EXTREMIST CELL | Open
Characters: Any and all that want in
Location: Metal Sector, "top right" turtle flipper
Situation: WHOOPS, Evandau missed the most extreme gang and now they're taking action. Help take down their HQ or put an end to their plot to damage Tu Vishan's mobility.
Warnings/Rating: Violence, possibly language, maybe blood.
The remnants of the Black Kirin came together into an extremist cell both anti-Foreigner and anti-Tu Vishan. They've been gathering their forces and resources for one massive attack on the turtle itself. Natasha Romanov has alerted the PC crew to this risk and now there are two focal points to counter: Dismantling the Black Kirin headquarters in the Metal Sector and dismantling the explosives tied and primed to the front flipper on the right side of Tu Vishan.
That means it's time to (optionally) pick sides and quests to lend a hand in. Participation in optional, but do you really want to see what happens when too many explosives go off on an extremely giant turtle?
As of Natasha's warning post, the operation is approximately four hours from being live and ready to execute. Time will be of the essence when it comes to putting a stop to it, because no one really knows how Tu Vishan would react to damage. And, to the Foreigners, what will happen if he submerges in self-defense and floods Keeliai?
Black Kirin HQ:
Evandau's actions during the festival took the head off the snake, but the venom remained and the heads regrew with the ferocity of the Hydra. Run now by a council of ten, the gang has taken over one of the taller buildings in Metal and hollowed out residences, offices, and storage to put together one large scale operation to blow off Tu Vishan's flipper.
Roughly half of their forces are holed up here, ready to storm the streets and block police response when the bombs go off. They're armed to the teeth with everything from swords to crossbows, many of them wearing varied forms of armor to protect themselves.
The roof of the building is where the signalling team is placed, with the simple utilisation of mirrors and light meant to trigger a message chain along a line of smaller outposts spaced between the building and the operation location at the flipper.
There are three priorities in this location:
>Apprehend (or end) the council of ten.
>Disarm and apprehend (or end) the armed forces.
>Disable the signalling equipment to prevent warning reaching the operation.
Tu Vishan's Flipper:
The top three lieutenants of the reborn Black Kirin are overseeing the operation to disable Tu Vishan's flipper. They have approximately sixty kedan with varying degrees of arms and armor defending the operation. In addition to this, there is a team of ten labourers working beneath the waterline to transport explosives and a team of five engineers to position and wire them
The armed kedan are similar to the forces within the headquarters, but are spaced further apart and have devoted one third of their number to shell border patrol/sentry duties and one third to boat patrol around the length of the flipper, which is submerged. They are alert for possible intervention, but not infalliable.
The placement teams are one engineer and two labourers, all working beneath the surface in gill-adapted forms to continue breathing as they work. They are using a variation of plastic explosives that represent cutting edge technology here on Tu Vishan and, most importantly, is waterproof. There are five floating platforms with supplies floating on the water with two guards per; here the labourers surface to obtain the next charge.
Each of the three lieutenants is on the move, joining each phase of the work to help and remind everyone who is in charge. Careful about engaging them! They are the top martial arts combatants of the Black Kirin and will not hesitate to use lethal force.

BLACK KIRIN HEADQUARTERS
Near the entrance at any time :U
In the beginning it'll mostly be standing watch and taking down anyone that comes up and tries to start even more trouble. Eventually, though, she'll have to start using her firepower to make sure none of the gang members get outside.
The quick solution to that is to work on summoning up a wall of fire to block their way. The problem with that, though, is that it'll take a lot of Liz' concentration to keep it going strong while still keeping it from going out of control and spreading. Of course, while the armour the kedan are wearing may help them against hand to hand... metal gets hot, and there will be a lot of fire around to make those suits feel hotter than an oven. However, if any manage to break through, it'll be difficult for Liz to try and take them down while still maintaining control over her fire.
Once everything is taken care of, though, that means it's time to rein everything back in so that way the good guys inside will have a way out, too. This is also something that'll take a lot of Liz' concentration, but the job can always get done faster if there are people around that are good at putting out fires.
After all that, Liz is just going to want to go home. But mostly, she'll stick around to catch up with everything else and get news on how everything inside turned out.]
[OOC: Feel free to work with Liz during any of these times!]

He spots the answer to his question a second later as he catches a glimpse of Liz. She seems to be keeping it going and as he nears, he can see that it's also effectively keeping some of the members out. She seems like she's got a handle on it, but as soon as he thinks that, someone manages to burst through the flames. He's got to give it to whoever's got the resilience for it, but of course, that just means that whoever it is will be another factor to watch out for.
In fact, he can see that the solitary gangmember plans to attack the woman keeping the fire going in hopes of saving his fellow members and yes, that would be a very, very bad thing indeed. ]
Watch out!
[ Andddd he's sprinting to try and tackle the aforementioned gang member. ]

Jesus! [Rein it back, rein it back, rein it back. Do not fuck this up for everyone else. Liz breathes deep and takes a moment to focus.]
The fire is not my enemy.
It is a part of me.
It is mine.
[She repeats the mantra several more times, and each time the fire slowly dies down before it is reduced to a minor, controlled burn. ... And then the turns to face the Doctor.]
What the hell was that!? [It isn't that Liz in ungrateful. It's just that things could have gone very bad if she wasn't able to get herself under control. Also, just tackling people isn't exactly an effective method. It's nothing personal, Doctor. She's just very snappy.
Either way, she marches over and reaches down to grasp the gang member's head before slamming it into the ground - that should take care of him for now.]
Going to have to start over, now. Try to keep the interruptions to a minimum.

