Event | Landfall | Bresilyk | Aihsohlow
Characters: Any and all!
Date: December 3 - 11, 2013
Location: Aihsohlow, Bresilyk (landfall)
Situation: Tu Vishan makes landfall at the winterbound republic of Bresilyk!
Warnings/Rating: Please include warnings in comment subject lines
OOC Post | Approved Items | Special Gifts
Aihsohlow | Phorezton | Markutte | Countryside
The starting point of landfall and the smallest port of importance in all the republic. All visitors will have a fish mark stamped on their tin visa if they are granted access here. The homes here are sturdy and built to withstand the harsh sea winds, though the dome has rendered their sturdiness largely irrelevant as the years pass. Fish represent the primary theme of food, with preserved and smoked renditions a commodity often sent for trade to others towns. Local authorities will ask for the tin card visa of each visitor upon first sight, verifying the information with some scrutiny before handing it back and allowing them to continue onwards. There are some auctions held here, with the items obtained often showing signs of recovery from the ocean floor by diving parties in search of fish to net.

Oh? What did they have of yours?

But the concession pleases him, enough that the bright smile is back on his face as he raises his hand again so he can step back onto the bidding war battleground.]
Done. [Even without the offer of payment, he would've done it anyway.] And I found a token from home.
[Fishing the thing out of his pocket, he shows it to Arthur: a bowtie, the faded red color still managing to stand out as a bright pop of color in the crowds.
Don't laugh. :(]

He's mildly relieved that the concession seems to have dissipated any offense, because while he usually doesn't care what people think, Barry is closer to a friend than a lot of other surfacers. So with that decided, he places the occasional bid, though Barry is obviously faster, and tries to intimidate the other buyers with his stare. If there's one thing Arthur Curry is good at, it's looking menacing, though-] It's times like these I miss the harpoon hand.
[And then Barry is showing him his item, and Arthur's not sure what he expects, but he does manage not to laugh. After all, he's the one trying to buy back his pants.] I see. I've always wondered how our things can turn up in these places.

[He's not even sure he'll have opportunity to wear the thing on Tu Vishan. There hasn't exactly been a large number of fancy dress balls since he's arrived, and even if there had been he's never been one for elaborate parties. That's the one good thing about being gone for so long - he hasn't been forced to attend formal parties in years.
The not good thing about being gone for so long is that it's left him clueless on a whole number of happenings, such as the:]
Harpoon hand? [That earns Arthur a frown.] I missed that one.

The frown he gets makes Arthur frown slightly too. Right, Barry wasn't... around, those years.] Ah, right. Long story short, my hand was eaten by piranhas a while back. The harpoon was not a terrible substitute.

You walked around with a harpoon for a hand. [That is not a question, that is a statement of utter disbelief, coupled with a blatant look at Arthur's appendages now.] And how long did that last for?
