Situation: The rationing is officially lifted and the kedan are celebrating by conducting one citywide yard sale! Think big! Think small! Think tribbles! Think all!

The morning of the 21st kicks off with heralds roving about the city of Keeliai to declare that the rationing edict has been lifted and that citizens no longer have to contribute one-fifth of their productions (juulan or physical goods) to the communal stores maintained by the police force. These announcements trigger a state of celebration across the city as kedan drag months worth of hoarded items to the street to sell, steal, or trade in a wave of mercantile goodness that stretches for nearly a week. Not even the rising tide of tribbles seems to dampen their spirit, with kedan citywide finding new and inventive uses for the fuzzy paperweights.

Characters are free to do as they will during this event, with police oversight relaxed in the aftermath of the long rationing and strained relations. Impromptu sales out of suites will rarely be inspected and purchase made elsewhere are no longer monitored. Everyone is taking a breath of fresh air, so to speak, and most do not want their first fun in months to be ruined.

It was...kind of an accident.

[There is a chirping noise and a small(...ish) Swizard peering out from behind him, also.]

You accidentally bought a florist's?

[One of the flowers looks like it's about to fall. She makes a grab for it before she thinks to ask:]

You want some help with it?

Yes, please.

[He doesn't mean to come off as exasperated as he does, but he's kind of buried under flowers.]

Come here.

[She steers him to the nearest empty corner of a street stall, much to the annoyance of the kedan manning it, and uses the space to divide the flowers up into two much more manageably sized bouquets, scooping up the larger for herself.]

They're nice blossoms, though. You could have done much worse on accident.

Yeah...I was asking for seeds, but I think he misunderstood me when I tried to explain a blossomgale.

[With a less monstrous pile of flowers, Asbel does manage to smile over them at Dinah.]

Not a problem. [She grins.] I used to be a florist, and I bet we could get some beautiful arrangements out of this. But what's a blossomgale?

Oh! [Asbel smiles a little broader.] It's something that can happen with sopherias, when they're around enough other flowers. I have some sopheria seeds with me from home, but...

[He pauses, that's not what it is is. Focus.] Anyway, when they bloom, a blossomgale is basically exactly that. The wind blows them all over, and after it passes through flowers bloom everywhere. I thought Asti could use something like that.

[Dinah's jaw drops a little, and then she breaks out into a smile]

You're right, that sounds exactly what Asti needs. I don't think there are any flowers on my world that do that. But I'd love to see it.

[heartofgraces]

I hope it works. But even if it doesn't, there'll still be plenty of flowers, right?

[Asbel smiles a little softly.] I don't think there's anything wrong with wanting things that bring us peace.

You will get no argument from me on that. I used to spend whole evenings just sitting in my store, enjoying the flowers. My Mom always said it was important to surround ourselves with beauty, so we know what we're fighting for.
