Situation: The kedan have decided to participate in an Earth tradition: Hallowe'en! But there are other mysterious things afoot this holiday and when people start disappearing they'll have to find a way to reverse the effect... though all of their selves might not make it back.

As the weather turns crisper, the nights and mornings carry with them a hint of chill promising cooler days to come, the month starts drawing to a close. This is a pleasant time, soon to be the season of harvest even on such a nomad as Tu Vishan. Yet the relations with the kedan have been good lately and even the Emperor's latest warning has not dampened the resilience of her people (both willing citizens and not) and so today marks a new tradition to Keeliai and it starts with receiving a simple, handwritten invitation.

"Come and celebrate the Keeliai of ages past..."

NOTE: NPC tagging will be mostly in the Palace Rewards and Touch of Memory threads unless specifically requested elsewhere! Normal rules for players writing NPC interactions remains the same as always.

MID PLOT UPDATE!
Through the course of investigations will be discovered that every Foreigner who went trick or treating has acquired themselves at least one pot of what appears to be iridescent paint, sometimes more than one. Experimenting with these pots (because lbr who doesn't want a few randomly shimmery possessions) oddly enough lets ghosted characters interact with them completely solidly. Which, if you've inadvertently been ignoring someone, might mean you get your new shiny lamp thrown at your head.

Now if people get the smart idea to the paint the paint, that would let ghosted characters get hold of this stuff themselves...

TL;DR - Ghosted characters can paint themselves back into phase. Eating the stuff is also acceptable.

Maybe he wasn't resisting. They can be wiley. [It's not always about strength, and Willow knows that very well.

She nods immediately at the question, though it tips her hat forward, and Willow is reminded she's still in costume. She merely raises a hand and gives a sharp snap of her fingers, and the costume falls away like leaves fluttering to the ground, vanishing before the scraps of cloth touch it. It leaves her in local clothes, much more practical and unremarkable.]

I'm ready. We should trace where he was, see if we can figure out when the... whatever it was, happened.

[Thor is not convinced. It would take a lot to out-wile the God of Mischief.

His estimation of the girl rises as he sees the ease with which she changes clothes. It's reassuring to know that there are mortals here who will be able to take care of themselves should the evil they are to fight happens upon them.]

No one I have asked has been able to give an answer as to his whereabouts this night, but I know it was his intent to partake in the festivities.

[Transfiguration is still a bit tricky for Willow without a major power input, so this was actually dispelling an illusion-- something Loki had taught her, ironically. But she is able to take care of herself if push comes to shove, and it's maybe a bit evident in the ease with which she shifts gears to investigating.]

I can try a locator spell, [she offers.] We just need to get a map, but your magical signature must be pretty close to his, so I can use that to find him.

[It's something she's done more than once at home, and it's a spell she's familiar and comfortable with.]

[Thor would protest that his and Loki's magical energies are nothing alike, but compared to the all the mortal energies on the turtle, two near-immortals are going to be quite similar.]

A map, you say? How detailed must it be?

Only as detailed as you want to find him. It'll work whatever kind of map it is.

[She's already striding down the street, toward where she remembers some kedan passing out trick or treating maps, her basket of loot still in tow. Willow goes pretty quickly from enjoying innocent holiday activities, to overblown concern, to brisk business in tracking him down.]

Come on, there's trick or treat maps over here.

Lead the way. [If she's happy finding her own map, Thor won't offer to make one.

He's content to be led by her to this purveyor of maps, still keeping an eye on the crowds just in case. He's not the best at small talk at the best of times, and his present worry has him more tight-lipped than usual.]
