"I was probably dating him then," Since her and Tim were together for a lot of his time as Robin, ignoring the year or so she was dead. She isn't too bothered by him not knowing her, considering she rarely leaves Gotham and Lanterns rarely come in. But she does offer her hand to shake, "It's Batgirl, now. If that wasn't obvious."

He raises his eyebrows but doesn't press the matter. Whatever they do is their business, really.

He shakes her hand warmly. 'Green Lantern.' Then he looks at himself. 'Er - that's obvious. Sorry. Kyle Rayner, if you didn't already know.'

"You are like fifty different kinds of too trusting," This either means more or less, coming from a Bat, "Do you know Harley Quinn spent a day running around as Batgirl? It's not too hard to put on a costume and pretend to be someone you're not."

Just saying.

She's spent way too much time with Bruce.

Oops. Kyle nearly smiled sheepishly. Well, in his defence, Bats were far too paranoid (and that wasn't really much of a defence at all). 'Yeah, but you wouldn't have known Tim if you were fake, would you? And--' he made a vague gesture towards the belt and costume. 'Not everybody has those.' He could have scanned it with the ring, but it looked real enough.

"I could've been lying," She's feeling a little more paranoid about identities after her conversation with Vic and Santo.

Though she's not being too much of a Bat, since she raises her eyebrows at him, the gesture visible in the way her cowl moves, "Those?"

Excuse you Kyle what are you gesturing at.

... Crap. 'I meant the belt.' Great, now she wouldn't believe him and think he was being creepy. Great job, Rayner. You make wonderful first impressions.

He paused briefly and tilted his head slightly. 'But you aren't. Lying, that is.'

That gets a laugh, as she waves a hand to dismiss the whole thing. She knew exactly what he meant, she's just messing with him because it's far too easy and fun to mess with boys.

She sombers up a little at the question (though she's still smiling), tilting her head right back, "How d'you know?" It's probably the ring.

'The ring,' he answers, almost reflexively. Good that she's laughing - but probably only because he just made a right fool of himself. Ah well. There were worse things.

"Does it work like a lie detector?" Genuine curiosity, since there's also things like Diana's lasso, which is entirely different from a lie detector.

But there's also something in her tone that suggests she's going somewhere with this line of inquiry.

'No, but it can read your mind,' he says, half-jokingly.

Her eyes narrow, regarding him carefully as she tries to work out if he's kidding, and she makes sure to keep her thoughts focused on the conversation at hand.

"It better not be."

It's not even a Bat thing, she just doesn't want things in her head.

He didn't actually honestly know if it could. He'd been able to, as Ion, which theoretically meant it could, but honestly, he hadn't really used it much, except to peer into his father's memories. That had worked out brilliantly.

Anyway, this situation needed defusing. He lands on the roof next to her and offers a smile. 'You're not lying, though. You'd have at least tried to take the ring or monologue at me by now.'

"And you're not very good at answering questions," But her expression's relaxed a little, even if she's still regarding him carefully.

"I could be waiting to see if you'll spill more names. Don't happen to know Batman's, do you?"

She actually has no idea if Kyle would know Bruce's identity, she doesn't pay attention to that stuff.

He gives her a curious look. Man, he'd long since left the Junior Leaguer title behind. 'Well my identity's mine to give.' Considering he introduced himself to most of the people in space whom he served.

He doesn't know if Bruce would have shared his identity with her, he wouldn't be surprised if that wasn't the case. It had taken that entire mess with Ra's al Ghul for the Big Two to share their secret IDs with the League.

"That's a good answer," Gold star, "Still might want to be careful about using Robin's first name." Tim isn't Robin anymore, but... timelines, so she'll refer to him like that if it's how Kyle knows him.

[imaginate]

Kyle nods. 'He's not Robin anymore, is he?' Then, he quickly qualifies that, 'Sorry, I don't really keep up with how many of you there are.'

[controlledvariable]

"Red Robin, now," He'll find that out for himself if he runs into Tim here, and it's not giving away very much information, "There's only been five Robins, and three Batgirls. It's not that hard to keep up."

She's smiling, a little teasing, and although she is very firmly not thinking about secret identity things just in case he wasn't joking about the reading minds thing, she's mostly stopped freaking out about it.

Red Robin? Kyle's face betrays his surprise. That was... that was Jason's name, back on the Earth they'd been visiting before coming to Tu Vishan. He made a mental note to ask Jason about it later. 'Well, there's only four Lanterns, but you knew that.'

Steph notes the surprise, and she knows the reason behind it, but if Kyle's going to ask about it, she'll let him do it in his own time.

"Isn't there a whole corps of you guys?" Admittedly she's unlikely to ever meet the ones not based on Earth, but that's not the point.

[imaginate]

'Yeah, there is - but I meant Earth.' Since she was unlikely to ever meet any other Lantern, unless the Emperor saw fit to bring them here. He really, really hoped that wouldn't be the case.

"Are they easier to remember than a few bats and birds?" She's teasing, evident by the tone of her voice and the way she's smirking at him.

[imaginate]

'I do see them more often.' He smiles back. And it was also the fact that they all already knew Kyle Rayner from his Ion days and spent time in the mess hall together.

She taps a finger against her lips, as if thinking over his answer, "I'll take that," How magnanimous of you, Steph.

"You might have to pick up your game, though, we've got two Robins and two Batgirls running around at the moment," She doesn't think there's much harm in telling Kyle who all is here (except for Bruce, she'll leave that up to him) since he's likely to run into them sooner or later.

'Yeah, I met Pint Size Nightwing.' That was still weird. The other two, he probably didn't know, but he was hopeful about one person. 'Is Oracle here?'

[controlledvariable]

"You get used to it," Pint Sized Nightwing is a good description, because Steph refuses to put adjectives in front of Dick's first name (she's not very mature). But she shakes her head at the question, "I wish, my life would improve dramatically."

Babs is the best. Even if Steph is aware that Babs would probably spend most of the time teasing her, it'd be worth it.
