WATER SECTOR
That'd be why he's checking out every fountain, snow drift, and entryway to see if Sven is hanging out in there. And, yeah, that means he's probably just stuck his head into YOUR house to say:]
Hey, you seen a reindeer around here?
no subject
At the question, he blinks for a moment, and shakes his head.] No, I haven't seen any reindeer. Are you looking for a particular one?
no subject
Yeah. [He straightens up and holds a hand up to about head level.] He's my height. Shaggy. Goes by the name Sven?
[Not like a guy that hasn't seen a reindeer would be helped by that, but --]
Is that a fish?
[Hang on, pointing at the fish bowl. And the weird clothing. Oooooookay...]
no subject
[He glances down casually at the fish in the bowl and nods.] His name is Nemo. We're going to pick out fish-sized houses for the pool so he and Verne can stop fighting over territory.
no subject
Finally, someone sane.]
That's tricky. What happens if Verne likes the new house and ousts Nemo?
no subject
The plan is to get two exactly the same, and put them on opposite sides of the pool. Nemo only gets to pick them out because Verne was biting at his fins this morning. Bettas. [Accompanied by a 'what're you gonna do' sigh.]
I don't think I've seen you around before. Are you new to the Water Sector?
no subject
Smart. [A thoughtful nod. It really is. Nemo gets the first carrot, so to speak, because Verne hasn't been behaving.] You're not new to this fish game, are you?
[Then, a shake of his head.]
New to the sector. New to-- [A pause, then a frustrated roll of his eyes.] New to all of this.
no subject
[That gets a sympathetic nod from Arthur. It can be pretty overwhelming when you first show up here, especially if you've been separated from someone. He was lucky his wife showed up with him, even if she's gone now.] It can be a difficult adjustment, but it isn't horrible here, all things considered. Have you tried looking for your Sven around the shops and grocery stores? I was heading that way, I could show you around.
no subject
Finally! You get it. [He almost wants to hug Arthur for that.] People don't have a thing on animals. I'd trust Sven with my life before a human any day.
[And then a deep breath as he processes the rest.]
And horrible? No. Horrible's being out of work because there's ice everywhere. This... [Another beat. A sigh.] This could be worse. [Which is kind of his admission that, yeah, he should be able to adapt. It just sucks.]
These shops wouldn't be owned by an Oaken, would they?

So far, though, no luck in that department. But what she does see is a familiar outfit poking his head into a house a few doors down from her, and instantly Anna brightens. She jumps up, waving her arms (because that's sure to catch his attention) and shouting.] Kristoff!
[And she takes off in a run to catch up with him. Who cares what he's doing at the moment; Anna asked for help to find Elsa and with the sheer amount of snow around here, Elsa's got to be here, which means Kristoff is going to help her because he agreed to back home.]
no subject
Anna? Wait.]
Anna?!
[Better. Only not, because he suddenly straightens up and smacks his head on the frame of the doorway.]
Ouch!
[He withdraws, rubbing his head and-- Anna, right! He looks around for her.]
Anna! What are you doing here?
no subject
I should be asking you that! I'm looking for my sister and you're supposed to be hel-
[She's practically reached Kristoff when it happens. She completely slips on a patch of ice, and she lets out a startled yelp as she hits the ground butt first. Wincing, she reaches back to rub at where it hurts.]
Ow...
no subject
Careful there, feisty.
[He looks her over, noting that her hair is (thankfully) not nearly as white as when he last saw it. Seems that Hans was right about her being better. Thank the heavens for that; he lets out a relieved sigh for it.]
And I've been looking for Sven. [That's his protest to her accusation, because PRIORITIES.] Have you seen him? [Said as he looks over her head for signs of the reindeer.]
no subject
[And then she blinks, surprised.] Sven? You- You lost Sven?!? How do you just lose your reindeer?? What happened to your- your magic connection to him? [Yeah, that's what it is. Magic connection.]
no subject
It's not that kind of connection. Sven and I are childhood friends! He's known me longer than my family has, but there's nothing unnatural about what we have.
[He crosses his arms and huffs. Once. And then looks around.]
We must have been separated when we got here. I've been looking for him for hours and if he doesn't show soon... [A shake of his head.] I'm going to have to -- [A pause as he speaks louder, as though to summon the errant reindeer.] -- EAT HIS CARROTS.
[...nothing. Not even a whisper of a grunt that he could translate into "but you promised I could have first bite!"]
no subject
[Kristoff's attempt to make Sven materialize from out of nowhere... just makes Anna smile. Which she tries to hide by tightly pressing her lips together while she gives the area a quick sweep of her own.]
Hmm... He must be somewhere, though. Do you think maybe Olaf could've wound up somewhere with him?
no subject
[Kristoff voices it in an almost shrill monotone, because... she's making it sound weird! Anna, you're cute when you're weird, but it's not cute when it's making him weird and why is his brain running around in such backwards patterns?
He stops. Sighs. And then the Olaf connection kicks in.]
Olaf? Of course. Sven'd be after his nose!
[He thumps a fist down against his palm in a decisive motion. Eureka!]
That means if we find Olaf...

Sorry this is late
No, I haven't. Did you lose your pet?
never late! ...though I am
First, he's not my pet. He's my best friend. [He says as he crosses his arms. Don't any of you people have animal friends?] Second, yes. He's been missing since I got here.
no subject
Have you considered the possibility that your friend didn't arrive with you? I was standing next to a few people the moment I was brought here, but none of them followed me here.
no subject
And-- [Had he thought about that?] No. [His shoulders deflate a bit at that admission.] That'd be ridiculous! Why not bring Sven?
no subject
Why weren't my traveling companions brought with me? Whatever spell summoned us here is- rather erratic, I'm afraid.
no subject
Spell? As in magic.
[That's not a tone of disbelief, just a flat delivery. He's clarifying.]

[A reference to the wintery landscape and a roll of his eyes.]
And don't ask me. I'm an ice harvester, not a magician. All I know is that magic can ruin a man's livelihood.
