Alright. Then how about.... [thinks a minute before pulling out the first weird drink he remembers] a Pensacola Bushwacker.

[He doesn't even know what the hell it is but oh well.]

[Resisting the urge to look through her notebook. Okay, no, she grabs it and flips through a few pages.]

A what?

[langsyne]

Don't tell me you don't have it in there.

[If it isn't, he's going to be really disappointed.]

[parallels]

Is that even a real drink?

[She's deeply suspicious here.]

[langsyne]

[At the question, he just shrugs.]

I don't really know. I heard some guy order it a couple years ago and the bartender made something up for him.

[parallels]

[Do you see the slightly dangerous look on her face.]

So you're asking me to make something up?

[langsyne]

[—Oh no. No, no no no, that is not what he meant and they are not going down that road.]

I meant he made it up like he had a recipe and then made it from the recipe, not that he actually poured a bunch of stuff together and made it all up. [He leans forward to try and catch a look at her notebook.] You really don't have that one in there?

Well.

Maybe I could figure it out as we go. Keep mixing different things and I'll get there eventually right.

[she pulls back away from him so he can't see her notebook, completely alight with playful energy.]

No, definitely don't think I have anything by that name.

[langsyne]

[Fine he'll just lean over more then. He's going to topple over the other side soon if she keeps pulling away.]

Are you trying to get me drunk before the hour's up? That's not very nice.

[parallels]

[And she'll lean back more! Seriously, with the low cut top this is gonna get awkward fast.]

Did you also just admit to being a lightweight?

[langsyne]

[Okay fine, leaning back now but only because he has to protest this.]

Hey, there's a difference between being a lightweight and not having had dinner and I am most definitely the latter right now.

They do serve food here you know.

[Now she's leaning forward to tease him.]

Yeah, but the food's not on the house. I need to save my pennies, y'know. Working dad and all that.

[Speaking of dad, what is she wearing??]

Aren't you cold in that?

[parallels]

I might be able to work something out for a friend.

[And then she blushes a little and plays with the neckline of her shirt.]

Only a little. Just having a bit of fun.

[langsyne]

[He laughs, and waves off the offer, pulling his wallet out of his pants pocket.]

Don't worry about it. I'll just put in overtime or something. It's just food. [And spending time with someone he likes, something far more important to him.] The fun part working out for you so far then?

[parallels]

Fun enough.

I'm not sure I've got the proper pub girl... look.

[In other words she's a little shy to be doing this. Or so she thinks.]

[HMMMM. There's gotta be an easy solution for that, hold on—]

You tried getting drunk yet? I hear that works wonders.

[parallels]

Somehow I don't think getting sick on a customer is going to charm them.

[She makes a face.]

[langsyne]

[That gets waved off airily.]

Well, you don't drink that much. Just enough to loosen up. That's....what, two glasses for you?

[parallels]

If only. [She snorts softly.] My alcohol tolerance is extremely low.

Last time I drank I had to be carried home and nearly got sick in my bed.

[langsyne]

[Unfortunately for Clara, Scott is not so easily deterred.]

Then just one drink. Here, I'll even take a drink with you. Make whatever the hell you've always wanted to make but was too afraid to give to a real paying customer and I'll drink it.

[parallels]

You're an enabler. You should feel ashamed.

[She snorts and pulls out her liquor mixing some raspberry vodka with champagne and some kind of fruity liquor and garnishing it with a cherry.]

That's me. An enabler who is absolutely ashamed of his enabling enabler ways.

[And yet there is a wide grin on his face and zero trace of anything even remotely close to shame in his voice. Though that grin does fade a little when he catches sight of the drink.]

Am I suddenly going to grow a dress and hat if I drink that thing?

[It's so girly looking. :(]

[Wow. You. Jerk.

Clara brings her hands flat down on the bar with a smack and proceeds to give him a good hard look. Think a slightly shorter and younger Mary Poppins.]

I thought I remember you saying "make whatever you want". Now you've got to reap what you sew.

[Sloooooooooowly leans back from the bar.]

Yeah, I know, I did, but I was thinking something more, oh I don't know, manly? Not fruity. Or pink. [But okay fine he'll take the damn thing.] Cheers.

[Goodbye drink. Goodbye any sense of manliness he might have once had.]
