Situation: Tu Vishan has made landfall on Siaxhi, to explore the Dreaming Watch City of Valishaera.

As Tu Vishan draws near, the heavy jungle visible even from miles out quickly identifies the landmass as Siaxhi, one of the westernmost continents in Konryu and one that has been largely untouched insofar as the kedan themselves have gone. There is a natural inlet along the southeast shore on the continent and Tu Vishan makes for that, though he fills nearly all of it.

I suppose it may be a part of witchcraft. I know little of what witches are capable of, but it seems like the manner of thing they would find interesting.

{Tazendra still thought witches were superstitious foreigners, but she admitted they had talents that were a lot harder to perform with sorcery. Especially psychic things.]

Depends on the witch, really.

[She might have laid the "w" word on a bit thick, but she was also going to give the benefit of the doubt that it was being used as a general term. Not an insult.]

Some families can specialize in certain areas. Others can do anything, so long as it falls within their level of power. It's kind of hard to lump them all into one group.

Are there many sorts of witches where you come from?

[It doesn't seem to be; Tazendra has Opinions on types of magic, but she's a magic user herself.]

Kind of.

There was Klarion, the witch boy--he was a Chaos Lord. Then there was the spirit of Nabu, who resided in the Helmet of Fate. A Lord of Order. Some of the goddesses had power, including Hecate and Circee. Literally, the goddesses of magic. A few other, less known families might have had their own traditions as well.

Ah, well, gods. Those are often another matter entirely.

Not when they're just as annoying as the rest of the metahumans out there.

But as to the manner of their powers, it does not surprise me that they manifest differently than sorcerers and witches.

Not really? I mean, not if magic is what they do.

As far as I know.

Then again, I'm only going off second-hand accounts. And the only goddess I know my dad's ever had to deal with was Circee, so there might be a slight magic bias there.

Probably. Unless either of us end up in the other's world, it's kind of hard to say.

You have not heard of the goddess Verra and her sisters? I believe those were the gods most interested in the magical arts where I am from.

Mmm...nope, not ringing any bells.

Then again, I'm hardly an expert on Greek mythology, so that's not saying much.

There are no giant turtles, for one. Or 'turtles' of any sort.

No, we have turtles. None as big as Asti over there, but there were some decently sized ones out in the oceans.
