Come on in, the water's great! The fish are happy and well cared for, the water is tropical (which goes for any beach bunnies in our midst, not just the fish people!) There's also the ruins of an approximately iron-age city sunk just off the coast for anyone who can swim to explore! It's visible about four meters down. It's mostly old buildings, walkways/etc, that are covered in ocean detritus. Some things could be brought back to the surface. Maybe you'll even find old treasure? Who knows! Have fun exploring.

OOC: This is the catchall log for Ocean Shenanigans. This includes water-breathers on holiday, air-breathers with high lung capacity, scuba gear, mysterious powers, or a water-breather willing to spot 'em, and perhaps even air-breathers who've recruited water-breathing help to skip the checkpoint and sneak into Atam, which is doable if they're careful. /drevil.jpg

[Mera is a little surprised to suddenly be face to face with Superman. To say the least. She didn't have very many encounters with him at home so this is a new thing for her. But she smiles when he points up, nodding and swimming for the surface. Silly surface dwellers and their need for air to talk]

[This is also kind of new for him but as long as people from his world are in this place he isn't going to waste the opportunity to bond with them.

He takes a lungful of fresh air as soon as he gets his head out of the water- he can stay without breathing a lot but it doesn't mean he likes it. Call it a habit.]

I hope I didn't interrupt you?

Oh no, you didn't. I was just floating around. [She lifts a hand from the water to comb it through her hair] Did you need something?

Actually... yes. While I swam a little deeper than usual I found myself coming across a city. [He shows her what he was holding in his hands. A little metallic something-or-other, it seems to be a mug. Proof!]

I didn't want to take anything too valuable from it. Are you and Arthur aware of it?

Ah, really? [An underwater city? Interesting]

Vaguely, yes. We've noticed it while swimming but we haven't gone down to investigate yet. What sort of condition is it in?

Form what I saw, it was completely abandoned. I don't think it was meant to be underwater, which makes me wonder what really happened to it.

Ah, so a sunken city then. [Like Atlantis, minus the surviving life] Well, I certainly doubt we'll be finding any sea dwellers living within it but it might still be worth a look.

If you don't mind me asking, how long can you hold your breath?

[andaway]

[He can't help but grin a bit.] My record is a week so far. I can show you the city if you'd like.

[Mera smiles] Impressive.

If you'd like to show me, I'll follow you. I'm sure Arthur will want to explore later too.

[Kal shrugs] Well, I guessed you guys would like to see the city yourselves, and I know I would at best be a bother since I cannot talk underwater.

I'll show you the city though, if you'd like.

Of course we would. Underwater ruins are always fascinating. Not to mention that there's always something valuable to be found in them. [Not that she's holding her breath this time]

I would like that.

[Kal laughs a bit, he honestly doesn't think they will find anything too valuable underwater and specially not something they will be able to sell in Atam or Keilai but it's still fun to think about.]

Are you ready then?

[She doesn't either but she can't help but be just a tiny bit overjoyed at the prospect of having ruins to explore. Even at home it's been a while since the last time she got to just swim around and explore]

Very.

[Without another word she dives under the water again, waiting for Kal to join her]

[Kal is about to reply but then she's not there anymore and he's left staring at water. He rolls his eyes and tries not to grin as he takes a deep breath, getting his lungs ready.

When he's underwater again he speeds up to reach for her, placing a hand on her shoulder and making circular motions around his head so she creates a bubble around his head. He wants to be able to talk, okay?]

[Mera had not even thought about that but it's a good idea. She nods, circling Kal's head with her hand. The water around him hardens, forming something very similar to an oxygen helmet]

Is that better?

[andaway]

Yes, thank you.

[He smiles at her. Having a bubble around your head is not something easy to get used to but he's still grateful he can at least talk now.]

Follow me, then? I'll show you.

[It does look a little silly. Well, a lot silly. But Kal is friendly enough to be spared from Mera wanting to mock him. Instead she just nods]
