Situation: Tu Vishan has made landfall on Siaxhi, to explore the Dreaming Watch City of Valishaera.

As Tu Vishan draws near, the heavy jungle visible even from miles out quickly identifies the landmass as Siaxhi, one of the westernmost continents in Konryu and one that has been largely untouched insofar as the kedan themselves have gone. There is a natural inlet along the southeast shore on the continent and Tu Vishan makes for that, though he fills nearly all of it.

[Mmmmaybe not so much over the network, per say, but this certainly wasn't the first time the subject of kedan magic had come up for her.]

And you think figuring out what makes the magic of this world different from Asti's might help?

With the power that our enemy has over technology, I do believe that the magic of this world will end up playing a great role in our victory. Something about the magic on Keeliai is different. We should learn as much as we can about it and whether that difference can work to our advantage.

I'm not sure that's a good idea, Kaldur. [She sounded unusually hesitant.] You remember what happened the last time kedan magic and I mixed, don't you?

[He does remember, and he remembers how people reacted due to it. His expression is understanding.]

We need to know so we can use their magic to protect their world, not our own. I share the same...reservations about mixing mystical forces of two different worlds, but that is why we must learn the magic of this world as much as we can.

I believe that in the end, we are not beings of this world, and that perhaps in some ways our influence is less...helpful than we would like it to be. So far we have not seen ways in which outside magic has done well in this world. Often our abilities were subject to the power of Asti's influence, losing them the further we got from him.

[Kaldur isn't sure this all means that their magic and sorcery is useless, quite the contrary, but he does believe it means that their abilities are not as secure and reliable as they could be.]

It may amount to nothing, but I do not believe we have many options open to us that we can ignore which ones we do find.

[It was a somewhat ironic statement, given that they had been told the reason for their presence here was because their help was so badly needed.]

[It had been what they were told, but so far, Kaldur has found little to support it considering what Malicant has accomplished. Those without powers have had just as much impact and influence, so are they abilities truly what they needed? He wonders if they have been looking at their purpose here the wrong way.
