TEL VISHAN BEACH PARTY
Characters: OPEN
Date: Saturday, August the 9th
Location: The Shell 'Coastline' nearest the Water Sector
Situation: Baby Turtle Beach Party!
-
At the edge of Asti's shell there are coastlines of natural deposits that make up the closest thing to a 'beach' that they'll ever find in Keeliai. It's here that the official Tel Vishan Beach Party is set to take place. All turtle 'parents' will have gotten a message from their respective hatchlings about said party (perhaps a nice change from the whining and the temper tantrums).
Temporary shaded areas built with poles and sheets for weary parents or hatchlings who do decide to come, and some simple snacks and refreshments have been set up as well. There's a fishing net set up to act as a volleyball net for the day, and a ball waiting in the sand for some players.
The rest is up to those who come.

OOPS
The main ones, in order:
1. Gene does not like being abruptly touched or grabbed, because of reasons too sad to discuss here.
The reason is Zhang, and related memories.2. HI THERE EX-BOYFRIEND, PLEASE TO NOT BE MANHANDLING HIM.
3. Tony really ought to know better, since he got treated to the Gene's Terrible Life Show not that long ago.
4. Seriously, in what universe is it okay to dunk your half-naked ex-boyfriend who has also, until recently, been your most hated nemesis? None. The answer is, in no universe.
Gene doesn't reflexively turn and punch Tony, mostly because he's too shocked; he gasps as he goes down and...accidentally inhales water.
Dummy.
He flails to the surface, sputtering and coughing, and Kalliel holds out a flipper for him to flop onto to try and get his breath back.
The turtle narrows his eyes at Tony. Hey, you hurt him!]
im the worst lol (also I love when I get to use this icon)
like honestly does he even have a prefrontal coretxOkay, so, that did not go as planned. Gene does not take the dunking well, and comes up flailing and coughing, to Tony's immediate and intense chagrin.]
Sorry, sorry, sorry, [he mumbles wretchedly, sinking down in the water all the way up to his eyes as Kalliel glares at him.]
TONY STOP WITH THE FACE
Gene's busy expelling what feels like half the ocean from his lungs (though really, couldn't be more than a mouthful at most), so Kalliel takes over scolding duty.
You need to be more careful!
Gene coughs again.] I'm all right, [he says hoarsely, and clambers up onto Kalliel's shell before flopping down across it.]
/keeps making the face
bad llama
Kalliel circles around Tony idly. Hey, anyone else hear the Jaws theme?]

And the time is now. Kalliel gently catches Tony with a flipper, meaning to carry him along.]
no subject
Uh. Where are we going?
no subject
I don't think he's happy with you, [Gene says delicately from his perch atop the shell.]
no subject
At least if Kalliel decides to swim him right out of the cove and dump him into the open ocean, he can call the armor to come fish him out.]
no subject
Once they're far enough out of the cove not to disturb any other swimmers, Kalliel abruptly turns and swims back towards shore, seeming to leave Tony alone...
...before speeding towards him and levering his bulk to body-slam the water and catch Tony in a pretty decent-sized wave! Gene barely manages to hold onto the shell.]
no subject
Okay, I guess I deserved that.
no subject
Gene laughs a little bit at Tony's predicament.] I suppose you have suffered enough, [he says loftily.] Here, come on up. You promise you won't dunk him? [he asks the turtle.
Yeah...I guess...]
no subject
A larger-than-usual wave rocks Kalliel just as Tony is about to settle onto his perch, and he wobbles precariously for a moment. It is only thanks to Tony's excellent balance and reflexes that he manages not make things worse by reflexively grabbing Gene's shoulders to steady himself. Or something even more embarrassing, like throwing his arms around Gene's waist.]

Awkward turtle boat time!]
no subject
Kalliel, lean mean swimming machine that he is, gets them back to shore in no time. When they run aground, Tony hops down on to the sand and— stands around aimlessly, wondering if he should try to gracefully excuse himself or if he should stick around and... hang out...?
He'd promised Gene a fresh start, when he'd handed over the ring, but Tony's not really sure... how to go about that?]
no subject
Speaking of awkward turtle: Kalliel is pushing around sand with his flippers, making a little ridge of soupy wet sand on the shore.
Let's build! the turtle declares authoritatively to both of them.]
no subject
All right. [He looks at Gene and shrugs, smiling a little, then kneels down in the sand and starts straightening and smoothing the ridge of sand]

Too bad we don't have any buckets or sand castle molds. [Tony carefully pokes the top of one of his turrets, trying to shape little crenelations into it.]

[After that round of awkwardness, he's looking cheerful again. Nothing like structural engineering to raise the spirits!]
no subject
because he did not play enough Zelda games as a child, but he knows what Tony's talking about.)He gets to work sticking them into the sand and making it look nice. Or as nice as a handcrafted sandcastle made by amateurs and a giant turtle can look.
Funny, but...he realizes with a jolt that he's never done this before.
He's not sure how he feels about that.]
no subject
Despite the lack of proper sandcastle-building tools, he's managing to put together a pretty impressively-engineered edifice, with lots of arches and buttresses. Unlike Gene, Tony has obviously done this before.]
So, what should we call it? [he asks Kalliel, who is still "helping" with the outer walls.] Every sandcastle needs a name, you know.
no subject
Kalliel thinks about it for a minute.
Castle...Me! Castle Kalliel!]
