The police force has a series of leads they need the Foreigners to follow-up on that may (or may not) relate to the entity known as Malicant. Teams 10, 11, and 12 are mobilised now. See the threads in this post for details and contact Alex (reignsdown or the mod account) if you have any questions.

Note: A variety of the options indicate that players can create kedan to fill plot needs in terms of questioning and what have you. These kedan are plot-specific and would not count in the rule-of-tens for NPCs (unless they were referred to after the event; but that is future and this is now).

BRIEFING

Evandau starts this briefing that even an entity such as Doctor M-enstein would need funds in order to ply those kedan that work with it by some means other than fear. That is why he is assigning this team to look into an illegal fighting ring that may be generating sufficient juulan flow for Malicant to bribe officials, purchase supplies, and hire strength to help it with its more menial tasks. Disabling this ring could disable its ability to generate money and greatly slow whatever actions it may be taking against Tu Vishan. He previously had officers undercover at the ring, but with the health of Tu Vishan declined, they can no longer take the form necessary to infiltrate -- this he says with a pointed look at Amaterasu. By the way, did he mention that it's the Keeliai equivalent of dog fighting? Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to investigate and shut down this operation. The thing is? He wants evidence that it is linked to the M-word before he will commit the troops necessary to raid and raze it to the ground.

BRIEFING

There have been a series of suspicious evictions in the poorer sections of the Wood Sector, commencing shortly after the decay started and made with claim that the trees these homes were carved into had rotted beyond safe living conditions and therefore had to be vacated. Any families that resisted the evictions were literally carried out by a team of strong kedan; those that complied were later well compensated for their cooperation. Once the buildings were vacated, neighbours noted the presence of security at each site to prevent trespassing, squatters, or the return of the evicted. The police have been unable to investigate this as the evictions were signed off by the building owners. Xi notes that this came to her attention when her great grandson's family was evicted against their will; she freely admits this personal angle, but notes that the Alderwood Commander has granted her permission to set a Foreigner team on the follow-up.

BRIEFING

Hei To begins the briefing by pinning a map up on the wall; it is clearly a reproduction, but lacks label to identify exactly what is being detailed and there are a few blank areas. There have been criminals apprehended coming in and out of the city in violation of their parole orders of late. None of them have significant or longstanding gang ties; those that do show no pattern of loyalty to one specific crew. The only link between them is that each possessed the portion of a map with no names (Alexandretta) and only a red-lined route marked on each. These maps were worthless as a whole, but analysis of the lot showed a puzzle to be put together -- the results of which are now compiled into the reproduction pinned on the wall. He gestures to a thick black line at the west side of it, indicating that it appears to identify one of the Eastern gates based on the lines suggestive of roads leading away from it. Three separate cartographers have looked over it and agreed upon this concluded location. The red-lined path begins there, heading eastwards on the main road before breaking off onto less travelled routes. The suspicion is that these bits of maps were for runners meant to relay goods to a specific destination -- the paths were spilt into multiple legs so that no single runner would know the whole route. None of the apprehended kedan were caught transporting any goods and only some on the return were found to have trace elements of a toxic powder on them. The blank spaces are, Hei To fears, runners that have not been caught. Their orders are to trace down the origins and/or destination of this map, as well as discern exactly what was being run along the route.
