EVENT | LANDFALL | KITHIKA | DRAGON
Characters: ALL!
Date: February 12th - 28th
Location: Keeliai
Situation: The discovery of an artifact from the first war against Malicant reveals the land of Kithika within a dimension of the Death Plane... and just happens to be contained inside a bottle.
Warnings/Rating: Please indicate content warnings in subject headers as applicable.
OOC INFORMATION ♦ CITY OF KEELIAI ♦ INSIDE THE BOTTLE ♦ THE WORLD EATER
For nearly two days the brave quest takers have been sequestered at the sullied Temple and its grounds, the thick jungle and swamp preventing them from leaving. There are faint tremors that run through the ground and in the middle of the third night, the ground gives a great heave, jostling everyone from their rested states. In one of the Temple rooms, a sinkhole has appeared to reveal not spongy ground beneath, but a dark tunnel leading down into the earth. It doesn't take much to widen the entrance and follow the gentle downward slope that leads out to the north, and a walk of about two hours (which surely would feel like longer to those who don't enjoy being trapped in low, dank places) leads them under the swamp itself. By the time the tunnel slopes upward, the muddy ground has turned hard and packed with small chips of rock and sand; the terrain above is changing and as they emerge upward through a fissure in the ground...
---
OOC NOTE: The Aftermath comment will be unfrozen and its direction posted on February 23rd, based on the outcome of the other threads.

[He looks at the corrupted spot Kyle points out before shaking his head.] Not yeah. I was going to try. But...I'm not even sure where to start, honestly. All I really have are my claws. [He's not fond of the idea of having to touch the stuff.]
no subject
[He says it in jest, but he wouldn't really be surprised. Many are from worlds like his, or similar.]
[He gestures to them both to get closer, and then rings up a giant glowing claw himself.]
Good idea - let's see what happens when we touch the stuff.
[It's the best plan, isn't it? The construct touches goo and sinks, the liquid around it bubbling angrily, and starts spewing goo at them.]
no subject
Uh...okay. Why not? [He watches as the glowing claw forms with interest and gets himself ready to help. What he isn't expecting is for the goo to spray out at them.]
Oh, gross!
no subject
I'm from space, everything looks "like this".
[The pustule stops spewing, and he peeks over, gingerly, grimacing. It's grown larger.]
Sorry about that, by the way. Not the best plan.
no subject
That is so wrong. [He looks at the now larger pustule with distaste and disappointment.] What do we do now?
no subject
[Despite whatever personal issues he's had with it all lately, he'll always be proud of who he is and what he does.]
No worries if you haven't heard of us specifically, not a lot of people have, but the job description's a pretty common one.
[He looks at the pustule.]
Well... let's go find a smaller one. Maybe something around there'll help.
no subject
I haven't, but that's not really surprising if you stay in space. [Not to mention the possibility that they're from different universes altogether, which is likely.]
You think so? What if they just keep getting bigger? We could end up making it worse.
no subject
[Or as neutral as they can get, they're equal opportunity assholes.]
Well - let's hope they don't get bigger. Have I mentioned I hate this gunk? I really do.
no subject
I'm not a fan of it either. It's all fun and games until someone gets gunk in the eye.
no subject
Luckily it's not radioactive gunk - and if it isn't I hope I didn't jinx it.
no subject
[He shakes his head, a slight grin appearing on his face.] That's really not helpful.
