EVENT | LANDFALL | KITHIKA | DRAGON
Characters: ALL!
Date: February 12th - 28th
Location: Keeliai
Situation: The discovery of an artifact from the first war against Malicant reveals the land of Kithika within a dimension of the Death Plane... and just happens to be contained inside a bottle.
Warnings/Rating: Please indicate content warnings in subject headers as applicable.
OOC INFORMATION ♦ CITY OF KEELIAI ♦ INSIDE THE BOTTLE ♦ THE WORLD EATER
For nearly two days the brave quest takers have been sequestered at the sullied Temple and its grounds, the thick jungle and swamp preventing them from leaving. There are faint tremors that run through the ground and in the middle of the third night, the ground gives a great heave, jostling everyone from their rested states. In one of the Temple rooms, a sinkhole has appeared to reveal not spongy ground beneath, but a dark tunnel leading down into the earth. It doesn't take much to widen the entrance and follow the gentle downward slope that leads out to the north, and a walk of about two hours (which surely would feel like longer to those who don't enjoy being trapped in low, dank places) leads them under the swamp itself. By the time the tunnel slopes upward, the muddy ground has turned hard and packed with small chips of rock and sand; the terrain above is changing and as they emerge upward through a fissure in the ground...
---
OOC NOTE: The Aftermath comment will be unfrozen and its direction posted on February 23rd, based on the outcome of the other threads.

Not that Bart can recall. He had always got the impression that Supes was. Y'know. Like Wally was with Bart. The whole I never asked for a sidekick/good cause I'm not a sidekick thing. Only not like Wally, because Wally still turned up at birthdays and holidays.
And now Bart has this miniature scowl on his face, because somewhere along the way to being mad at himself for making Wally sound like a deadbeat dad… he realizes that Supes kinda is one. That's probably why Kon looks so irritated. Can't blame him. ]
Everybody hugged it out? [That came out snottier than one of those baby booger squeegees.] good. Why aren't we fighting the dragon anymore? It's a dragon. I know how this goes. Read the books, seen the vids, played the games. The hero - in this case, one of us - saves everyone by slaying the mighty, mindless, man-eating beast. That guy over there. And there. And there. Andthereandthereandthere - look he's really long, OK? But you guys know what I mean. Maybe not you, Jor. Sorry, I dunno about creatures of Kryptonian myth and legends. S.B. and Supes. They know.
no subject
Maybe Kon-El can do it himself.]
Nothing happened. [He replies, purposely ignoring Bart.] We're fine and unharmed. We're just trying to get the dragons's attention, bringing it on our side. Everyone's attacking it so just getting rid of those who hurt it is becoming pretty easy.
You'll help us, right? Like a family?
no subject
Kon moved away from Kal, looked to Jor and back again, then to Bart and again back to Kal. His hands had balled into fists.]
Are you insane? Don't answer that. There's no way I'm going to help you guys. I'm not gonna help you hurt people. Our people. What the hell Kal?! We should be helping them, not the damn dragon!
no subject
You wouldn't want us to think you'd betray your own family in favor of others, do you?
[He stares at Bart for a moment.]
no subject
I dunno what's gotten into you two, but. Newsflash. I've known Kon longer than you. [He stabs a finger in the air, pointing at Jor.]
And better than either of you. We're family. And we're not 'betraying' anybody, we're going to do whatever's in favor of the most people getting the best result. Y'know, like not having a city full of scuzzy smoke and a bottle full of fire-breathing dragon. [Come to think of it, he's not sure the dragon breathes fire. Whatever. On a roll here.] C'mon, Kon. Let's just deal with the stupid dragon and then we can worry about Siegfried and Roy here..
no subject
Kon isn't going to help them out, that much is evident even before he opens his mouth. Not when his reaction to their generous offer is that look of pure disgust- a disappointment, really, but he guesses there's a reason he was never truly close to the kid. He gave him his family name, he made him an El- and this is how he repays him? He knew humans were ungrateful but he'd thought Kon would be able to overcome that thanks to his Kryptonian genes.
And the human kid is really, incredibly, preposterously annoying. ]
You'll have to repeat that, Kon-El. The buzzing of a really annoying insect made me hear that you would actually refuse to help us out. Which is obviously not what's going on, not when everything you are right now is thanks to me, not when you wouldn't even exist if it weren't for me- and because you are also fully aware that I could easily fix that if your existence proved futile. [There's no more warning before he reaches to slap Bart right in the mouth with the back of his hand, fully intending to send him flying backwards.] Better. Care to repeat it?
no subject
And then he sees Kal move to hit Bart and its too fast for him to do anything other than shout out.]
Bart!
[Kal moving to hit one of his friends, his best friend was something he never thought he'd see. Even with how he was acting right now. Kon's eyes were wide with surprise and then his anger took over and he could feel himself shaking harder than he had been seconds before and his eyes had narrowed more. They took on a red glow as he then looked to Kal before a burst of red beams come from them hitting Kal in the chest. It's short lived as Kon stumbles back, some of the anger draining away and turning into shock as he blinks his eyes repeatedly and brings a hand up What the hell? Since when could he blast off some laser vision?]
no subject
Incapacitating him is more preferable, even if the hybrid did decide to turn his back on them.]
