Event | Landfall | Diving & Sinbrilee
Characters: Any and every!
Date: August 10th - 31, 2013
Location: The sunken city of Sinbrilee
Situation: Tu Vishan comes upon the oceanfloor, holding his own memorial to the fall of his sister turtle while those upon his shell may explore the ruined city.
Warnings/Rating: Please place content warnings in subject headers!
Sinbrilee | Dreaming | Death

Art by Rica.
The city is lit by a warm orange glow, there are thousands of lanterns lit and burning brightly to ward off the gathering dark. It was once a grand, thriving place, and it's obvious by the quality of the Greco-Roman architecture, the high sweeping columns of white marble, the beautifully paved roads. There are aqueducts throughout the city that look as if they could be put to use today. In fact, if it weren't for the fact that the city's spent the last few hundred years underwater, it looks quite liveable. This city is entirely open to exploration, so feel free to send your character out to their heart's content. Remember, certain doorways will lead your characters into either Death or the Dreaming and these markings won't always be visible to them, so they should take care and be vigilant at all times!
Note: A separate post will be made for the events of the Bacchanal later in the month.

About the baby. You're back up sitter, alright?
no subject
[He doesn't disguise the delight, the sheer joy radiating off him. The entire idea is another adventure, and the part of him that loves it is buried, but it's surfacing, as it does when he's with Clara, Rose, and Jim.]

When it gets lonely in the middle of the night and wants to be visited, I'll call you and you can go over while I sleep.
[she just can't say no that face, Kyle. Okay, it's an egg and probably doesn't need middle of the night care (or does it? It's a magic turtle egg who knows). But if taking care of it would make him happy, then she's happy to let him.]

[Without stopping for breath:] Okay. Okay. All right. You know you might have to play music too, yeah? Or read to it. I wonder if there's turtle bedtime stories? Would it be happy with one of ours? I've never been in charge of a baby turtle before.
no subject
Baby turtles are definitely outside my normal nanny realm. Might have to wing a few bedtime stories and lullabies. At least I can play the piano. Can you sing? I can sing a bit but I'm putting that one on you.
[She's not a bad singer but is usually way too shy to sing. She laughs and shakes her head.]
I can't believe I'm suddenly looking after a baby turtle. It's so ridiculous.

[He laughs, nervously. What he can't hit with his usual range he makes up for with his enthusiasm.]
I can even make up the instruments. And Sora - she'll help too. Korugar's got great music.
no subject
[She laughs and flips at him to move over. They were going to discuss something important. Probably should discuss something important. But they were both the type to avoid it. She didn't want to admit that dream terrified her. And he didn't want to explain. It worked.]
Turn around I'll get out and show it to you.
no subject
You're going to read Les Miserables? Boh-ring. You can read it Around the World in Eighty Days. That's more exciting.
[He does more than turn around when she asks, he gets up and moves to the corner, with his back to her and hums to himself quietly as she gets dressed. In between all this, he doesn't want to talk about what she saw, and she's not asking.]
no subject
[Remember what she was reading? She gives him a quick punch in the leg as he moves away before pulling herself out of the tub. Luckily, there were towels at her apartment that she brought along to dry off with. Then she pulls on her dress. It's a bit loose, she realizes as she buttons up the front. She must have lost some weight in all the madness of being here. Oh well.
She walks back over to Kyle in the corner (why was he even there) and pokes at him.]
Ready to go?
no subject
[He kicks at a stone, before he glances at her dress, brow furrowing.]
Uh - I'm not being rude. Are you losing weight? Is it stress?
[best to confront it directly, he supposes. Any tactic to avoid the elephant in the room.]
no subject
[She crosses her arms and then raises her eyebrows. Her voice is light and teasing. She'd rather keep thinks happy and fun.]
You know you're not supposed as a girl that.
no subject
[HUFF.]
You're still gorgeous. I'm wondering if we have to go dress shopping to get you something that shows that off, huh?
[Best save ever?]
no subject
[Jabs her fist affectionately into his side before laughing. She knows she's lost weight; it's been a stressful month with the Doctor arriving and nightmares, but she's okay, really. Definitely okay.]
Are you offering to pay then? Because I won't say no to shopping.
no subject
Cultured.
[He's ticklish and she hit a sweet spot, that earns a low chuckle.]
Oh I would, you know, but you're the knight here.
no subject
[She shoves playfully at him again.]
And yes. Cultured.
no subject
[Cheerfully:] Chivalry is dead!
no subject
Thankfully, I'm fine with what I have so no need for your terrible lack of chivalry. Not that I needed it in the first place.
no subject
C'mon. My treat. Who doesn't like being spoiled?
no subject
[Her dad spoils her like crazy. And sometimes she has to tell him to calm down, even if she knows he's only doing it because she's his only daughter. So flushing slightly she offers her hand for him to take.]
But I wouldn't mind a day out together.
no subject
Your wish is my command.
no subject
My only wish is to have a bit of fun with you, alright?
no subject
[He holds out his arm for her to take.]
Shall we?
no subject
And you don't have to worry about me. I'm really alright.
