Situation: The X-Dudes are going camping! It's been a while since they've spent some quality time together, and there's a lot to catch up on.

It felt like it had been weeks since Santo had just sat down and had any bro time with Victor. Not that they always had to spend time together, but things had just been busy and tense lately, and Santo had spent so much time trying to keep at least one job to earn enough money for them, that it really started to seem like he only saw his best friend in the mornings when he left to go work more and in the evenings when he'd pretty much crash onto his bed right away.

If it didn't seem like that already, it became obvious when Santo found out that he was practically the last person to know that Victor had a boyfriend now.

So, leaving the city for a few days to try and find more solid stone that he could build his body out of just seemed like a good excuse to go camping and reconnect. Santo hadn't found anything much better than what he already had yet, but he was losing mass through general wear and tear, so he needed to build himself a new body. He wasn't that concerned though. Santo was more interested in camping out right now, poking at the small fire they'd built before pulling out the sack with the rations he'd saved for this.

"So... Do you want to tell me what's been going on now? Kind of feels like we haven't said more than a four words to each other lately," He shrugs, taking a piece of bread before passing a much larger one over to Victor.

Santo clenches his fists, feeling like he could punch Victor right now and it wouldn't be a joke. He'd spent so long feeling about Nicky dying in his arms. He still hasn't completely gotten over it, and he'd have to live for the rest of his life knowing that his friend was dead because he was too stupid to realize that he was being played... And Victor was trying to take that away from him now.

"Shut up," He murmurs, tensing up for a moment before putting his hand on Victor's shoulder, holding onto him because if he didn't then he'd do something worse... That he didn't want to do. "What happened... It happened, and that's all it is. It was all on that bastard Pierce."

Victor didn't think he was trying to take anything away. He just wondered if things could have gone differently if he didn't spend so long avoiding his friends and the X-men. And once Santo told him about what Ruth may have seen, the thoughts came back.

He glances up at Santo when that hand falls onto his shoulder and scowls. "That cyborg jackass..." he trails off, tossing a stick into the fire.

"That cyborg jackass..." Santo murmurs, eventually releasing Victor and turning back to the fire, sitting up and putting his arms around his legs. "It's all his fault, so don't say stupid shit like that again."

Victor mimics the pose, resting his chin on his knees. "Summers and Frost's fault too," he mutters. "For making us all split up like that and abandoning us."

"Yeah, that one's obvious, though. Everything that happens to us is their fault," He replies, eventually relaxing again and nudging Victor lightly. "Let's talk about something else, man. We're out here on vacation, and this is just depressing."

Victor rocks with the nudge and then nudges Santo right back. "Then pick something else and we can talk."

"Why do I have to pick out the topic?" He laughs and pulls Victor into a one-armed side hug, pulling him close. "I didn't plan to talk about anything other than getting you to tell me all about your boy toy."

"Because you asked," Victor laughs as well, leaning into the hug. "Then ask more about him if that's what you wanted to know."

"You have to contribute to the conversation too, dude," Santo laughs. He's not letting go of Victor though, just loosely hanging his arm over his friend's shoulders while he watches the fire. "Fine, I'll ask more stuff about him... So like... When did you and he decide your meeting was a date? Like, did you make the first move or was he just all over you?"

"I plan on it, I'm just making you start," Victor replies, nudging Santo again. He doesn't mind the contact, just watching the fire and leaning on Santo. "Well, I was pretty sure it was a date when he started asking if he could get a closer look at my body," Victor admits. "He said it'd be a date shortly after that."

"Jerk," Santo huffs. He doesn't say anything while Victor talks, nodding along with the conversation... At least until he hears one certain part. "Whoa wait. I thought you said you hadn't seen him naked yet?"

"I haven't," Victor replies, blushing faintly. "What part of that sounded like I saw him naked?"

"So, what? You just got naked for him without him doing the same?" He raises a brow. "Dude, you're not supposed to be that easy."

Victor facepalms. "No! He hasn't seen me naked either," Victor groans. "Most either of us has gotten is shirtless and that's just because we were in swimtrunks when the turtle stopped in that warm place."

"Okay..." He's still looking at Victor like he totally doesn't get the situation at all, or that he's looking for something to find wrong with Wally still. "So you didn't get naked for him to "get a closer look" and your body?" Santo loves air-quotes.

Victor just gives Santo a look. "Yeah. As in see me in person as opposed to over the consoles."

Santo's just going to return that look with one of his own. Because, "Really? Couldn't you have just said it that way instead of making it sound a hundred times more awkward than it actually was?"

"Hey, I was just saying it like he said it," Victor counters. "It's not my fault your mind is in the gutter," he teases. Not that Victor's didn't go to the exact same place when Wally said it to him.

"Oh yeah?" He knows Victor well enough to be certain that his mind went to the exact same place. He's just giving his best friend a knowing look, squeezing his shoulder. "Sounds like Wally's was too... I'll have to talk to him about that."

Victor shoots Santo a little look. "No, you do not need to talk to Wally about anything like that. No need to talk with him about anything sex related."

"I don't know, dude. I think I might have to talk to him about it," Who knows if Santo is joking or not. "It's my business to make sure he respects you and doesn't try anything untoward."

"I'm more than capable of handling any attempts at him being untoward, grandpa," Victor rolls his eyes. "And what if I want him to make a move?"

"I know what it's like to be young and horny, Vic. I'm not letting you make stupid decisions," That's Santo's job. "Shouldn't you be the one making the move anyway?" Someone hasn't explained to Santo the dynamics of gay sex or that his friend might not be a top.

"Santo, did you forget who you're talking to?" Vic asks, arching a brow. "What are you talking about? There's no set rules about who can make moves."

"I know who you are, Victor..." Which means he doesn't get why the green mutant is asking. "So, what, you're waiting for him to get on his knees first?"
