Pffft, pathogens...

[ Ha! Whatever those are! As if he'd let them get the better of him! C'mon, Barnaby!

With every swipe of that antiseptic, Kotetsu flinches, hisses, or recoils from his partner's hands. Eventually it turns into a battle between the blond's firm hands and the old man trying to wriggle free from them. ]

What're you--That's good enough! My entire face is on fire, okay? You got everywhere already!

[baniichan]

[Although he's never had to clean a cut on a child before, he suspects it's a lot like this. When Kotetsu finally puts his foot down, though, Barnaby pauses long enough to examine the cuts on Kotetsu's face. He doesn't see much use for bandages at this point, so he decides to let it go for now.]

All right. Would you mind taking off your shirt, though?

[oyaji]

My shirt? [ Kotetsu isn't too sure about this one. He looks down at his lap, considering just how much he actually wants to attempt it. Honestly, it's looking grim here! With his arm busted it up, it kind of defeats the purpose of fending Barnaby off. ]

Uhh... Okay, lemme just--Maybe I can... [ Yeah, Kotetsu's doing this one-handed. He gets it up as far as his under arms, then the hard part starts. He wiggles like a snake to get it over one shoulder, but then it gets caught on his big head where it's impossible to resurface for air. ] D'ah! Bunny, I'm stuck!

[baniichan]

[Barnaby gives a long-suffering sigh before reaching out to finish the job.] Honestly...

[But as he pulls the shirt off of his partner, Barnaby movements are gentle and deliberate. He doesn't want to jostle the man's injuries more than necessary.]

[oyaji]

Ow ow oww, careful! My shoulder-- [ Kotetsu gingerly lifts his left side, letting Barnaby pull his shirt completely off.

His torso was worse than his face, his shoulder red and slightly swollen, his ribs bruised and sore. ]

Well, guess you can't really slap meat on a shoulder, huh...? [ Especially if it's dislocated. ]

[baniichan]

[He frowns at the sight, mostly because he hates that any of this happened in the first place. Not that Kotetsu can't take it, but Barnaby was starting to wonder if he should have just left his station in order to help his partner the minute things went south.]

We should probably get a doctor to look at this tomorrow. Want me to get you some medicine to help with the pain?

[oyaji]

Psh, I'm fine! It doesn't hurt that bad--You know, besides my shoulder, but just a little! No need to be concerned!

[ With a wave of his hand, Kotetsu guffaws off his partner's babying while his bravado was still fueling him like adrenaline. It would crash soon enough. ]

..... What kind of medicine you got? I mean, if I needed it! Not that I do...

[baniichan]

[Barnaby doesn't buy Kotetsu's act for a second, and he launches into a mini lecture without batting an eye.]

It's not a matter of being concerned or not, it's just common sense. Even if you don't hurt much, it's better to be safe than sorry. As a hero, your body is one of your most important assets, so it's important to take proper care of it.

[He extends a small bottle of pills to Kotetsu.]

It's not too strong, but enough to take the edge off. You might not need it, but it would be a good idea to take it anyway. There's no reason to feel uncomfortable all night if you don't have to.
