Situation: Tu Vishan has made landfall on Siaxhi, to explore the Dreaming Watch City of Valishaera.
Warnings/Rating: Please indicate content warnings in subject headers as applicable.

As Tu Vishan draws near, the heavy jungle visible even from miles out quickly identifies the landmass as Siaxhi, one of the westernmost continents in Konryu and one that has been largely untouched insofar as the kedan themselves have gone. There is a natural inlet along the southeast shore on the continent and Tu Vishan makes for that, though he fills nearly all of it.

POCKET DREAMING PORTALS

Within the temple, several side portals lead to various ‘worlds’ within the Dreaming. Each portal seems identical to the others, giving no real clue as to its contents. But each one is vastly different.

FAE

In one such portal is a mystical sort of land, think World Of Warcraft, and that one place with the GIANT FREAKING MUSHROOMS. Twenty stories tall if they’re an inch, vaguely luminescent, and carrying on for miles in a vast forest. The ground is soft and forgiving, and animals of all kinds wander there. The Realm of Fae will give the character pleasant visions of possible magical potential. If a character has magic, there might be a way to increase its power. If a character is baseline, they can leave having memorized one very simple spell. (Light projection, heal small wounds, that sort of thing.)

Enjolras

[While Enjolras has become somewhat used to new and exotic places, and the idea that dreamscapes can take one many places in a year, he's nonetheless, a bit baffled by what he has wandered into this time. What? But this is nothing like anything he knows or knew, or has seen. Nonetheless, it's pleasant enough, especially when what looks to be some sort of deer creature, only different to those he's seen in books, passes by him on her way to graze.

Still, what in the world?

[Enjolras was followed into the fantastical dream world by Wan. He hadn't seen the other man go in, and in fact had entered more than ten minutes after him. But when he came out the other side, he seemed to have followed right after. Or perhaps that was just the perception of the dreamscape.

What did draw his attention was that same deer creature. She had horns and the body of a dear, but her face was more of a large cat's and her feet were paws. She was very familiar to Wan.

So he called out, hoping he wasn't seeing things.]

[It would have been a lie to say she wasn't a little hesitant.]

[Zatanna's past experiences with these Realms hadn't always been the most pleasant. Even the ones that had were bittersweet, at best. Memories or Promises of a life that would vanish the moment she left. Even worse, Promises to those closest to her she hadn't been able to keep.]

[But this place felt...different. There was a strange spark of energy that seemed to crackle in the very air. At one point, she could have sworn her hair stood up on end. Closing her eyes, she inhaled deeply. The scent of nature filled her lungs. Fresh grass, as it would smell just after a rainstorm. Earth. The clarity of a rushing stream of pure water. Hints of herbs off in the distance..]

[She wouldn't be able to see it, herself, without the aid of a reflection...but when Zatanna's eyes opened again...they were glowing softly.]

CLOSED to RAINE.

Initially Solomon regarded the portals with some degree of suspicion, but the fact they were so public implied they were regularly used by the monks. Eventually he picked one at random and stepped through, prepared for anything that might attack or try to influence him ... and coming out into a forest.

A forest with very large fungi. Solomon looked up at the nearest, squinting against the vague mist which would have been either the Dreaming or water in the air.

[He had been exploring, because why not? He might learn something, what that is exactly? No idea.]

[The more he walks the more he realizes this place is... uh.. different. Magical. Blegh. True, he promised not to make such a big deal of magic anymore, but this place gives him a weird feeling. The giant mushrooms don't really help.]

[He stops and looks down at his hands. They feel weird, kind of tingly. Ehhh, it's probably nothing.]

Korra | OTA

One of the giant mushrooms swayed back and forth, slowly rocking until the small figure on top of it vaulted off with an audible bustle of air beneath her feet. Gaining the advantage in height to look down at the ground below allowed Korra to survey the area and observe the animals that inhabited the realm.

Soaring through the air in a prolonged jump, she landed on top of another mushroom, though it must have been an old one as it didn't spring backwards, instead heading straight towards the ground while Korra went to hold on to the edge.

The one time she didn't bring her custom glider...

