Kyle nearly jumped out of his skin. Whoa, he was glad he hadn't been spotted changing into his civilian clothes, and he turned around to look reproachfully at whoever had scared him and his jaw dropped.

Was that... 'Superboy?'

Kon had his hands on his hips and leaned forward slightly to look over Kyle. There was definitely something about this guy that rang a few bells. Give him a few minutes and he pulls back with a grin. That's who it was!

"Dude! Hey! When did you get here?"

Oh boy, was that 'Superboy', ha. Run.

'Uh.. just a couple of hours ago.' He grinned and rubbed his neck with one hand, the GL ring clearly visible. This was Happy Funtime Superboy, not I'm Going To Kill You All Superboy-Prime. Small mercies. 'How long have you been here?'

"Seriously? That's so cool! Well, it is but it isn't at the same time, cause you're stuck here."

He remembered how he'd hung out with Kyle very briefly, but an impression had been made and he liked the guy, he was good to talk to and easy. Kon felt happy he was here despite not really knowing him too well.

"Me? Aw man, too long. A few months I think."

'Yeah about that. Did you try flying away?' Kyle hadn't, but he'd rather check with someone else before he tried to and ended up a bug on somebody's proverbial windscreen. He didn't know how they were kept here. 'I was... kind of saving the universe and this detour is inconvenient.'

He just stares at him for a few seconds with one brow arched up. Did he seriously ask that?

"It was like, the first thing I tried to do. Me and a friend tried to fly away, then she tried to swim. You black out at some point and bam, back the same way you were when they brought you on the cart."

Kon shrugs and smiles a little bit.

"There should be a club for the universe savers. Things are...we haven't found a way yet."

Yet because he was determined to get back somehow. Sometime.

Kyle pinches the bridge of his nose. 'Crap.' It wasn't like he'd die if he tried to leave, but that didn't sound entirely appealing either. He could try focusing harder - his willpower was stronger than Kon's, after all.

'Yeah... yeah,' he pushes it out of his mind, trying to relax and not think about what must be happening to Donna and Palmer, out there. 'So, you gonna give me the tour or what?'

"Tip for ya, try not think of the bad stuff that was happening. You can't do anything about it now and it's completely frozen back home. Well...that's what they say anyway."

Worrying about home would be enough to drive people insane, especially the people from his world. He might not be in a life or death situation for once, but...he just wanted people to try stay calm.

He smiles and nods at the question and lifts off the ground, floating a few inches off the ground.

"Welcome to the Wood sector. It's awesome cause I live here."

'Nice place. I'm in.. that area with a lot of fountains.' Kyle follows. He'll keep to civvies unless Kon picks up speed, in which case it will be a full Lantern versus Super tree-race showdown. Kyle did need something to keep his mind off the worrying.

"That's water. I guess it's okay. Only really go there to meet friends or something. Crime in this sector's really low, so it's nice but, you gotta go out far to find anything worth checking out."

Mention it, and he will so pick up the speed and race. But right now he's hovering and telling Kyle about Wood and Water sectors and what he actually knows about them.

'Crime? What kind of crime?' Kyle tilts his head a little. He's only seen those slightly bluish people around and he's not aware of the culture.

"No supervillians, but we have gang activity spread over the turtle. That's always fun to break up I guess. It's pretty petty, but the kedan are stronger than normal humans, so it's interesting. Sometimes big stuff shows up though."

He left out the part about the war because it was old news, but the gangs were there. If another broke out, they had a good guy on their side.

Kyle nodded. He'd heard about the gangs. 'What kind of "big stuff"?'

"We hit mainland couple of months back I think? That place was insane. Total wasteland, burnt everything and monsters. Fast ones. Avoided them, dunno how viscous they were, didn't really want to find out. Big storms and stuff."

Kon gave a shrug and once they got to the small shopping and cafe area, he pointed places out.

"There's some cool people here."

Kyle raised both eyebrows, processing this information. Fine, it wasn't actually that terrifying to him because it sounded exactly like what he'd find out in space. Maybe with less dragons. His gaze followed where Kon pointed, taking in the sights. 'What's that?' he asked, when Kon gestured to one of the console cafes.

"It's like a lame version of an internet cafe. There's the consoles there from our suites, but we can go anon here and reply anon as well."

Kon hadn't used them before, he didn't see the need for it. Everyone knew who he was and well, he was always open about what he had to say. He told Kyle about how on the mainland, your power seemed to get zapped from you the further out you went.

"So, it's pretty hard to tell what's going to happen next."

'I saw those - too Myspace.' He'd been very confused by the network posts and decided to just ignore them in favour of finding Jason. The anonymous ones looked reasonable for when he wanted to post as a GL, he supposed.

The mainland, now that didn't sound appealing at all. He glanced at his ring worriedly.

"Myspace?" He shakes his head because nevermind, it's obviously a future thing like Twitter. "It's how everyone talks to people, we can either go by video, voice or text. Text and voice are boring, I mean why would I use them? Some people have really boring stuff to say though. Anon I can understand, not everyone is like me and has no secret ID."

Kon saw him look at his ring and offered a smile.

"It's all pretty gradual. Oh! But there is a guy here that can make your powers stop just by standing near you. He's the head of the police, kinda a bit of a dick but, he's doing what he's doing."

Kon has had a bad run in with him before. Wasn't fun.

'Dude it's like--' oh. Hm. Kon was from the past, which seemed like an age ago for Kyle. '--never mind. That fad passed really quickly.' He pursed his lips slightly when he heard about the chief of police. 'Not out to make fans, is he?'

It was frustrating when people were from so far into the future that they knew someone else entirely. So far, Kon knew that the people from his universe, were all at least several years into his future. Not months or a year, but a few years.

"I know what Twitter is? Someone told me about that."

He scoffs and shakes his head.

"Nope. Took me in for breaking curfew and refusing to leave an area. I was trying to help after the whole gang disaster. I think he'd rather we just did nothing and let the police deal with everything. But they messed with us, so hell no."

'It's overrated too.' Kyle had honestly not kept up with social media; that had been Terry's job, and anyway Kyle had spent the majority of the past year in space. It was just disconcerting making a reference that nobody would get, like what happened with Kara. 'Glad I missed that party.'

"I dunno, I think I'd be all over that stuff if we had it now. I mean, I've got the fan pages and chatrooms, but that's not really the same when you hear about this sort of thing."

He would understand, some people here seemed to be too young to remember the things he's just gone through and would stare at him at the references. Kon nods at that.

"Wish I did. But hey, there's probably gonna be loads of chances to do stuff here."

Kyle shrugged. 'Let's just say you can't really tweet from the Watchtower.' It made monitor duty unbearable. Luckily Kyle always had a fully charged ring and never got bored of paddleball.

'What have you been doing?' Since the last time he'd seen Kon like this, there'd been a crowd of adoring fans. It was a little strange without them, Kyle had to admit.

"Really? You'd think you'd be able to. Total suckage."

Kon actually thinks on that for a moment and, well it's nothing like home. He's the same guy but he doesn't have the people here for it. He shrugs.

"I've been working and hanging out. Going to any party that gets thrown up. Being a teen means I get to go to more, so it's pretty sweet. There's no SB fanclub here, so taking it easy on that front."

'The guys on the way here told me I had to work.' They'd said it to him in costume, presumably Green Lantern was more useful to them than Kyle Rayner. 'Is there a newspaper or a bulletin board for jobhunters or something?'
