[OPEN EVENT] Weekend Winter Wonderland

Date: March 8th-11th
Location: All of Keeliai
Situation: It's been a stressful month thus far for a lot of people, but Jack is determined to Make All The Happy and decides he needs to get back to his wintery roots by giving the city a proper snowing.
Warnings/Rating: People high on snow glitter?

Jack had spent the last three hours balanced motionlessly on the top of a flagpole, head tilted back as he listened to the wind and the sound of the city below. Where is Winter? it asked. I'm here! the spirit replied, but he knew it didn't mean his physical presence. He'd had too much on his mind and too much in his heart and in that sense he had indeed been absent these last few weeks.
Eyes closed and thoughtlessly trusting, he tipped forward into open air, letting the wind catch him and hurl him upward into the misty cloud cover that scudded across the stars tonight. At his touch they thickened, fat and pale grey against the indigo backdrop and Jack swirled them up, the motions so ingrained in him they felt just like breathing. In the small hours of the morning snowflakes began to fall on the sleeping city, specks at first but then quickly becoming heavier.
Now with a fresh canvas to work with, Jack was really in his element. He could never have done something like this back home, not anywhere in his world. It would have been too strange, too inexplicable, drawn too much attention. But here on the turtle, things were different. There wasn't really a semblance of normal and Jack poured his imagination and heart into the things he wanted most to share, and from the snow rose gleaming swirls of snow and blue light, forming things of exceptional detail and delight.
By the time the sun rose, a solid three feet of the snow had blanketed the city, glistening and crisp and Jack went rocketing down the streets, rapping on doors and windows to leave spirals of frost on every surface.
"Whooohoo! Snow day! Get up sleepyheads, everyone come out and play!"

"I believe the wall is strengthened as much as it can be," he tells her, ducking around the edge to keep an eye for any snowball that might be coming their way.

This was her first time really getting to work one-on-one with the Team leader. Having spent more time around certain other members in the past, it surprised her just how well their similar combative styles complimented each other. She made a mental note to ask him more about Atlantean sorcery sometime in the future.
While he looked back at the opposing team, Zatanna risked a glance from above. As expected, Robin was nowhere to be seen and Wally was a blur of yellow.
"Unfortunately, something tells me they've got the offensive covered."

"Perhaps if the ground out there was more...smooth, our friend speedster would find it harder to stay ahead of us," he explains to her as he pulls one of his water bears around the side of the wall, ready to spray a gush of water that blankets the field. "If you understand my intent."

Taking a knee, she braced herself to jump out into the open just long enough to enact the necessary spell: "On three?"

"Three!" Trusting Kaldur to provide ample cover, Zatanna jerked out from behind the snowbank. Hands extended, and spell at the read. "tlemer otni dilos eci!"
She was barely finished when the onslaught of retaliation came her way. But the spell worked: all surrounding the immediate area, the soft snow re-melted into a thin sheet of frozen water. Just slippery enough that it would hinder any swift movements on either of their parts.
Now it was Kaldur's turn.

And with her quick acting Kaldur moves into position, ready to bring up a shield to protect himself from any snow balls while sending a volley of his own at great speed in a wide range around the field. The ice should keep Wally from dodging to quickly, but the wider area he covers, the more likely the speedster might slip up.
"Zatanna, we're going to need more ammunition."

She barely had time to admire the beauty of Kaldur's magic before the request came. More ammo. Right. Ducking low, she narrowly avoided two simultaneously snowballs whizzing over her head as she magically pulled some more snow from the ground off in the distance, carrying it to them. It should hold them for at least a full minute.

"We cannot remain behind this wall. Eventually they will find the means to get around it. There is too much area around us that is not as defensible. We must create a more mobile form of protection."

"How big you want 'em?" Already, she was starting to collect a few more ice particles to raise the shields. "I can cover you while you attack."

He considers their options for a moment. "Large enough to cover our vital areas but not large we cannot run or dodge with them would be best," he decides.

She had to take a step back, dodging a few oncoming attacks. While she dipped down, she slid along the icy surface, pulling up more of the residual moisture with her. The resultant shields were roughly the same size as her and Kaldur combined, except they hovered mid-air. Bending to her whim, like they were still water rather than solid ice.