Nilin | Open

The forest is unlike anything Nilin's ever seen. She follows a path through the mushrooms, unable to shake the feeling that something is at work around her. Maybe it's her that's different, though with her surroundings as strange as they are, it's hard to tell if this feeling is the norm for this world.

"Strange," she mutters to herself.

Garrett Hawke | Open

[Once again Hawke finds himself back in the Dreaming. At least this time it doesn't drop him in the middle of one of the worst moments in his life. He concentrates very hard on not thinking about that just to make sure it doesn't accidentally happen.

That's not hard at the moment though. Especially when he sees the mushrooms all around him. The entire place seems like it was spawned inside someone's fever dream. Then again, it is the Dreaming so maybe it was.

He always wanted to take a second trip to this place. Now he has his chance.]

JUNGLE

The jungle portal is overrun with flora and fauna that you’d expect in that environment. It’s a test of survival. Characters who enter this realm will find themselves learning how to fight, if necessary. Weapons will appear and disappear as thought of, real only in the Dreaming. If a character enters as a fighter, they will be given a trial of combat, with success granting them a temporary boost of physical strength. If not a trained fighter, they will be given training in basics, which they’ll remember as a vague, blurry memory but clear muscle memories. (I.E. they won’t consciously remember how to fight, but if pressed they’ll discover that they’re surprisingly good at it for a newbie.)

Enjolras:

[He's prepared now for something new to hit him when he enters a new portal, but, nonetheless, Enjolras does feel a little lost the moment he enters the portal, glancing around at a particularly vivid flower, and continuing to walk a little, having to step over some particularly overgrown plantlife as he continues to make his way around.]

CLOSED to HAYLEY

After having discovered the exact nature of the gateways, Solomon felt more secure in taking others through them. He could have investigated the other two on his own, or asked Raine to attend with him, but in the end he decided they were opportunities he couldn't pass up.

It took him some time to find Hayley on the island, but when he had he approached her pleasantly, as he usually did. "Good morning."

Tazendra | Open to all

[Tazendra tensed, feeling that someone or something was heading towards her. She drew her sword.]

Well, let us have it.

[She wasn't displeased by this.]

Korra | OTA

Hardly moments after Korra had entered through the portal, she was on alert and a survival knife appeared strapped to her boot. Being a natural fighter and taught survival skills by her father in the South Pole meant Korra was to be tested by combat. With most of her life being nothing but tests of her physical prowess, Korra easily took to the challenge and was following the trail of what would be her opponent.

The jungle meant many dangerous animals would be lurking and waiting to strike, and she intended to strike right back. A mamba passed along the branch over her head and Korra looked up just in time to see it open its mouth to bite her. Korra took in a quick breath and blew out a a piercing wind that sent it flying up through the treetops right before its fangs were on her face.

"...I probably should have tried to catch it." That was a potential waste now that she thought about it.

Sarah | Open

She's not a fighter, but here she is. Sarah wants to be better, to do better. Over the past few months, the kid has learned that others, no matter how close they are to her, may not stick around. She's got friends and allies, but there's been too many gone for her to solely rely on them.

Before her is a staff, and Sarah looks around a moment before reaching to pick it up. This must be it. This must be where the training starts.

Nilin | Open

Her body is a weapon. Even without her Sensen, Nilin is more than capable of kicking butt without even breaking a sweat. The chance to learn something new though, to improve and master something more than hand to hand is one she can't pass up.

The jungle is a maze of overgrown foliage, but Nilin moves with ease through the trees. "Come then," she says, a challenge to the world around her. "Show me what you've got."

LIBRARY

Just what it says on the tin. A huge, echoing library filled with even more books than the temple in Valishaera. As always in dreams, it's impossible to read any of the books consciously. But certain facts will remain with a character, should they attempt to do so. Characters can leave the Library knowing one fact about the world of the turtle Tu Vishan OR they can leave with a fact from their homes, of their future or past that they did not already know. (Characters are limited to one only.)

