Closed | Malicant Event | Teams 10 - 12
Characters: Team 10 (Jason Grace, Amaterasu, Carol Danvers, Marius Pontmercy, Johnny Storm), Team 11 (Natasha Romanoff, Dinah Lance, Liz Allan, Namorita, Toro Raymond), Team 12 (Peggy Carter, Jaime Reyes, Westly, Johan Gustav Dååhd, Cinna)
Date: June 25th - July 13th
Location: Keeliai (various locations)
Situation: Evandau put out the call for help against the great and powerful Oz. Malicant. Ozicant. There are the next three teams to be assembled
Warnings/Rating:
Please include content warnings in subject headers.
The police force has a series of leads they need the Foreigners to follow-up on that may (or may not) relate to the entity known as Malicant. Teams 10, 11, and 12 are mobilised now. See the threads in this post for details and contact Alex (
reignsdown or the mod account) if you have any questions.
Note: A variety of the options indicate that players can create kedan to fill plot needs in terms of questioning and what have you. These kedan are plot-specific and would not count in the rule-of-tens for NPCs (unless they were referred to after the event; but that is future and this is now).

SET 02
The team would need to bet on a total of three fights, with their bet for a minimum two fights being successful. Three-bet victory would see the team lauded invited to an evening feast by the triad.
There are not many lucky kedan that get invited to dine with the triad; a total of ten other attendees are present at the concluding feast, each set about a large, round table at which Vohsei sits at the south point, Inopal at the northeast, and Raibyoxin at the northwest. "Expensive" defines the food on offer, with many items restricted by the rationing decrees on offer. Wines, succulent meat skewers, rare fruits, and decadent chocolates are the themes of the evening, with Vohsei stating that these are some of the comforts their enterprise offers those that invest in it. Raibyoxin takes the lead from here, laying on the table two separate offers. The first is to buy the champion animal from every kedan present or the team itself; Inopal's initial offers to purchase the animals made at the end of each fight are reiterated, with a 15% cut of future profits from that animal included. The second is that the owners retain their animals and enter them into the fights, even raise their own small pack with the consideration to start a third location to include in the rotation. There would be no upfront payout here, but 5% of any future house winnings on their animals would be paid out to them to assist in founding this capital investment.
Questions asked to the nature of the enterprise and the ultimate purpose of the house's profits would be handled by Vohsei, who says that they are supporting something greater than the Ironwood Emperor or her Alderwood bitch. Here, the air of the room would feel suddenly cold and a sudden sensation of intense fear would pass through each character before dissipating quick as it came. Meanwhile, Vohsei -- who only appears mildly unnerved by sensation -- would explain that as a taste of what awaits any that might seek to pit their profits against the fighting rings instead of for it. Inopal and Raibyoxin are both markedly discomfited by this comment and the preceding sensation, taking to draining their wine goblets and letting the PR head of their trio handle things. Vohsei sees that these goblets are refilled before raising his own in a toast to "Malicant" -- with a return of that terrifying sensation coming at that word and lingering until the last drop of wine is drained from the goblet of each attendee. One kedan that stands to protest this toast and the commentary about Eshai would end her tirade mid-word, eyes rolling back into her head and body collapsing into adrenaline-triggered convulsions; she would die momentarily and the triad would pay no particular attention to it, having a securitykedan remove the body.
Options:
A
Regroup and report back to Evandau on the nature of the fighting ring and the toast made. The Alderwood Commander would, upon hearing what name was toasted, immediately arrange two teams of fifteen officers a piece to conduct a raid to shut down the sites simultaneously and to apprehend the triad to be held and executed for conspiracy against the Ironwood Emperor. The characters would be invited to raid the location that they attended to, with the advice that they not directly interfere with capture of the triad; he would task them with freeing the pack and seeing to it that no handlers escaped. Players could create names and attitudes to suit the policekedan attending the returning raid; please note that Evandau's presence would be handwaved and questions about his direct actions could be asked of Alex (
Exact details as to the outcome of this raid would be provided in the next clue set if this option is taken.
B
Maintain their cover and question Vohsei about the name he mentioned. This show of interest would further discomfit Inopal and Raibyoxin, who would excuse themselves to address other business while leaving Vohsei, who is clearly comfortable with the topic, to speak with them. Additional handlers would also leave the round table for the sake of this. Vohsei would then speak to the benefits of M-demorte, stating that it seeks to free them from the control of the Ironwood Emperor and has offered, through him, a chance for Foreigners that display fealty to it to return home once the turtle is dead.
Additional details about Vohsei's offer and what else may be found by freeing the animals would be provided in the next clue set if this option is taken.
Deadline:
To permit creation of the next clue set, please reply with the option selected by the team by July 6th at end of day. If no response is made at that time, a mod will RNG the option. A header has been provided in the IC section for your team for any threading relevant to this clue set. Questions and (some) additional details can be requested by replying to this comment with QUESTION - SET 02 in the subject line. Please be specific with questions, as generic "what happened to X" queries are too broad to answer fairly.
