Situation: Tu Vishan has made landfall on Siaxhi, to explore the Dreaming Watch City of Valishaera.

As Tu Vishan draws near, the heavy jungle visible even from miles out quickly identifies the landmass as Siaxhi, one of the westernmost continents in Konryu and one that has been largely untouched insofar as the kedan themselves have gone. There is a natural inlet along the southeast shore on the continent and Tu Vishan makes for that, though he fills nearly all of it.

[It would have been a lie to say she wasn't a little hesitant.]

[Zatanna's past experiences with these Realms hadn't always been the most pleasant. Even the ones that had were bittersweet, at best. Memories or Promises of a life that would vanish the moment she left. Even worse, Promises to those closest to her she hadn't been able to keep.]

[But this place felt...different. There was a strange spark of energy that seemed to crackle in the very air. At one point, she could have sworn her hair stood up on end. Closing her eyes, she inhaled deeply. The scent of nature filled her lungs. Fresh grass, as it would smell just after a rainstorm. Earth. The clarity of a rushing stream of pure water. Hints of herbs off in the distance..]

[She wouldn't be able to see it, herself, without the aid of a reflection...but when Zatanna's eyes opened again...they were glowing softly.]

[Tazendra had decided to examine the portals here, with little trepidation; regardless of what was behind it, it would be interesting.]

[Stepping in... and, despite the strange surroundings, it felt almost as if she was back in the Empire, feeling the presence of the Great Sea of Amorphia, not the limited link to the turtle she had thanks to kedan mystics. She grinned, and turned to the nearest person, who happened to be Zatanna.]

Come, let us explore this place!

[Okay, she could understand the excitement. But that was a little too cheerful for her. Like, Hello, Megan levels of cheerfulness.]

Somebody had their coffee this morning.

I get that this place is kind of exciting and all, but if you get any more cheerful, we're going to have to get you a set of pom poms.

[Well, that was completely helpful.]

[But since Zatanna had no real reason to argue, she complied with the suggestion and started on her way. Walking through the realm was...surreal, almost. At times, it felt like she was trying to walk through water. Only she could breathe. Other moments, it carried the sensation of walking on one of those forward-moving walkways at the airports. A sensation of being propelled forward, despite moving at the same speed.]

[She couldn't tell if the place wanted her to leave, or go faster.]

I can see why they call it the Dream realm.

It is very like a dream. Though, it feels...

it feels both familiar and alien.

Not here, here...at least, I don't think? But a realm similar to this one/

[Caution is never a bad thing, but it doesn't stop them from doing what they need to do. Kaldur finds himself wondering about this place, the way the air feels so full and alive itself, not just the nature around him.

He is not surprised to find Zatanna there. It does seem like a world that would call to the magically-inclined. What he did not expect was her eyes to be glowing when he found her.]

[The glow faded as her concentration broke, turning to find Kaldur standing nearby.]

Kind of, yeah. But it's the same as in Keelai--there's so much magic here, that it's almost impossible to tell where it's all coming from.

We are in a world between, perhaps finding the areas where the magic is weaker would be more telling. [Because as far as he can tell, magic of some kind is the core of these worlds.]

Do you remember the last time we came across the Dreaming Realm?

Yes, I remember. [They were not pleasant memories, which made them all the harder to forget.] There is something different here. In that world, it was our own memories that influenced the way the world shaped itself. Here, it is more...stable.

[She almost hated bringing it up, herself. While the Death Realm had been far, far worse, what made the Dream so horrible was the fact that people had to be torn away from their Great Desires. She felt like the worst person in the world "freeing" those who remained otherwise trapped within their own hearts.]

Exactly.

The only thing the weak spots before would tell us were where the exits are. How to escape. But we don't need to escape. We already know where we are.

[The look on his face is thoughtful because she is right that this area of Dreaming is by the most stable that they've encountered.]

Perhaps this world is more like the city inside of the bottle. Stable, but filled with power. Hopefully there are no dragons we are expected to battle here. [Or statues that alter people's personalities.]

...did you have to bring up the bottle? I've been trying to forget most of that week ever happened.

No matter how...unlikable that time was, if there is something to learn from it, we should keep our minds open to it.

[Dying was not a pleasant experience for him, but it happened. And that world was unique to what they had visited previously.] It still stands that it is the closest in stability to this world here.

I learned that I have a lot more self-restraint than I thought, for one.

[Though, much as she was begrudged to admit it, he had a point.]

What do you think that means? Should we be on the lookout for any familiar statues around here too?

I would hope not. The people here do not seem as similar to what we saw of the culture of that world. The similarities may be in how the stable portals are created. If a portal is stable, it may create a more world in which to be connected to. Or it is the stability of the points that they found that led to the ease of a stronger, reusable portal.

Or maybe it's a different part of the realm altogether.

[Which might explain the cultural differences, or why they were far more self-aware this time.]
