Situation: The rationing is officially lifted and the kedan are celebrating by conducting one citywide yard sale! Think big! Think small! Think tribbles! Think all!
Warnings/Rating: Tribbles. Lots of tribbles. Please indicate content warnings in subject headers as applicable.
The morning of the 21st kicks off with heralds roving about the city of Keeliai to declare that the rationing edict has been lifted and that citizens no longer have to contribute one-fifth of their productions (juulan or physical goods) to the communal stores maintained by the police force. These announcements trigger a state of celebration across the city as kedan drag months worth of hoarded items to the street to sell, steal, or trade in a wave of mercantile goodness that stretches for nearly a week. Not even the rising tide of tribbles seems to dampen their spirit, with kedan citywide finding new and inventive uses for the fuzzy paperweights.
Characters are free to do as they will during this event, with police oversight relaxed in the aftermath of the long rationing and strained relations. Impromptu sales out of suites will rarely be inspected and purchase made elsewhere are no longer monitored. Everyone is taking a breath of fresh air, so to speak, and most do not want their first fun in months to be ruined.

[The thing is, Dick rarely tells lies. About the big things, sure, like being a crime fighter in a mask, but most of his stories are true. Which is what makes them all interesting.
Glancing at the open stall, he looks back at her and grins.] Challenge accepted. But I have to tell you... [And here, as he walks to that open space, he bends down and pushes into a handstand, walking the rest of the way there on his hands.] Pretty much anyone can do flips. You don't have to be in a circus to do that.
[He turns around, still on his hands, so he can look at her upside down.] I'm flattered, but if I say he is, then it'd just be awkward, and if I say he isn't, then it's just as awkward. So I'm going to guess...
[He tilts slightly, pushing onto just one hand.] Red?

Well, we both know you're attractive, so it would only be awkward if you said no and he found out about it. But my lips are sealed if yours are. [She flashes an almost wicked grin for a split second before her genuine smile returns.]
Red's fine for clothes and maybe some paint, but no. Are you done embarrassing yourself yet?

My lips are always sealed. There's no better secret keeper out there then me. Just ask anyone who's told me secrets and I never revealed them. [Dick laughs, going back onto both of his hands.]
Nope. So, I'm going to guess... green? [He's not going to stop walking on his hands until you tell him your favorite color.]

[Hayley continues to watch him until he returns to two hands and is back to guessing her favorite color. Then her attention shifts back to potential buyers and she continues selling some things, making note of his efforts to emphasize his status as a secret keeper. She directs her words to him even as she continues making sales.]
Nope. Are you really just going to keep guessing until I say yes?

But as she sells things, and takes her time, Dick is okay with that. Though, he does come out of the handstand, waiting a moment before jumping up so he can carefully balance himself on the top of the edge of a stall. It could collapse with one wrong move. But he had this.]

[She glances over to him and makes a very rough and awkward mermaid outline with her hands, then immediately returns to selling. Hayley can't help a small smile again, at his increasingly ridiculous maneuvers, because they are pretty awesome. Not that she'll tell him that right now.]
It's purple, okay? You can stop. [Her voice is meant to sound more exasperated than she is, but it fails. Instead, she sounds almost amused.]

[He's not like... oh. Took him a moment to figure out that that was a mermaid. He waits till there's a little bit of a break before he hops back down with a grin.]
Purple! I was going to guess purple next, it was on the tip of my tongue. I really had that one next. So now that I have an answer, you can ask a question! [Look, he made her not quite laugh but not quite be annoyed, either!]

After selling another handful of tribble jerky, she glances over to Dick again.]
Why are you here talking to me when you could be pretty much anywhere doing a million other things? [It's a sincere question. She's actually kind of grateful for the company, but it seems strange to her that she's been attracting so many decent conversations from so many passing strangers today.]

Ah, but why is he still here? Good question, and he'll give it an honest answer.] Honestly? I'm hiding from a few people. I have a lot of family here already, and I'm still trying to figure out what to do with them all.
[He rubs the back of his head and shrugs.] But I can hide somewhere else, if you'd like. I should probably get going, anyway, I need to pick up a few necessary items... but before I do, I'm going to have to buy three tribble pelts from you!

With the latter, she sweeps one of her arms in a broad gesture to display the assortment of furs that they have for sale. While not particularly eager to get rid of him, she also doesn't really care if he stays.] And which ones do you like?

[Dick picks one up, inspecting it.] And my... [His voice trails off a second, before he smiles. Not a big smile, not a grin. Just a soft, sincere one, for his own sake.]

[He grins.] But it was fun. See ya! [And for show, he continues to back up with his eyes on her. And then turns right before he hits something, because that would just be embarrassing.]
