Event | Landfall | Diving & Sinbrilee
Characters: Any and every!
Date: August 10th - 31, 2013
Location: The sunken city of Sinbrilee
Situation: Tu Vishan comes upon the oceanfloor, holding his own memorial to the fall of his sister turtle while those upon his shell may explore the ruined city.
Warnings/Rating: Please place content warnings in subject headers!
Sinbrilee | Dreaming | Death

Art by Rica.
The city is lit by a warm orange glow, there are thousands of lanterns lit and burning brightly to ward off the gathering dark. It was once a grand, thriving place, and it's obvious by the quality of the Greco-Roman architecture, the high sweeping columns of white marble, the beautifully paved roads. There are aqueducts throughout the city that look as if they could be put to use today. In fact, if it weren't for the fact that the city's spent the last few hundred years underwater, it looks quite liveable. This city is entirely open to exploration, so feel free to send your character out to their heart's content. Remember, certain doorways will lead your characters into either Death or the Dreaming and these markings won't always be visible to them, so they should take care and be vigilant at all times!
Note: A separate post will be made for the events of the Bacchanal later in the month.

I did not.
What qualifies something as 'bad magic'?
[He's caught on that it's not something where 'quantity' is a thing, at least, if it doesn't follow any natural laws.]

Well, bad magic... any magic can be bad if it's in the hands of someone who's going to use it for bad reasons, you know? That's like anything powerful. But there are some magic things that are just... big no's, kind of.
Like necromancy, for example. Where you use magic to bring back the dead? It's frowned upon, if only because you shouldn't mess around with the dead, and that's before you get into the whole timestream issues. [He pauses.]
Altering reality and taking away everyone's powers and wiping their memories? Bad magic. [But she didn't do it. That wasn't her. He knows it wasn't her.]

[His tone does not change, but Billy's words regarding bringing back the dead are concerning, personally so. While ethics and morality are more complex than a simple binary, it does not completely remove that aspect from some cases. Was such a thing involved in his arrival here?
It is something to think on later, once he has more information.

[That's said a little softer. It's what the Scarlet Witch had done, but it was only because she was so upset. And her father had manipulated her to do it, and Billy just didn't believe that she had done it. She hadn't. She couldn't have done it.]
It's okay to protect someone with it, like making a shield or something, but when someone dies... you don't mess around with that. It's not just that it's not the natural order of things. Bringing someone back like that... how do you know it's actually them that you're bringing back? There are thousands of different realities out there, and just because you pluck someone that you know and bring them to you. It's kind of like this place. We don't really know if the people we know are actually the people we know.
