Situation: Tu Vishan makes landfall at the winterbound republic of Bresilyk!

The starting point of landfall and the smallest port of importance in all the republic. All visitors will have a fish mark stamped on their tin visa if they are granted access here. The homes here are sturdy and built to withstand the harsh sea winds, though the dome has rendered their sturdiness largely irrelevant as the years pass. Fish represent the primary theme of food, with preserved and smoked renditions a commodity often sent for trade to others towns. Local authorities will ask for the tin card visa of each visitor upon first sight, verifying the information with some scrutiny before handing it back and allowing them to continue onwards. There are some auctions held here, with the items obtained often showing signs of recovery from the ocean floor by diving parties in search of fish to net.

[It's the first landfall for Hal since he came here, and after being stuck on that turtle for so long he's more than eager for new places and a breath of fresh air.

He doesn't go in hero mode since its not like he needs to - Hal just wants to enjoy himself after all, and this place seems like a good start. After getting into the place he starts wandering around, impressed by the sights and just generally enjoying the chance to stretch his legs after being on Tu Vishan for the last few months.

Hal passes by the auction entirely by chance. At first he doesn't pay much interest, but then he sees a lot for something that seems very familiar and when Hal goes to check it out, he instantly freezes.

Oh. Oh noooo.

[Darcy had been watching the auction for a while. Sure, there were other interesting things to look at, and she certainly didn't have enough money for much of anything the auction was offering, but it was fun to watch. She particularly enjoyed two people going head to head over the same time, watching the price jumping higher and higher.

Mostly she's having fun people-watching. Everyone in the area was high energy and excitement. Everyone except that one guy just a few people over that looked like he'd just seen a ghost or something. She sauntered over, hands in her coat pockets.]

Hey. You alright there?

[Hal glances over to the voice who talks to him, and in other times he might have been trying to give her a once over, debating his chances - but now 1) he's attached and 2) his lantern is there, so suffice to say Hal is pretty distracted.]

I--uh. [Looks back to where his lantern is again, and then back.] Yeah.

[God how does he do this auction thing now because Hal would really like his lantern back, thank you very much. Having to try and mooch from the others has been getting plenty depressing.]

[Darcy glances at the auction item and them back to him.]

You into lanterns or something?

['Into lanterns'. It would be funny if it wasn't terrible at the same time.]

Yes--I mean no. [Make sense, Hal.] I mean-- [Points to it.] --that's mine.

You mean you put it into the auction?

[corage]

[Hal wishes that would be the case. At least then he can say its a screw up.]

No, it was back home. [Just... how the hell did it get there??]

And somehow it ended up there?

[She arches an eyebrow and looks back at the lantern.]

You're sure that it's yours? Maybe it just looks similar.

[corage]

No, I'm pretty sure it's mine.

[The ring in his pocket is telling him that much, at least.

Hal looks back again and makes a face. Seriously, now what should he do about it - he does need his lantern back, after all.]

Okay. [She shrugged slightly.]

So you either need to tell someone in charge about that...or get bidding. I'd be fast if I were you, though. Looks like a few people might be interested in it.

[Ugh yeah he really does need to do something but... what. Hal has no idea what to do.]

I don't even know if I can find the person in charge. [And it looks like the lantern is coming up soon, which just makes things even worse.]

Well. How much money do you have on you then?

[And cue his doppleganger coming to a stop with the exact same expression.]

Is that--

[He had his, Kyle had his, the only person here who didn't have their own lantern was him.]

Is that your lantern?!

[corage]

[WHY ARE YOU HERE OTHER SELF YOU'RE THE LAST PERSON HAL WANTED TO DEAL THIS SITUATION WITH.]

Do you know any other Lantern who needs his power battery?? [Seriously, other self, you suck. And now Hal will spend a moment to indulge in his panic because why is his lantern there.]

[Frank hadn't really been paying much attention to the things being auctioned, it's not like he had much money to waste in there anyway. But places like these were- interesting, to say the least, when it came to watching people's reactions and fights over simple objects. These were the kind of things his grandmother would have used to get expensive stuff back in China to sell in Canada, but he still finds it hard to be interested in the stuff as much as the people.

Which is when he sees Hal's face.]

Dude, are you okay? [The mechanical voice comes from Frank's little "watch" after he types in it, and not his mouth.]

[corage]

[The voice takes Hal by surprise for a moment, and then he turns to the other guy Hal blinks for a moment. Mostly because he had almost been expecting a cyborg or something similar.]

Yeah, I'm fine. [Except for the fact that his lantern is there. Hal glances back at it, trying to debate on what to do. He can't just go up there and steal it, after all.]

[iguanasolution]

[Nope, no cyborgs here... even though Frank's pretty sure Leo would try to turn him into one to make him speak again, if he let him. The little watch-device is all Frank will allow, and he's grateful for it.]

Are you sure? You look like you've seen a ghost. Is that yours?

[corage]

[Hal turns back and nods almost too quickly.]

Yeah, unforturnately.

[iguanasolution]

It happens. Some things from our world ending up here in the mainland I mean, but it hasn't happened to me yet.

[A pause.] Do you need the money? What's the problem?

[corage]

[Oh, so its not a one-time thing then... guess that does make it better, a little. Somewhat.

But it doesn't really change the fact that his lantern is there now.]

Yeah, well--I'm not sure if I have enough funds to get it back, you know?

[iguanasolution]

[Cue Frank reaching for his pocket and handing him a handful of Juulan with a sheepish expression. Helping a superhero gives you good Karma or something, right?]

[corage]

[Hal blinks for a moment, surprised, and then he shakes his head.]

Nah, they're yours. It wouldn't be right to take it.

[Unlike his counterpart, Hal does not like to leech money from people unless they are close buddies.]

[Frank shrugs as if saying 'if you say so', but he's honestly glad. He did it without thinking and he kind of needs the money for important things like
