[Actual Optimist Jim Kirk.]

[refusing]

[She smiles up at him, very amused by his optimism. He's the kind of person she likes, someone who doesn't let things like this get them down.]

Deal.

[Laughing, she leans off to the side, swaying a little.]

Come on, let's do some exploring. There's no way this place can handle the two of us.

[jirk]

[He sweeps a gallant hand out in front of him in a sort of 'after you' gesture. It's at least a little because he wants to check out her - ahem - assets.]

Pretty big place. Population of about forty-nine thousand, according to the tricorder. It could hold a lot more than that, but I'm guessing the resource scarcity puts a damper on that.

[She's oblivious to the fact he's eyeing her as she brushes past him and takes the lead, trying to figure out the best direction to start in. She just picks one aimlessly and acts like she knows where she's going and what she's doing.]

If they're just gonna tear us away from where we belong, why do they care if there's enough resources to go around?

[She's not convinced that they do.]

Anyone work out if we're here on purpose or not? That's probably important. If it's an accident, maybe the locals'll be more on our side in the long run.

[jirk]

Probably because they don't want us resorting to cannibalism.

[Hey, he's seen it happen. Not pretty.]

According to the local watering hole [ie: the network] it sounds like we're here because we're 'heroes'.

[Not a title he'd dispute, of himself. But still.]

[refusing]

What do you mean?

[She seems a by surprised by the heroes part, but quickly goes from looking surprised at having it mentioned, to pleased.]

Guess that description fits just as well as any. Rose Tyler: hero. Has a nice ring to it.

[They cross an intersection and Rose wants to head one way over another, and she reaches down to grab hold of his hand and drag him along after her as they traipse on ahead.]

I have no idea. Heroism is-- you know, subjective.

[That's a deep statement for him, okay? He lets her pull him along, grinning as she does.]

I guess we just work with what we've got until we can get home.
