[OPEN] Red, blue, orange and green. No yellow snow cones!
Characters: Jack Frost, OPEN
Date: Backdated to the afternoon of Jan 11th
Location: At one of the playgrounds in Keeliai.
Situation: Deciding to surprise some kedan kids as they're getting out of school at the end of the week, Jack provides snow cones.
Warnings/Rating: CUTE?
It had taken quite a few trips to the various markets scattered around the city when he finally found what he was looking for in the Fire Sector: little pots of flavoured syrup. Jack had happily forked over his juulan for a wide selection of them and had brought them to a playground where he knew that children liked to visit once they were out of school. At the end of the week, Jack wanted to give them a special treat.
Now he was sitting on a picnic table with a pile of the cleanest, purest snow he could conjure and a field of cups ready for small hands to fill them before getting dollops of sweet syrup. Pretty soon kids were flocking to the playground with excited laughter as they told their friends, and their friends told more friends. It didn't take long for murmurings about "the snow boy!" to start making its way around.

...booohiss!
Then he tilted his head, frowning. "Why would anyone want that?"
... he may be a very picky eater, really. Not Jack's fault, of the fault of what he offered.
ahahaha
The winter teen took a bite of his own, grinning after he'd swallowed it. "Because it tastes good."
>.<
It had been a long time since anybody other than Grayson and maybe Pennyworth had told him stories, and even they had to spoonfeed them to him. So he, basically, didn't recognize the hint.
Then he rolled his eyes. "How good can snow with flavor taste? That's stupid."
It wasn't said with the explicit intent to offend. Just with the kind of conviction that came with believing - or disbelieving - something.
Re: >.<
He held out one of the cups of flavoured snow to Damian with a wicked grin. "If you think that's true, taste some and prove me wrong," he challenged. "Until you do, it's all just speculation, right?"

Beat.
"Other than the tides, I suppose."
He stared down at the cup, then rolled his eyes and took it. Then took a taste.
Then shrugged. "It is not disgusting."
It was not particularly impressive, either. Then again, Damian was capricious, food-wise. He could eat whatever he had to, to survive. But he only enjoyed a very small number of foods.

The winter teen took another bite of his, shrugging as he chewed the ice crystals. "Hey, I'll take it."

Damian huffed, but did take another bite.
"Simple tastes, I see." It was less of an insult than a statement. A remark on a fact.

However, the second part, he understood, and it made him tilt his head a little.
"You are not..." Slight hesitation to seek for a good word, and the one whe chose didn't quite seem right, "approving of those who amass money and influence?"
no subject
Then he shrugged. "It's just what I've noticed from watching people."

So, so certain the answer to that would be 'no'.

It wasn't an unexpected answer, per se. But it was one that was sort of starting to make sense. Maybe. Tentatively.
"Are you certain?"

Life and death, for example. But he knew very well himself that they weren't quite.
Damian shrugged. But he was - thoughtful. Considering Jack's claim. Something about it made a little more sense than usual of other things people have told him and tried to get him to do. Maybe understand.

"Why limit yourself?"

Condescending? Yep.

"Mhm."

Damian just. Left his barely nibbled cup of colored snow back on the table, shook his head, and shrugged.
"Fine."
And turned to go, since obviously this conversation wasn't going anywhere useful.
