The fact that he’d seen a bright light just before landing in the ocean wasn’t doing much for his confidence either. Kyle considered the possibility that he really and truly might be dead. Being stupid enough to fly headlong into a nuclear explosion did that to you. That, or this was just another crazy Monitor stunt and he was trapped in a pocket dimension, overthinking everything as usual; nevertheless, he didn’t honestly want to consider the possibility that he might not have reached Jason in time. It was funny? No that wasn’t the word. Weird. It was weird, feeling sorry for the Red Hood, of all people. He remembered John’s face all too well when they’d talked about Yrra.
‘Good going Rayner,’ he muttered. ‘This only ever happens to you.’ He sighed. ‘Ring, can you find Donna Troy?’
'LOCATION UNKNOWN.'
‘Ray Palmer?’
'LOCATION UNKNOWN.'
He ran a hand through his hair. He was going to regret the next request, he knew it. ‘What about Jason Todd?’
'AFFIRMATIVE.'
‘Seriously?’ Okay that came out a little more relieved that he would have liked.
He looked outside again. The area was quite open, so he just made himself invisible until he was high enough to see the neighbourhood, after which he was a bright emerald streak in the sky. Kidnapping aside, it didn’t look too bad. Then again, Earth-51 had looked perfect too, and it had been just as quiet. Too quiet, to use the cliche.
They’d locked on to Kyle’s ring before, it was only a matter of time before it happened again. He’d find Jason and get them both out of here - wherever here was.

While there were people he could call for backup here, he still wasn't feeling all that fond of the Bats on the island. He'd rather work alone than listen to their patronizing or have them look at him suspiciously because they thought he was going to go and kill someone. Honestly, attitudes like the younger Dick's made him want to go and cause some real trouble. But for now, it wasn't worth the hassle. Today was going to be a day of rest and what better way to rest than to try a few local brews? Jay was dressed in casual clothes and on his way to a local bar.

It looked like Jason all right. 'It had better be you, Todd,' Kyle muttered to himself, before dropping directly in front of Jason.

Jack.
Kyle closed his eyes, focusing on the image of his mother, and drifted a little.

So far, the evening is normal and uneventful. Until he sees that flash of green out of the corner of his eye. A Green Lantern? But it's definitely not one of the three Earth lanterns he knows. He seems disoriented-- maybe he's new. Robin definitely would've heard about a GL in Keeliai.
Feel that feeling of being watched, Kyle? Because you're now being observed. And possibly even followed.
no subject
He's never been terribly good at realising he's being followed, especially by a Bat.

It wasn't that it felt like a dream, she thought. More like a story she had made up in her head.
She liked walking, but when she saw someone flying (and she often found herself looking to the sky, letting her mind wander) her interest was piqued. She floated quietly upward to greet the stranger.
He was wearing a mask. Did that mean he was a 'superhero'?
"Hello."

It doesn't take her long until she's gotten a few yards in front of him, perched on the edge of a roof for a moment before she fires off the grapple and swings between buildings, landing on an opposite edge, assuming that'll be enough to get his attention.
Because saying 'hi' is for boring people.

Either way, she was a Bat, not an entirely unwelcome sight. He hoped she was one of the nice ones. Kyle flew towards her. 'Am I supposed to know you?'

The weather was not, in fact, beautiful summer. It was raining and chilly, the way it would, every so often, go on Tu Vishan. Winter in the middle of the ocean and everything.
It was almost better, under the trees. Until a leaf or something turned and dropped its water contents right in the back of Bucky's neck.
Hardened soldier and all? He couldn't help actually jumping a little and yelping. That was cold.

Or talk to himself, if that turned out to be the case.

Re: wood; open
It was on his way back to his suite when he noticed someone that, to him at least, kinda looked new. It wasn't anyone he'd seen over the network, not that he remembered everyone, some people were just so boring. Since Kon was such a nice guy and everything, he dropped down so his feet actually touched the ground.
"Newbie ahoy!"
Hey there Kyle! Have Superboy straight out of the nighties and looking like it. He ooks slightly confused because this guy here? Very, very familiar. Maybe he wasn't a newbie afterall?

Was that... 'Superboy?'

There was no hiding that expression of shock. He'd seen strange things today but this really took the cake. A Leaguer, like him, shrunk. 'Zatanna?'

There was Jason, but it didn’t feel the same if he couldn’t just tap his ring and rag on Salaak a little.
He shoved his hands into his pockets, hunched his shoulders, and looked for the apartment building he’d been assigned to.
