Event | Landfall | Diving & Sinbrilee
Characters: Any and every!
Date: August 10th - 31, 2013
Location: The sunken city of Sinbrilee
Situation: Tu Vishan comes upon the oceanfloor, holding his own memorial to the fall of his sister turtle while those upon his shell may explore the ruined city.
Warnings/Rating: Please place content warnings in subject headers!
Sinbrilee | Dreaming | Death

Art by Rica.
The city is lit by a warm orange glow, there are thousands of lanterns lit and burning brightly to ward off the gathering dark. It was once a grand, thriving place, and it's obvious by the quality of the Greco-Roman architecture, the high sweeping columns of white marble, the beautifully paved roads. There are aqueducts throughout the city that look as if they could be put to use today. In fact, if it weren't for the fact that the city's spent the last few hundred years underwater, it looks quite liveable. This city is entirely open to exploration, so feel free to send your character out to their heart's content. Remember, certain doorways will lead your characters into either Death or the Dreaming and these markings won't always be visible to them, so they should take care and be vigilant at all times!
Note: A separate post will be made for the events of the Bacchanal later in the month.

OPEN!
He's wearing practical, Keeliai-style clothes, and a (smallish) backpack with water and food (and a few other necessities) (including a folded-up larger carrying bag, considering the things he has previously found, at landfalls). He's careful, and looking through things thoroughly.
There is much information to be had, and, while he spends some time at the library, he's going to need to do more research than that. Only one way to do that, isn't there. On his own two feet.
lmk if this is good
"Oh... give me a few minutes, Baby Tooth," he said apologetically and the faerie chirped, holding tight to the folds of the blue hood like a tiny iridescent jewel as he alighted nearby to the boy.
"Hey Damian?"
absolutely good!
"Frost."
His eyes did take in the new friend Jack had acquired, but he thought it a bird of some sort, at least at the current distance.
no subject
The contrite tone and downcast look made Baby Tooth reach out with a chirp, pressing one tiny hand to Jack's cheek worriedly.
no subject
"I am not exactly the person people who are upset want to be around."
Jackass.
"That is probably for the better."
no subject
no subject
"I am merely pointing out facts."
no subject
Then before Damian can counter Jack reaches up to his collar and cups the tiny faerie in one hand, holding her out. "And I wanted you to meet Baby Tooth. Baby Tooth this is Damian, one of my friends," he added, as though daring the smaller one to say differently.
no subject
"Baby Tooth? As in the Tooth Fairy, very very young?"
... what. He could be confused.
no subject
Then he turned to reply to Damian. "Not... exactly. The little faeries are like Tooth's helpers, but they're also-- kind of a part of her? I'm not entirely sure how it works. They're the ones that bring you a gift for your teeth."
The faerie nodded enthusiastically, holding tiny hands to show the shape of a tooth in her grasp before flitting closer to Damian, motioning for him to open his mouth.
no subject
"To those who leave their teeth for that." Not my teeth. His voice was... again, even. He didn't say it darkly - it seemed wrong, around the little fairy - but he didn't have enough willingness to feel with him right now to say it even marginally wistfully. Or wishfully.
After a moment, his attention returned the the tiny flitting figure, who had crossed her arms impatiently (or unhappily), rolled his eyes, and did open his mouth.
His teeth were... well. Perfect. And, yes, his hygiene of them was impeccable, too.
no subject
"Wow, usually I'm the only one that sets them all a-twitter like that... you trying to make me jealous?"
And he actually did seem a little put out by it, though he was quick to cover it up by miming a camera taking a snapshot.
no subject
"What are you talking about?"
no subject
"Guess you're her new poster boy!"
no subject
"Perfect genetics. I do not need a fan."
And, no, he wasn't misunderstanding the meaning.
However, something between Jack's face and Baby Tooth's registered, and his mouth twisted. Then he held out his hands, palms cupped slightly, for the fairy to settle there if she wished.
"I doubt her preference will stay with me for long, after all."
no subject
"Oh, I don't know about that," Jack persisted teasingly. "Next thing you know, your smile is gonna be on billboards."
no subject
Come on, like Damian smiled all that much.
"I am - was, before coming here - a Wayne in Gotham."
A moment, and he breathes out, slowly, before looking down at Baby Tooth.
"Does she need something special, to be well cared-for?" Because she was away from her world, and Damian was pretty sure that anything as small might have special needs, away from home.
no subject
"Not especially. Like me, she doesn't need to eat or sleep unless she wants to. We've already picked up some fruit that she said looked tasty," he added, as though his protection was being called into question.
no subject
The news that the little thing wasn't in immediate (or imminent?) danger actually made Damian relax, slightly, and he nodded, accepting the information.
"That is... encouraging. It would take some time to minimize, say, what you are wearing to her size."
Then he frowned at the comfortably lounging baby fairy.
"... what is she doing?"
no subject
"I think it's pretty much only me who's going to have that problem," Jack said wryly. "Even if another Seasonal arrived here, they'd probably just shrug the weather off."
He grinned at Damian. "What? You offered to hold her."
no subject
... not when things were quite this raw, of course.
">Tt.< Perhaps they would. And now you are capable, as well." Which wasn't exactly trying to tell him 'you are no worse than them,' but it was probably closer to that than pointing out his own accomplishment to that purpose.
Well. Maybe a little. Damian Wayne was proud of what he built, even with help. But he wasn't toting it out at Jack, he didn't think it was necessary. Besides, he was far too confused by the fairy.
"Well, yes, but..." He looked up at the Spirit. "She is not worried by finding herself," he shrugged a shoulder to indicate, well, Sinbrilee. "Here?"
no subject
no subject
"How many like you are there?"
Not 'how many of you' - that would make her sound like far less than the individual that she was demonstrating herself to be.
no subject
"She says that she isn't really sure, because it's always changing. The mini faeries are part of Tooth, like... like a snowflake is made up of tiny ice crystals," he improvised the metaphor. "So they're independant but at the same time they're not? She says there's as many of her sisters as there need to be to collect all the children's teeth, and that there always seems to be more because there are more and more children in the world than there used to be. She remembers when Tooth finished the part of the Tooth Palace that's for Antarctica, because that's fairly new."
Then Jack laughs and adds, "Then again, 'new' is a relative term among spirits."
no subject
"That must be really... strange. To be a part of something as interconnected."
... no, he couldn't make up his mind, if he wanted to at least know how it felt, or if he wanted to stay as far away as possible from that kind of... loss of self, that the connection implied.
"But I can probably understand what you mean, about 'new.' Even though, sometimes, that can probably still mean instants ago, no?"
(no subject)
