See the World in Green and Blue
Characters: Valdis and open
Date: All of September
Location: Throughout Keeliai
Situation: Various
Warnings/Rating: In Headers
The success of the ball and the relative quiet of the past month had left Valdis with feelings of both joy and concern. Joy in that many enjoyed the ball. Concern in that the Cultists have been quiet since their last attack. She might have been relieved, if not for Alex’s concern over their lack of movements. She would need to put her ear to the ground and see what she could find.

Now, Valdis had settled for the day to complete some of her well loathed paperwork, as such, she would welcome any distractions.

"Am I interrupting?"

"No, not all all," she replied when Sheena poked her head in, "How can I help you?"

"Good," she said, coming all the way and closing the door. Approaching the desk, she placed the small box upon its surface, trying not to cover some of that paperwork.
"Well, I just dropped off the first supply of gels, and while I was making them, couldn't help but think the Police Chief would need her own supply," she told her, pointing to the box.
Small as it was, it still held an impressive amount of the things--since they're about the size of what on Earth is known as a Life Saver.

"Come in."
She set the papers aside in preparation for what was hopefully good news.

"I brought the notes."
He hadn't been able to remember everything, but what he did have was enough to fill several pages.

Very unfortunate. And frustrating.
"I wish he hadn't left."
They could have used his knowledge to fix the mess he had left behind.

"A chemist might be able to complete it."

No? Well, tough tater tots, Alex is really, really good at distraction. He knocked on the door. "Valdis? Am I interrupting?"
no subject
"Alex." She smiled, "No, not at all. Please come in."

Valdis shoved her paperwork aside and indicated the chair on the other side of the desk. "You can sit if you like."

"I assume our little cowardly friends haven't shown their heads," he said. "Not sure if I like that."

She had doubts about that, but she could hope. It had, however, been far too long without a solid lead, so she understood his frustration.

Then he closed his eyes. "It's less worry and more that I don't like not knowing where my enemies are. Knowing is a habit that's served to keep me alive."
no subject
She looked at him, smiling, "Enemies, eh? Well, you have allies here to help keep you alive. The magic helps too."

When she said that, though, he smiled. "That's a definite plus."
no subject
He didn't want to let it go, but she appreciated that he was trying, so her smile broadened.
"I appreciate the pluses, there aren't enough of them."
