skericide. Her usual hangouts are at her dojo in Wood, her suite ME-2A, the hospital in Metal, Jack's Fishing Shop in Water, or the Brazen Turtle in the center of Keeliai. But Korra can be at any sector on just about any day. Prose or brackets, they're both good!)

somewhere in the fire sector
To be fair, things hadn't been exactly great since... last month? two months ago? but recently it just seemed like this place was giving him more reasons to feel depressed. He was trying not to, really, but between him quitting the superhero life, Aya berating him and that Saint Walker dude - Hal couldn't help but feel the pressure of just about everything.
Of course, he knew part of the problem was himself, but he had never been good with problems that concerned himself. Besides, it wasn't as if the ring was with anybody bad - Korra seemed good, from what little he knew of her, and she would probably do a better job than he himself ever could.
That still didn't make things easier, though.
There hasn't been much for him to do ever since giving up his ring, and so Hal wanders around the Fire Sector, taking a bit of fresh air after having spent most of the morning cooped up in his place. No matter how long it had been since his arrival here, he still wasn't really happy about being here on this giant turtle.]

Well, that and the gangs. A simple round of tea shopping and sweeping the streets is her idea of a good day.
And she is literally sweeping the streets with a giant green broom that has some gang members trapped in the bristles. But she stops mid-air when she sees Hal. It's his ring, she learned that early on and Korra had no idea if he knew she had it. But obviously he'll know now. She touches on to the ground and her Green Lantern uniform reverts back to her usual clothes.]
Hey. Found something of yours. [She pointes her thumb over her shoulder at the thugs trying to get out.] Not them, I mean.

He almost debates on leaving, but Korra spots him before he can start to make a move, and when she approaches him Hal does his best to keep his face as neutral as possible.]
Hey. [He starts, albeit somewhat weakly.] I... noticed, yeah. Kyle told me.
[And subsequently got pissed at him, but that doesn't matter.]
no subject
He said you’d be wanting it back. [And she holds up the hand bearing the ring.]
Can I ask what made you toss it in the garbage? [Rather landed in the garbage somehow, but details.]
no subject
Personal stuff. Reasons. [He really doesn't want to talk about it.] You can hold onto it, I don't really care.
no subject
You seemed pretty attached to it in Kithika. [A powerful item like the ring isn’t something to be simply dropped. Or at least, Korra can’t see herself doing it ]
no subject
Things change. [He says pretty dismissively.] You're doing a good job anyway, don't see any reason to change it anytime soon.
[You'll probably do it better than he himself ever could, Hal thinks bitterly, but doesn't voice it out. It's not Korra's fault after all, he knows that much.]
no subject
So was it the work itself or Lantern differences?
no subject
Just stuff. Don't really want to talk about it.
[Because 'getting killed by your own older counterpart' is totally something he wants to talk about, yeah.]
no subject
You probably just need the right person to tell it to. [Whoever it is that Hal can trust enough on Tu Vishan.] Maybe then you'll change your mind.
no subject
There's nobody to talk to. [Because everyone? Everyone knows Hal Jordan - the other him who's oh-so successful, so much better than him, who knows what to do best and who everyone looks up to. Not him, the Hal Jordan who he is here. Nobody looks at him and sees him for who he is. Just Hal Jordan, the superhero he'll never be now.]
no subject
You’re kidding. [But she knows he isn’t. That snort’s proof enough.] Have you tried talking to Asti at the turtle’s head? He’s always been a good listener.
[Like their own version of Mogo.]
Or that Saint guy. He’s a floating, blue font of wisdom.
no subject
They don't-- [Ugh why does he even have to explain himself anyway.] This isn't something talking can work out.
no subject
They don’t get it. [It’s easy enough for her to finish the sentence for him. Something she’s talked with Raphael about. More like fight about, but it was practically the same thing when it came to him.
But that gets her to back off. If there’s one thing Korra knows, it’s not having someone who really understand what things are like for you. She spent her first few months in Keeliai dealing with that.]
I hope you find some way to work it out, and if you want the ring back all you have to do is ask. [She’s guessing if she can get a hold of it, then it can be returned as well.]
But I do have a question.
no subject
He grunts at the teenager's words, sort of appreciating them even if he really doesn't think it'll happen all the same. Everyone wants Hal Jordan, after all - not him, the younger, inexperienced version of the same man.]
What? [He then says at her last words. After all, she did take his ring - so he supposes he owes her something at least, for making sure it didn't land on somebody else entirely.]
no subject
What do I do when it starts getting low on power?
no subject
Just drop by my place later. I'll show you what to do. [And pass her the power lantern too, he supposes, since its not like he has a use for it now.]
