Dick grins, like Kyle is the first one to get it. (He's not, but very few people get it on the first try.)

"Exactly!"

[imaginate]

'So, how else have you butchered the English language?' This is followed by a smile that says I am your padawan; teach me all you know.

"Lesson number one: it's not butchering, it's reinventing. It's all about economizing."

Oh he will, young padawan.

[imaginate]

'So, which other prefixes and suffixes and ixes are we going to drop for economy's sake?'

[hackingyoursensors]

"No, you don't just drop them. You repurpose them."

Geez, Kyle, keep up.

[imaginate]

'Fine, but you've gotta give me more to work with. You only said whelmed.' Keeping up with a Bat was hard. A Robin? Probably harder.

"Well like... wouldn't the opposite of 'denial' be 're-nial'?"

He may be about 90% serious.

[imaginate]

'And the opposite of disdain just be... dain?' Kyle can tell this one is going to be his favourite Bat (bird)?

"Now you're getting it."

Kyle is kind of the coolest GL he's met. Hal and John are cool in the badass GL way but Kyle is cool in a big brother kind of way.

[imaginate]

Kyle looked around - the wind was great - wondered what else he could repurpose. 'Oh, I've got another one. Disconcerted.'

"Nice. Already thought of that one, but nice."

[imaginate]

'Sure I'll think of more later.' They were leaving Metal, and heading to Water. Kyle glanced down, taking in the landmarks. It was familiar, somehow. 'All right, where are we now?'

"Water sector. They're not too creative with names here. And, believe it or not, there's virtually no crime here. It's like the anti-Gotham."

He's still wrapping his head around the 'no crime' part.

[imaginate]

'No crime?' Even Kyle's shocked. 'Seriously? Don't they haul people up for - I don't know - calling names?'

"Nope. They're so mellow that it's almost creepy."

[imaginate]

'Huh.' Well, that was nice; Kyle would have liked to live in Water Sector - actually, he was pretty sure he did, as he recognised the landmarks. 'I think I live there,' he said, pointing to 1A as they passed over it.

"Nice digs. Have you checked them out yet?"

The laid-back atmosphere seemed to suit what he's seen so far of Kyle. Though nothing is cooler than Wood. Not that he's biased.

[imaginate]

'Not yet - had to find out what this place was first.' He had gone looking for Jason first, and as usual, was thoroughly unimpressed by the ex-Robin. Plus, the kedan had seen him in uniform, so he hadn't been in a hurry to stick around where they could find him. Although that was pretty much a moot point now. It was really, really hard to miss a glowing green flying person. 'Don't suppose you'll tell me where you stay?'

Kyle already knows his secret ID, so there's really not much stopping him from actually finding out where Dick lives.

"Wood sector."

Hey, he'd give you a clue, not a precise location.

[imaginate]

Just as Dick says that, they cross over into Wood, and Kyle looks utterly delighted at all the trees and greenery. It feels like a home in a way, because he misses his jaunts on Mogo. He foresees spending a lot of time in Wood Sector, just enjoying the atmosphere.

'Wow.' Despite all the wonders in the universe - or perhaps because there were so many wonders in the universe - Kyle has no shame openly appreciating one when he finds it.

Dick grins.

"That's what I said. Living in a literal tree house? So cool."

It's like Wood was made for him.

[imaginate]

'Yeah, no kidding!' (Kyle was secretly twelve.)

They finally fly back over Fire Sector and Kyle looks around for the roof where he originally found Dick, assuming that the Robin had been on a mission of some sort before being diverted. 'Here's your stop?'

"First class service, thanks."

He gets out, though he'll probably just go home after another quick patrol. (You're crazy if you think he didn't set a bug for the gang members he'd been staking out before he left. He'll be reviewing that when he gets home.)

"Think you can manage from here?"

[imaginate]

The construct vanishes, and Kyle smiles and nods. 'Thanks for flying, we hope to see you again soon.'

Dick gives Kyle a little wave before practically disappearing.

At least he has the manners to say goodbye.
