Characters: Shayera Hol, and anyone who runs into her!
Date: June 23rd
Location: she'll start off in the Earth Sector, but she'll wander to the other sectors throughout the day.
Situation: her arrival on the turtle!
Warnings/Rating: it's Shayera, so don't expect her to be too friendly. other than that, not really expecting anything too severe.
[Honestly, Shayera had been in worse situations. Like the Thangarian invasion, or the Cadmus Crisis, and countless other that would no doubt take too long to list. But most of those incidents, she chose to get involved in. This one? Not so much. If the "Emperor" had asked and given her a good reason to come, she might have agreed.
But no, they dragged her here, most likely while she was sleeping, and so far, no way of getting back to Earth. Needless to say, she didn't feel like playing along. Sure, she'd at least go to her apartment in the Earth Sector and check out the room they gave her. Well, at least it's got plenty of room for her to stretch her wings. But after spending a little time in her room, she explores more around the Earth Sector, trying to ask people for a possible way out, or even more information about the place.
Once she's gotten her bearings in the Earth Sector, she flies over to the other sectors, moving onto the Fire, Wood, Water, and Metal Sectors in that order. Expect her overall demeanor to be frustrated, muttering curses under her breath occasionally.] If I see those guys again, I'll take my mace, and shove it up their-- [She cuts herself off, since people are starting to give her looks. Of course, her scowl isn't going anywhere anytime soon. Approach at your own risk.] I dare this day to try and get worse.

But damn, does she hate not being able to do anything.] Has anything ever attacked this place?

Several things. When I got here six months ago we had zombies, and a few weeks back there were these... ghosts? All magical - this place is full of it, but the defences are all magical in nature, too.

[And that smirk says she loves it.]

[It's light, but there is a note of quiet grimness to the last two words.]

[And honestly... the only people who really used it were John, other older Lanterns... and Guy. That wound is raw, and still bleeding, and the pain rips through him. The bow's still in his hands and he's deadly with a weapon now; he doesn't even stop to think, he lashes out.]

[He just ducks and keeps fighting, using his fists this time. A Green Lantern finishes what they start.]

Her fuse is all but gone, she doesn't have the patience to deal with some kid with anger issues over one single word.
HM, SOUND FAMILIAR, SHAYERA.She keeps him pinned below her, landing a few more punches, while trying to keep his arms down.]no subject
Now you can call me 'kid'.
[Grumpy, but light. They were both itching for a fight and they got it.]

I can see why John likes you.

How many times did he make you watch Old Yeller?

I haven't made it through a single showing, can you even believe that?

[A contemplative pause.]
I think we're from different universes, but John doesn't seem to have changed much. Just the names and some of the details.
no subject
[Oh great, she loves headaches.] Different universes. Nothing will surprise me anymore.
no subject
[Where 'us' means 'Green Lanterns'. Speaking of which-]
Do I exist in your universe?
no subject
Yeah. John's mentioned you before, but I haven't met you.
no subject
How many Lanterns from Earth?
[Please say four. Please.]

[A shrug. Okay, he'll bite.]
Anyway, the crux of the matter is some people are really alike across universes, and some aren't. There's a lot of people here from similar worlds to ours; most of them are from mine, and you'll run into all of them.
[He jerks a hand back towards civilisation to indicate his meaning. Then, a beat.]
I don't really know the version of you that's in my world, but if John likes you, you're family to the Corps.
[He sticks out a hand.]
Kyle Rayner. Just "Kyle" is okay, so's "Lantern". "Honour Guard", if you want to be fancy about it. Or "kid", since you earned that right.

But family... that's been a pretty foreign concept to her for god knows how long. She lost everything after the war, and not even all of the Justice League fully trusted her. Of course, that was to be expected. She takes his hand with a smile, giving a firm shake in return.] You can just call me Shayera. I'm not sure about the "kid" part, though. Anyone who picks a fight with me is stupid, but sure as heck not a kid.
