Location: Valishaera
Situation: Tu Vishan has made landfall on Siaxhi, to explore the Dreaming Watch City of Valishaera.

As Tu Vishan draws near, the heavy jungle visible even from miles out quickly identifies the landmass as Siaxhi, one of the westernmost continents in Konryu and one that has been largely untouched insofar as the kedan themselves have gone. There is a natural inlet along the southeast shore on the continent and Tu Vishan makes for that, though he fills nearly all of it.

"Ah, well..." He rubs his snout. "America is engaged in a protracted war and the alien invasion was not very popular. But the economy's good and the technology sector is making miracles."

"A war. Precisely what I had hoped that we may see an end to once, swords built into ploughshares, no more need of fighting, or of dying. I suppose it should not come as a surprise, but I had hoped, once, it would be different."

There's a little sigh with that, but well, it could, always, be worse, right?

Don has a similar dream, but little hope it will ever come true.

"My brother loves to study military history. I think he told me once that out of all of recorded history, the only period when there wasn't a war going on, was when Russia changed its calendar so a few months of that year just didn't exist."

Enjolras still has the hope, it's only that he's had to reevaluate the timeline quite a bit. And then push it further out. It seems to be one of the points humanity must reach someday if they want to fulfill their true purpose on Earth and all of that. He can accept that it will not be today, or tomorrow, and that, probably, many, perhaps all of the people here will never see it come in their lifetimes. But that does not stop the principle from having its hold on him all the same.

"I would not doubt that has proven true." If Enjolras looks a little tired as he says it, well, with good reason. "I suppose, in the end, that what we must all do instead, is strive to make things as close to our own ideal, as we might, and hope it makes some bit of difference."

Don's eyes drift back out over the water.

"Very philosphical."

[solo_patria]

"Ah, I was not quite the philosopher amongst my little group of friends. I think they'd laugh to hear you say THAT."


Enjolras lets his own gaze drift out as well, a little past Tu Vishan,so that he's not entirely certain what he's looking at anymore. It works, really, considering his thoughts have headed off on their own little adventure into lord knows what at this point.

"Still, I think, in the end, every effort one can make is worth it, even for a world that they might never come to see, or that their efforts aren't rewarded in. It has to be for something, right?"

"So I've always hoped," Don says, and rolls his shoulders. "I'm going back in."

[solo_patria]

"Enjoy yourself then." Enjolras makes sure his nod is encouraging, the way he would when a friend talked about something he could not figure out the reason for. "Good luck."

Don nods back, then spends a minute purposely hyperventilating, while looking intently out into the bay. Finally he takes a hugely deep breath and dives forward into the water. In seconds his shadow has disappeared, leaving only the small ripples along the shore.
