It was frustrating when people were from so far into the future that they knew someone else entirely. So far, Kon knew that the people from his universe, were all at least several years into his future. Not months or a year, but a few years.

"I know what Twitter is? Someone told me about that."

He scoffs and shakes his head.

"Nope. Took me in for breaking curfew and refusing to leave an area. I was trying to help after the whole gang disaster. I think he'd rather we just did nothing and let the police deal with everything. But they messed with us, so hell no."

[imaginate]

'It's overrated too.' Kyle had honestly not kept up with social media; that had been Terry's job, and anyway Kyle had spent the majority of the past year in space. It was just disconcerting making a reference that nobody would get, like what happened with Kara. 'Glad I missed that party.'

[tactile_telekinesis]

"I dunno, I think I'd be all over that stuff if we had it now. I mean, I've got the fan pages and chatrooms, but that's not really the same when you hear about this sort of thing."

He would understand, some people here seemed to be too young to remember the things he's just gone through and would stare at him at the references. Kon nods at that.

"Wish I did. But hey, there's probably gonna be loads of chances to do stuff here."

Kyle shrugged. 'Let's just say you can't really tweet from the Watchtower.' It made monitor duty unbearable. Luckily Kyle always had a fully charged ring and never got bored of paddleball.

'What have you been doing?' Since the last time he'd seen Kon like this, there'd been a crowd of adoring fans. It was a little strange without them, Kyle had to admit.

"Really? You'd think you'd be able to. Total suckage."

Kon actually thinks on that for a moment and, well it's nothing like home. He's the same guy but he doesn't have the people here for it. He shrugs.

"I've been working and hanging out. Going to any party that gets thrown up. Being a teen means I get to go to more, so it's pretty sweet. There's no SB fanclub here, so taking it easy on that front."

'The guys on the way here told me I had to work.' They'd said it to him in costume, presumably Green Lantern was more useful to them than Kyle Rayner. 'Is there a newspaper or a bulletin board for jobhunters or something?'

Kon shakes his head and brings a shoulder up.

"No newspaper, actual paper is like a precious resource or something. I know Mr. Kent spoke about setting something up, I think it's going to be more of a digital thing though. I just went and spoke to some of the kedan and found the job I've got. Most of 'em are pretty okay with taking us on."

[imaginate]

He'd already heard Superman was here - but that Kon didn't know Clark Kent was news to him, and then he remembered. The past. Right. 'What are you working as now?'

[tactile_telekinesis]

Well, he did know Superman was Clark back home. It hadn't been outright confirmed for him, but he'd gone to the Kent farm for dinner and then met Clark and dropped hints. It was on the way back to Metropolis and Supes showed up and hinted back. Here though, Superman had told him so he knew. He just...doesn't know if Kyle knows...Secret identities, ugh.

"On a farm and I do some heavy lifting as well. Equipment, boxes, that sort of thing."

So basically the stuff he would be doing in the future on the Kent farm.

'Oh.' Well that didn't sound too different from what Superman supposedly did on his farm.

Oh to heck with it. 'Ever been to Kansas?'

[tactile_telekinesis]

"A few times. Once by choice as well"

He raises a brow and tilts his head a little.

"Why?"

[imaginate]

This was why Kyle never went for cryptic. He cut to the chase, 'Do you know Superman's secret identity or not?'

[tactile_telekinesis]

"Yeah I know it. Do you know it?"

He guesses he maybe does because, well Kyle asked this after Kon mentioned Clark.

[imaginate]

Kyle heaves a little sigh of relief. 'Yeah. Good.' No mental gymnastics.

[tactile_telekinesis]

"Guess that means tip-toeing doesn't have to happen."

He went a little higher in the air.

"Want to move sector?"

[imaginate]

'Sure.' Kyle looks around for a back alley, checks that no one's in particular is watching, and quickly changes into his uniform before he joins Kon. 'Where're we going?'

[tactile_telekinesis]

When he sees Kyle go off and sees him come back in his uniform, Kon grins big.

"Fire. It looks pretty cool."

He went higher and began to move in the direction of the other sector.

"Not as cool as wood."

[imaginate]

'Lead the way.' He keeps pace with Kon in the air. He hadn't liked what he'd seen of Fire Sector, but going there with someone who knew the place might help change his mind.

[tactile_telekinesis]

Up, up and away. Kon looked to Kyle and grinned before he went faster, dodging the tops of trees as he rolled from side to side. Occasionally he would dive down and weave through the branches before coming back up.

Gradually the trees fell and were replaced by the architecture of Fire with the flames.

"Man, some of the buildings here look tacky."

[imaginate]

Kyle kept pace easily, sometimes speeding ahead. He didn't dive down towards the branches when they passed but he did lower his altitude so Kon wouldn't have to fly so far back up.

He nearly shuddered involuntarily. No matter how he looked at it, Fire Sector was still too closely intertwined with Qward. If only there was another dominant colour around. 'I think they look interesting.'

Here was someone used to Oan architecture, after all.

He wrinkled his nose as he looked at things below and ahead. This really wan't his style. Despite now living in Metropolis, Hawaii was still what he was used to. He shook his head and went down to one of the gargoyles spitting fire.

"If everything was darker and less red, I'd say it was Gotham."

[imaginate]

'Huh. You're right.' He didn't like Gotham either. Something horrible always happened to him in Gotham.

[tactile_telekinesis]

Hey, his first time led to being hooked in by Poison Ivy and all kinds of nasty stuff, so he can't say it's a good place.

"Okay, so this place is more uh, advanced than the Wood sector. Kinda richer too."

[imaginate]

'I noticed. What do people do here?'

[tactile_telekinesis]

"It's a good place to relax I guess, after a hard day of kicking ass. You can get massages here. But it's just kinda like another meh place? Sorta. I guess I'm just spoiled by what we've got at home."

Kon shrugs and and takes him into the more business orientated part.

"There's a few gangs here, so there's always something going on."