Enjolras

[Here is somewhere Enjolras feels much more at home. Libraries are comfortable for him, and have been for quite some time, though, he will admit, that after Paris and school, they have another association too. Libraries make him remember Feuilly,who would have loved to have seen this, and Combeferre, whose excitement he can only imagine.

He would have been so at home here, Enjolras thinks of his lover, considering all of the books they've amassed at home, most of them Combeferre's. Of course, their impressive library for such a short time as a year and some months, could never measure up to this but still.]

You would have loved this, Etienne.

[He's saying it out loud before he realizes how idiotic that sounds, and he's letting a few tears slip down his face, even in the dreaming realm because the loss is still so new, and palpable, and...there is only one thing he can do here, particularly as Combeferre can not.

So, Enjolras is steadying himself and his nerves, adding a few deep breaths, then crossing to the shelves to select a volume at random, carefully leafing through the pages as he settles on the ground in front of the elaborate case he took this from, looking for a good place to begin.

[It was the Library that drew her attention most of all. Because of course it was.]

[Massive. One could spend their entire life in this place, and hardly make a dent in the inventory. As it was, she slowly walked up and down each of the aisles. Fingers lightly brushing against the spines of those at eye-level, while her eyes continued to scan the heavens above in hopes of catching even a glimpse of a familiar title.]

[Knowledge. Information. Intel. It was all right in front of her. The one thing she could always fall back on, even when she was left alone. Relationships came and went, but so long as she kept learning about the world around her, she would survive.]

I wonder if there's a reading room.

[If not , she wasn't against planting herself right on the floor in front of the shelves. A girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do, after all.]

CLOSED to BAKURA; on the late side of landfall

It was a strange thought to consider that Solomon's closest ally in Keeliai might be a man who, Solomon was fairly sure, would have rathered Solomon died during their duel if only to protect the only kin he had left. Solomon couldn't mind too much, given the manner in which he had approached Bakura to begin with.

All that was not, however, enough to prevent Solomon from approaching Bakura on this occasion. There was one last gate Solomon hadn't been through, but there were a limited number of places it could lead given that all the gates were located in a virtual monatery. The first two gates had led to magical and martial prowess respectively; therefore, the third gate was most likely to contain something related to mental prowess. It was the most basic triumvirate of ability.

That meant it was the one most likely to be of use. Solomon doubted he would need any extra magic other than what he already had, and the last thing he needed was for his magic to be cut off. But performing experiments in a section of the Dreaming dedicated to knowledge? If they were lucky, it might even provide for them.

The problem, of course, being how to explain this to Bakura. Solomon led calmly with, "I'd like to perform an experiment with the khajbit."

[It's been a while since Annabeth's been to a library. To say she's pleased is a bit of an understatement.]

[There's so much here that she doesn't really know where to begin, though she knows this isn't a normal plane of existence.]

[Not that it'll stop her from roaming between the books, running her fingers over them as she considers the possibility of attempting to read one. It's almost distracting, how many options there are.]

Korra | OTA

Another book was flung in the air, straight over Korra's shoulder. The sound of book pages being sifted loudly through before the cover is slammed shut had almost reached the point of a rhythm.

"This is the most useless library of all time!" Korra tossed another book onto the pile. "What good's a book if you can't even read it?" At that point, she was looking for pictures or something.

Nilin | Open

After the last two portals she's been through, the library comes as something of a surprise. Nilin wanders the rows of books, idly scanning the shelves for something of interest. Even if this is a dream, it's a beautiful one in her mind.

Garrett Hawke | Open

[When Hawke arrives in the library he feels a little disappointed. In fact for a moment he thinks he might have ended up exactly where he started somehow. Then he realizes that this library dwarfs the one he found on the island. It looks quite cavernous really.

Never one to judge a book by its cover (he couldn't help himself) Hawke starts to explore. When he pulls a book off a shelf and tries to read it he finds that the words are illegible. He blinks his eyes a few times, wondering if they just grown tired and tries again. Hawke gets the same result.]

At least this time I won't accidentally summon a demon.

[He shows Notch the book.]

Don't suppose you can make heads or tails of this?

[Notch stares at the book, and then sneezes on it. He looks at Hawke wagging his tail.]

Thought not.
