Come on in, the water's great! The fish are happy and well cared for, the water is tropical (which goes for any beach bunnies in our midst, not just the fish people!) There's also the ruins of an approximately iron-age city sunk just off the coast for anyone who can swim to explore! It's visible about four meters down. It's mostly old buildings, walkways/etc, that are covered in ocean detritus. Some things could be brought back to the surface. Maybe you'll even find old treasure? Who knows! Have fun exploring.OOC: This is the catchall log for Ocean Shenanigans. This includes water-breathers on holiday, air-breathers with high lung capacity, scuba gear, mysterious powers, or a water-breather willing to spot 'em, and perhaps even air-breathers who've recruited water-breathing help to skip the checkpoint and sneak into Atam, which is doable if they're careful. /drevil.jpg

If she cares to figure it out, she can probably make whirlpools or some shit with it! Controlling water is fun. For the moment, though, he'll chalk it up to the trident responding to another Atlantean in a world with very few of them.]

[Nita's a few maneuvers into one of the basic forms before she notices the weird feeling of the trident's magic responding to her touch. Experimentally, she adds a blast of water to one of the thrusts, kicking up sand from the seafloor when she underestimates how powerful the trident is.]
...I thought you said you had to be one of Neptune's chosen to use this thing.

I... thought that was the rule, honestly. Only the royal family really has access to it back home. Primarily my heir and me. [Mera, too, but she doesn't need sea god magic when she's got her own powers.]

Oh, well. That explains it. I'm the heir presumptive. The king's my cousin.
[Nita doesn't hide that she's a princess. She just doesn't bother mentioning it most of the time, because she's used to not having to back home, and she doesn't really see the relevance most of the time. It's not like surface dwellers are obliged to take orders from her.]

...That does sort of explain things though. 'Neptune's chosen' back home pretty much referred to his family since ocean-dwelling heroes are hard to come by (and most of them end up related to him anyway, see Deep Blue).] You never mentioned you were a princess. [Not that it really changes much.]

[She's wrong about it not meaning anything on the surface, but she takes the protection of her rank and her powerful cousin for granted. She lives in New York where the trappings of protocol are absent, and it lets her think her position doesn't mean much.]

He just shoots her a slight smile, almost what one might consider playful.] Still, I might have liked to know for future reference, Princess. [Is that teasing? That's teasing.]
no subject
[Considering Nita's perfectly happy to eat boxed mac 'n' cheese with a plastic spoon, she is perhaps not entirely serious.]
no subject
I have to wonder just how many people the trident will respond to now, though. [It's something the rest of the League would probably like to know, just in case.]
