Event | Satellite | Salvage & Repairs
Characters: Any and all!
Date: May 22 - 26, 2013
Location: Keeliai, turtleside, ARSHEPHELIOS cluster remains
Situation: The fires are put out and repairs around the city have begun. With life preserved, eyes turn now to what exactly crashed down into the ocean.
Warnings/Rating: Please put CW in your subject lines
Satellite Crash Event
Crash Landing | Salvage Party | Shocking Spectres
Questions | Keeliai | Repairs | Salvage | Other | Oceanside | Shellside | ARSHEPHELIOS-side | Coralside
The majority of fires are reported as under control and repair crews start forming up to bring Keeliai back to her pre-scorched splendour. This is all well and good, but there remains a cluster of debris that crashed into the ocean drawing the attention of salvagers and Foreigners alike. Boats and teams form up and head up to scour the ocean, where the cluster rests upon an expansive and ancient coral formation and can be reached within ten metres of the surface.

OTHER
Kedan asked about what happened will reply that they are certain only of the fire that rained down from the sky. They whisper that there is an island of metal off of Tu Vishan's south end, but the younger kedan will say with a giggle that some believe it to be a few centuries worth of refuse come to surface.]
OPEN! cw: descriptions of bruising/lividity?
Moving along with everyone else to pull through the rubble to get anyone trapped inside the collapsed buildings, sparing a few sharp raps upside the head for those trying to loot, though they were not his focus. He's smudged with ash, dirt and debris, and there are burns on his hands and bare feet. Yet the sharp eyed ones may catch patches of ugly purple bruising visible on his extremities underneath the layer of mud and grit, darkening almost to black at the tips of his fingers, colouring the thin tissue along his eyelids, the corners of his mouth, speckling pale cheeks like unwelcome freckles. The spirit had held nothing in reserve in the face of rescuing those who'd needed it, and now had no cold left to preserve himself.
Jack pulls his hood up over his head to block the sun from warming the back of his neck, knowing he needed to get somewhere cool -- ideally back to the freezer -- as soon as possible. But he'd be all right if he just took a moment to gather himself, he could spare a few more minutes to make sure no one else needed aid, Jack thought, and promptly passed out. ]

Hey you!
no subject
Oh... hey Gilbert.
no subject
What the hell did you do kid, sit in a burning house until it fell down?
no subject
Something like that. Are there more... fires? I can...
[ Do something. He gestures with one hand and almost loses his balance. ]
no subject
I admire determination as much as the next guy, but it's just stupid to not know your own limits. You're going to melt or something Schneeflocke.
no subject
[ He reaches out and touches Prussia's sleeve though it's as much for steadiment as to illustrate the point, seeing that the nation is also covered in evidence of his relief efforts. ]
We got them out, right?
no subject
Come on, brat. Where's the nearest icebox to shove you into? A meat locker? You're useless like this.
no subject
You don't have to... I can get there.
[ Probably. ]
[ Maybe. ]
no subject
[Because really kid you're being dumb. And if Jack doesn't stop him he'll be hefting him right up over his shoulder and taking off in the direction he gave.]
no subject
Will you come wake me up in a few hours... I don't think there's an alarm clock.
no subject
Sure, whatever, in a few hours. Once everything's under control and people stop being dumbasses about a little meteor shower.
no subject
Oh hey, you're old right? Do you remember that meteor shower in November of 1872? They said a comet broke up and it rained them for hours. I've never seen anything else like it.

JAAACK
[How do you tell if somebody has not... completely finished existing when he doesn't have a pulse to begin with?]
[Damian doesn't just sit still, anyway. He moves to drag the unconscious body into shadow. Then skips off. Even in this chaos, ice can be located, and he fills a whole large bag, darting right back to the spot where he left the spirit.]
[Then he just dumps the bag of ice on top of Jack. If there's a faster way to cool him down, Damian can't think of it right now.]
no subject
Still, it's enough to have seen Damian hovering over him and he matches the curse with something similar in Russian, wincing. ]
Hey.
no subject
Frost!
[... and maybe a little relieved, though that happened the moment the ice started changing.]
What do you need?
no subject
You can talk to me at regular volume you know, I'm not hard of hearing...
no subject
Of course. I would have carried you to your freezer, but I had to make sure I wasn't wasting the effort while you woke up... elsewhere. The palace, these days, I hear.
no subject
... sorry?
no subject
[Yes, he can read the expression. So Damian simplifies.]
It was really difficult to tell if you were going to wake up, or trying to make that happen would be futile. The whole pulse thing, I think.
no subject
Why would you be trying to take my pulse, I was just taking a catnap, there wasn't any--
[ He gestures around to make his point and only then realizes that he's not sitting in the same place as he'd started out. There's a comically baffled expression that takes over as the protest dies mid-sentence. ]
Whoa, whoa what happened?? I was just resting for a few minutes!
no subject
Of course you were.
[Fine. Whatever. It's not like it matters, anymore. Robin shakes his head.]
Try to get some proper rest before that becomes more of a problem.
no subject
Hey, I... I'm sorry. I honestly just intended to catch my breath, that's all. [ pun not intended ] Thank you, for getting me out of the sun. For cooling me down too.
[ he can feel the difference ]
I didn't mean to-- [ 'worry' sounds wrong somehow, too personal ] -- um, inconvenience you.
no subject
[Translated: it's not a problem.]
I know things are hectic right now, but you won't help anyone if you damage yourself. It's as simple as that.
[Translated: take care of yourself. Please!]