I — I was trying to stop him from doing anything that might stop you from effectively blocking the doorway. I didn't think you'd have such a reaction to that, so, yes, apologies on my part. But you're welcome for that by the way.
Also, that was a bit unnecessary. [ saying that he looks a little miffed would be an understatement because no matter who it may be, he's never been a fan of anyone using violent methord unnecessarily. at least there were no guns involved. ]
Now then. Is there any possible way for me to get in there?
no subject
Sorry, but if my concentration gets messed up then there's a risk of this building going up in flames, along with everyone inside of it. [Including everyone on their side. So yeah, she's not really sorry. She's grateful, but she's not sorry. Hell, it's taking a good amount of concentration to just keep that minor fire going.
She doesn't say anything in regards to the comment about taking out a threat being unnecessary, though she does roll her eyes.]
You can get in through here, but it'll take me a few minutes to completely put the fire out. [Because keeping everything under control is one thing, but making a fire die out completely is another. She's the burn lady, not the put-out-all-the-fires-ever lady.]
Give me some time and you'll be able to get in.
no subject
What about just putting out a section of it rather than the whole thing?
no subject
She may not be very chatty for a while, though. The more she talks, the harder for is to focus. The fire gradually starts to diminish before it goes out completely.]
It's all yours. [Liz is just going to ready herself for anyone that decides to try and come through while the fire is out.]
Leader Hunting with Natasha Romanoff :|
Natasha herself is in search of the leaders of the Kirin, stalking through the building with efficient grace, calmly putting down any kedan who get in her way. If she passes by anyone in dire need of help, she might be inclined to stop and rescue them, but for the most part she's focused on finding her targets and taking them down.
One duckling in a row...
... but, good God, is he not sorry for that.
Natasha Romanoff is beauty personified, when in motion. He's been impressed by ladies here before - Favirelle is stunning by just existing, and the pure joy in the way Steph throws herself into it strikes a chord in him - but this is something else entirely. Even the way he can see her making sure that the force she applies isn't lethal... it's almost too much.
Or maybe would have been, if he could just sit and watch her.
He can't. And he doesn't let himself get too distracted. They have work to do, and lives depend on him. Steve's, possibly, included.
Bucky isn't anywhere near that efficient, but he's a fast learner, and he's been working on this since the day he met Rikki, and then the first day of the Festival. His motions have started losing the need to be down on the ground, instead using elements of the parkour he's getting a grip on to be a tougher target, to apply momentum to the enemy of superior force... and to get to his own marks as quickly and quietly as he can.

And then the kedan he's been chasing around a corner pretty much runs into a large, red fist, and Bucky skids to a stop, looking up at the... uh, person before him.
"Whoa."
He looks between the red giant and the unconscious kedan.
"You're not one of the bad guys, right?"
Because the last red-skinned, weird-looking, superstrong man he encountered definitely was.
no subject
The guy just stares at him, not daring to move a muscle.
Satisfied, he turns to Bucky. "Don't look at me," he says. "I'm with you guys."
no subject
Except he doesn't have time to be terrified from somebody on their side. Who actually checks to make sure his, ah, adversaries survive the encounter.
"And it's good to know. Bucky Barnes, and heading that way." He points down the hall, and, "in case that bit wasn't clear, anyone who might look like he or she's got anything like a trigger device for explosives gets priority treatment."
Way to be rude, Bucky... but he really doesn't have much time to waste, not until the building is secured.
no subject
You get the picture.
So this is why he wanted the guy still conscious, now watching them in terror from his spot on the floor. Sometimes you just have to ask for directions. Hellboy crouches down in front of him again, the kedan's wide-eyed look meeting his even, golden gaze.
"You know anything about a bomb?"
The man's look of fear turns into disgust as he spits a mouthful of blood on Hellboy's jacket, swearing he'll tell him nothing. Hellboy grabs the guy's shoulder, slamming him up against the wall.
"Now what did I tell you about pissing me off?"
no subject
Magic. He's gotten glimpses and hints and, well. The fact that he's here in the first place is a big hint as to its existence, but it's still difficult for Bucky to wrap his mind around its uses.
And then the big guy starts questioning the kedan, and Bucky stills, deciding it more prudent not to get in his way. Not when 'killing spee' is something the big red person is frowning on. That means the questioning won't get out of hand...
... right?
