Situation: Tu Vishan has made landfall on Siaxhi, to explore the Dreaming Watch City of Valishaera.

As Tu Vishan draws near, the heavy jungle visible even from miles out quickly identifies the landmass as Siaxhi, one of the westernmost continents in Konryu and one that has been largely untouched insofar as the kedan themselves have gone. There is a natural inlet along the southeast shore on the continent and Tu Vishan makes for that, though he fills nearly all of it.

Ah. A warrior then. [Wlodzislaw bears the same smile as he straightens, giving Notch one last good ruffling of the fur on his head.]

A different kind of danger though. One not so easy to detect or fight. More dangerous for that. It's the same sort of absence and assumption that allows evil to thrive. Even those who seem beyond reach can be turned to darkness.

[Well none of that sounds particularly good. Notch whines slightly when the scratching stops and lays down between the two, watching their conversation if not exactly understanding any of it.]

Would you mind repeating that in a way that I can understand it? Because that sounds like it might be important, especially that last bit.

Tell me what you understand and I'll endeavor to repeat it in that attitude. Or, perhaps, you can consider what it is that's said in new light with different words. Those beyond reach, mm? The most powerful. The least shakeable. Ones you rely on, even. They're more a risk than the rest, because it's assumed that they can't be a danger. Give me an infallible man and I'll show you a villain.

Though, certainly, some people are never wrong. It's in their nature. They do exist, albeit rarely. But that's not your sort, is it? The lot you view as above it all are as in it as you or I.

[He rolls his hands around in something vaguely resembling a shrug or dismissal and then looks to Notch again.]

This one might be safest of all.

[Hawke snorts when the old man finishes his speech.]

No one I've met is above anything. They're all just a stupid as the next.

[Himself included of course. He might talk a big game but Hawke knows that he's just as screwed up as anyone else.

His gaze follows Wlodzislaw's to Notch who tilts his head curiously at the two of them.]

At least that's one less I have to worry about.
