Come on in, the water's great! The fish are happy and well cared for, the water is tropical (which goes for any beach bunnies in our midst, not just the fish people!) There's also the ruins of an approximately iron-age city sunk just off the coast for anyone who can swim to explore! It's visible about four meters down. It's mostly old buildings, walkways/etc, that are covered in ocean detritus. Some things could be brought back to the surface. Maybe you'll even find old treasure? Who knows! Have fun exploring.OOC: This is the catchall log for Ocean Shenanigans. This includes water-breathers on holiday, air-breathers with high lung capacity, scuba gear, mysterious powers, or a water-breather willing to spot 'em, and perhaps even air-breathers who've recruited water-breathing help to skip the checkpoint and sneak into Atam, which is doable if they're careful. /drevil.jpg

He's also carting around a large, solid-gold looking trident, which implies that he's been into town (he didn't find it himself, but he's got plans to stop by soon), but he definitely hasn't been through the quarantine station. If you'd like a little Atlantean help getting past security, give him a call.]

Well yes I suppose for everyone else here it would just be a useless trinket, wouldn't it?

Fortunately. It means no one else in the JLA gives me dirty looks for not retrieving it fast enough, at least. [He can't imagine Bats or Supes would be too happy with magic artifacts from their world being loose in the foreigner population, even if it's just the Trident of Neptune.] Should we go scavenging again this afternoon?
no subject
If you'd like. It's so nice to have a real ocean to explore again. It feels like it's been forever.

Humans lose all kinds of things in the oceans that they don't bother to recover, we might even find something useful. [Juulan, maybe. Or gold or silver. It doesn't hurt to stockpile funds when rationing is in place and you've got a wife and teenager to look out for.] The waters are nice out here, aren't they?

"No one else?" What, will it zap anyone but you who picks it up? [Nita's an accomplished trident fighter and is thinking of a more mundane sense of the word "use" than controlling the oceans.]

Also sometimes comic book writers switch it up with the Trident of Poseidon and no one can fucking tell the difference.]No, something about the magic in it can only be tapped into by 'Neptune's Chosen'. Back home that was me, and my son after he was able to handle it without it... affecting him.

Marvel just cheerfully mixes the Greek and Roman names within the pantheon.]Oh, huh. We've got one like that back home. It's the king's, surprise, surprise.
[It takes Nita less time than most to work up to being audacious, and there's barely a pause before:]
...Can I hold it?
no subject
Better than having Neptune and Poseidon being separate gods with their own tridents and still mixing them up.]The sea gods, at least, seem to be fairly consistent from world to world. [Poseidon seems to be a thing in at least three worlds that he knows of.]
Sure, I don't see why not. [He's not in any kind of ruler or leader capacity here, it won't be damaging any images to have someone not in his royal family casually waving around his magic trident.]

But then he notices something and frowns, as he lands next to him.] Arthur, is that your trident?
no subject
The fish scatter when Clark lands near them, and Arthur surfaces; he was only a few feet under, trident on his back.] It is. A young... necromancer... found it gathering dust in a junk shop on the mainland. It's definitely mine from home, though.
no subject
I knew some people had found some of their properties on the mainland but I had never known something so powerful could be found.

Think we should go see?

For any air breathers that want help sneaking by security, she's willing. Her powers allow her to make bubbles of hardened water that contain oxygen. Sort of like air tanks]

He might be able to hold his breath enough for these long trips but he still needs air to talk.]

He takes a lungful of fresh air as soon as he gets his head out of the water- he can stay without breathing a lot but it doesn't mean he likes it. Call it a habit.]
