'Paintball?' he offered. There was plenty of space to hide, too.

...actually, that wasn't a bad idea.

"You know, if we could find a place that sells the equipment, you could."

Kyle quickly checked to see that no one was looking, ringed up a small green paintball gun, and then let it fade. He grinned wickedly. 'Or we could make our own.'

"We could."

She could've summoned one right there and then, but hers took a little more effort than a simple construct. Besides, he obviously already knew she was capable.

"I'll mention it to the others next time I see them."

'Sounds like a plan.' He walked abreast of her now, looking curiously at what was around them. 'What controls the weather around here?'

It was almost too easy to answer 'magic'. She didn't have an actual answer, either, but she shrugged instead.

"Far as I know? Nature."

[imaginate]

That was a surprising answer. 'Not magic?'

"I honestly have no idea. This whole place is filled with it, and I can only sense when magic's being really heavily used. Not what it's actually being used for."

He thought that was worrying, especially since some of his ring's abilities weren't working. It felt wrong not being able to contact Oa.

'So, where to now?'

"Up to you, really. Pick a Sector."

[imaginate]

'Anything good to do in Earth Sector?' He'd liked what he'd seen and hadn't had much time to explore it.

"That's usually where I go clothes shopping. That, and check out all the cool statues." The entire sector was practically covered in them; it was easily one of the more textile-oriented and sculpting areas.

[imaginate]

Kyle looked at his civvies. He'd ringed them up in a hurry, and that would be using up power from the ring, which he had to conserve. He nearly groaned. 'I'm gonna need new clothes. Do you mind taking me?'

"Of course not." She wasn't exactly addicted to shopping, like some teenaged girls, but she would never say not to an impromptu trip. "It's just two sectors over. Should we walk or fly?"

The second option would be her first instinct, to save on time. It was Kyle's decision, though, depending upon whether or not he was trying to remain incognito for the time being.

Flying was quicker, but he didn't know how many people had seen them together already - and anyway he had to go shopping as himself, not GL. 'Might be better to walk - if we fly, you'll have to carry us both.'

"I could." Just for the record.

A few passengers wasn't enough to really drain her. Any more than that might've been questionable, but if it was just her and Kyle? No problem.

'Oh, okay then. Do your thing.'

Zatanna's magic was hardly a secret, and so she had no issues casting the spell right there and then. The ground beneath them began to glow, lines taking the shape of a circle nine feet in diameter. Various symbols glowing within. The light itself then emerged from the ground, lifting them both into the air.

"Please keep your hands and feet inside the circle at all times." She smirked at him, before adding: "...no, seriously. If you break the circle, we could both fall."

He obeyed; he had never actually travelled like this before; it was extremely enjoyable, it showed on his face. Hal had always told him he had fight but no thrill - that was fine. He could learn thrill one step at a time.

Admittedly, there were more thrilling ways to travel than being floated over Keelai. Grapping hook was gradually becoming one of her favorites, but that was a different story altogether. The wind was fairly calm at the moment, though the higher elevation still left a strong breeze blowing through her hair. It felt good.

They landed a few minutes later without incident, save for a few sparse glances from the population.

"Well, what do you think?"

About both Air Zatanna, and the Sector as a whole.

'In-flight entertainment's not much, but I'm definitely travelling again.' He smiled as he looked at the sector again, enjoying some of the detail that had gone into the statues, before he looked at her. 'Okay. Lead the way.'

Everyone's a critic.

"I'll see if I can bring a DVD or something next time." She rolled her eyes, before jerking her head down one particular street. "This way. We can start by peeking in all the windows. Soon as you see something you like, we can go from there." Since she had very little idea of what his tastes in clothing were like.

Kyle wasn't extremely fussy. He usually wore a shirt and jeans, occasionally with a jacket if it was colder. At the very least he just needed something that didn't make him stick out too much, and was cheap. 'What do people use for money around here?'

"They've got their own system." As she walked, she held up one hand, summoning a small drawstring bag. Opening it, she turned it upside-down until a few metallic coins fell out. "If you don't have any of your own right now, you're welcome to borrow. Since I know where you live and all."

Working two jobs left her with a bit of extra change to spare. And she trusted him to pay her back in time.

Kyle looked at the coins, recognising them. 'They gave me a couple of those, but I don't have them right now - I'll pay you back as soon as I get a job.' That sounded weird. Get a job, like he actually intended to stay here, form a life here. But he was stuck for the foreseeable future and he might as well make the best of his circumstances.
