OPEN | Wally West ( Kid Flash )
Characters: Wally West and You
Location: Keeliai - Fire Sector
Situation: Day 02: Wally's been here for a day already - he's yet to make a network post, mostly because he's been concerned with finding work. He's just found a job that fits and he's exploring the city.
Warnings/Rating: None, yet.
[ So aside from the whole situation of winding up here yesterday, Wally West was doing alright. His long ride to the city and settling down had gone off with ease - aside from getting strange looks now and then from the locals when he expressed his disbelief in being "between life and death." He had locked himself up in the suite and spent most of that first day pacing until he fell asleep. With the dawn, he had made the resolution to find himself some work. This was definitely a sprawling place, and not a prison, or so he had determined for now. Might as well go along with the flow. An explanation from a local resident had laid out the sectors in detail for him, and that's what set him on his path for the Fire Sector.
Wally walked like a normal human being for once. It took him a good deal longer than he probably wanted, but even this impatient boy knew better than to go all that way without getting a hang of his surroundings. Once in the Fire Sector, he set his sights on every herbalist around. He figured with what chemistry and biology he knew, he'd be perfect for that sort of a job. Four turn downs. The only reason he got the job he did was because he let slip he lived in the Wood Sector and he showed off his speed. The soon-to-be boss appreciated that he could stealthily retrieve ingredients now and then, maybe cutting down on his costs to the merchants.
With that success under his belt, the ginger-haired teen was told to come back the next day for work, bright and early. Today? He had to himself to finish exploring the city. ]

At first he doesn't see him, too busy looking at what's ahead of him to bother glancing, but when that patch of red hair caught the corner of his eye he glances over, blinking a little in surprise. Tommy wasn't aware that there were any speedsters here. Other than him. He turns and starts running backwards to get a better look at him, raising an eyebrow as he smirked, no sign of slowing down.]
Can I help you?
no subject
Just admiring another guy with fancy footwork.
[ It might have been a little rude, but he looked back ahead, just to make sure he wasn't going to cra- crud. They were coming up on a larger building and he hadn't been paying attention long enough to adjust. This was going to hurt - Wally's eyes went wide and he tried decelerating, but too late; his momentum ended up throwing him into a roll along the ground and smack into the building. ]
Ow...

Fancy footwork? You ain't seen nothin--
[When Tommy sees Wally try and slow, he glances behind him and realises that this was about to get really painful if he didn't skid. But skidding backwards wasn't exactly something he'd perfected yet. He trips the moment he tries, taking a few skidded steps backwards before smacking into the ground, grinding to a halt when his back and the back of his head smacks against the wall.]
Owww... [he hisses, attempting to pick himself up, so he can rub the back of his head. That'll teach him for showing off.]
no subject
Speaking of that speedster, he looked over to the fallen male and gave a shaky grin. ]
I go by Kid Flash. How about you?
no subject
He squints up at the other boy, pushing himself up as best he can from the wall, sending a small shower of cracked paint down on them, and groans a little, heaving a shallow sigh--any deeper and his back would start complaining. That's gonna leave a bruise.]
Kid Flash? What, was just 'Flash' already taken? [he scoffs a bit, giving his head one last rub before sitting up.]
I'm Speed.
no subject
Ah-hah... Thing about that. The Flash is my uncle. I a- was, his sidekick.
no subject
Tommy remains on the floor, trying not to move too much as he could feel the bruises starting to blacken against his throbbing back.]
A sidekick? Wow, that sucks. [he snorts.]
no subject
Not really. He's a pretty cool guy. I looked up to him before I even found out about his powers.
no subject
So does that mean when you grow up and graduate hero school you get to take over the name?
no subject
[ He'd never actually thought about that before. That wasn't how things seemed to work with heroes back on his world. Once he got too old to be Barry's sidekick, he'd probably have to take on a unique name. And then there was the fact that he might not even want to continue with this. ]
I honestly don't even know how much longer I'll keep this up.
no subject
[He blinks a little. How could a speedster ever hope to live a normal life? Tommy knows that whenever he's forced to use 'no powers' back home it drove him to near madness. He just had to run.]
And you're a speedster? Good luck with that.
no subject
He huffed and crossed his arms. ]
Yeah, well some things can change your mind on that.
no subject
Yeah? Like what?
no subject
[ He didn't need to be reminded of the Helmet of Fate - it haunted him every day, especially with what it did to Zatanna's dad. ]
no subject
Oh. That. Yeah, okay, I know what you mean.
no subject
Yeah, anyhoo, that's not happening any time while I'm here. Looks like things are pretty... wound up.
WOW IM SORRY THIS TOOK ME SO LONG LIKE WOW...
--So hey, what's your top speed? The only other speedster I met was my Uncle and he's not really into racing.
It's cool!!
Speed of sound. You?
no subject
Faster. I never actually measured it.
no subject
...
no subject
What? Breaking the sound barrier is kinda easy...
--Hey, can you explode stuff too?
no subject
...My uncle can.
no subject
That sucks. He never teach you?
no subject
My recreation of the accident that gave my uncle his powers didn't give me the full set. So. Speed of sound's my limit. No vibrating.
no subject
Wait--you're not a mutant?