Let me know if this needs editing.
He stays down for a few seconds, kept there by surprise and tasting iron. He doesn't know where the blood is coming from - probably lost a tooth - but he doesn't have time to wonder about it. Fighting Kryptonians. Kon's figured out he's got laser vision, and Jor's got Kon.
Correction: Jor-el HAD Kon. Now, Kid Flash has him safely a few meters away, after scrambling at top speed to get to the two of them. Vibrating other people through objects is one of the sneakier speedster tricks.]
Thisisnothappening. Tell me we've got a plan.
no subject
Bart is fast, incredibly so. He's a Flash and while the idea of a Superman/Flash race for charity has always amused people and made them happy when they tie, they are all very aware that as fast as Superman is he'd never catch up with either of them if they didn't let him.
Kal is aware of that, as humiliating as that is. Which is why he doesn't give the kids a single moment of hesitation and is flying at his highest speed towards Bart's legs, first up in an attempt to do harm before the kid realizes he's coming.]
no subject
Plan? Plan is we stop 'em at all costs. They can't hurt anyone else.
[He was used to fighting King Shark, going toe to toe with Knockout and Sidedoor. Arm. Whatever. Not another Super. Not Kal and not Jor because this was so completely different from any sparring session. This situation, or anything similar, wasn't anything he'd ever thought of. So coming up with a plan wasn't really going to happen other than 'stop them' because all Kon knew in this situation, was to stop them.
Kon didn't even notice that Kal had moved and was coming in their direction until it was too late and suddenly he was shoved. He stumbled back in time to see a blur.]
no subject
That isn't a plan.
[Both Kal-El and his hybrid have expertise in using thier powers. He has intelligence and practice in actual skills]
That's a wish.
[He moves to grab and throw Kon, aiming to dislocate his arm in the process.]
no subject
Because there's absolutely no chance of Bart even walking for it right now. Solid enough to push Kon away means solid enough to take the impact of a very P.O.'d Superman in the next freeze frame, and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that the white-hot burst of pain is a broken femur or two. 'Slower than the Flash' doesnot mean slow, and the reaction time and single action ate up any opportunity to protect himself.
The tackle - or steamrolling - knocks Bart off his feet, but he wouldn't have been able to stay on them anyway. What's worse is that he's driven - backward? Down? The direction becomes hazy when his shoulders and then head slam into something solid and unforgiving.]
Unhh.
[He'd meant that to be a snappy sort of 'WTF are you doing' remark, but, when he opened his mouth, it was all his swimming head could do to keep him from hurling. ]
no subject
[Kal honestly wasn't sure where he was going either, he just knew he couldn't stop tossing the kid around or their chances to get out of this without more than a few scratches would go down exponentially as soon as he recovered enough to go at full-speed. He had managed to get his hand around his throat, and as tempting as it was to kill him by crushing it it seemed anticlimatic.
Instead he crashed him against a tree. Repeatedly. As soon as he was sure the kid would be out for a few minutes he'd focus on the legs.]
no subject
Kon wasn't a stranger to pain but that didn't stop him from crying out. Especially since the force used was in throwing him which caused his arm to stay at an angle as he slammed into the ground, bringing out another cry. He knew he couldn't just lay there though and pushed through everything to get to his feet. He kept his focus on Jor-El and flew after him, planning to use his TTK on him until he passed out, then it would be Kal and he'd get Bart the hell out of this place after finding Tim. That, that was his plan.]
no subject
I have no plans to kill you. Don't make me injure you further.
no subject
He hits the ground, skidding and rolling a few feet with the transferred momentum. When he stops he's on his back, struggling to breath because his chest feels like it's made of lead. It hurt more than his head did, even as it darkened with blood. He can see Clark, still on his feet. Still tidy, he thinks, as his brain can't quite reach words like unhurt and clean. He's almost. Standing over him.
If the world was going to snap back into focus, now would be a really good time, but it wasn't. Too busy burning out at the edges of his vision. Trying to get up stalls when he makes it to his hands and knees, caught between lungs that really want to cough up this blood and a body that can't quite handle it. They are so screwed. The only reason he has time for this at all is because his mind has given up his tenuous grasp on 'normal' time. A glowy young male that looks suspiciously like Bart blinks into existence, crouching down in front of him.]
Get help. Rob. Kyle.
[It's barely more audible than mouthing the words, but the figure nods and takes off running. They'd know what to do. Bart slumps downward, folding til calves met thighs and thighs met chest, his forehead almost touching the ground.]

the next the kid's down on the floor, away from him, hurt but still alive and there's a... blur... a yellow blur running (flying?) away from them, to safety. He isn't sure what's happening but he knows, whatever they do they can't let get the blur get to wherever he's leading.
It takes him around 10 seconds to realize he can't possible even see what he's following, let alone catch up. So he's soon next to the kid again, kicking him so he's turning over with a sneer.] Tell me what that was and I will make your death quicker.
Maybe.
