She shifts her grip on the bags, offering him a couple. "Well, that's a start..." She inclines her head in the direction of the foreigner suites and starts off in that direction - she moves slowly enough with the cane that he'll have no trouble keeping pace with her, but she still moves with the easy confidence of someone used to leading the way.

"Thank you. My name's Olivia, by the way."

He takes the bags and keeps pace with her, he's used to following when someone else is clearly in the lead. 'Kyle. Nice to meet you. Been here long?'

"Ah... About four months now?" She grimaces a little, shaking her head. "It doesn't seem like it could possibly be that long, honestly. It's weird how you get used to things."

[imaginate]

'That's' --very worrying-- 'a long time. How do people leave?'

[nolimitation]

"That's a little unclear." And something that's been bothering her, to be honest, and it's only lack of resources and the bum knee that's been keeping her from digging into the problem however she can. "I've heard people do go home, but... I don't exactly think it's voluntary. People have only ever disappeared suddenly, they don't tell their friends, they leave their things behind..."

Maybe not the most encouraging thing to say to a newcomer, but Olivia believes in fair warning and all.

'Sounds like we have much of a choice leaving as we do coming,' Kyle falls a little quiet, thinking. In that case, he or Jason could disappear any moment, which wasn't a comforting thought, but on the other hand, Donna might show up. Admittedly that was even less comforting. He didn't want her trapped here.

"That's about right," she sighs. "If it helps, if what they've told us is true, we're not missing anything back home while we're here. It's not much consolation, but..."

It helps her, at least a little. Sure, she's not sure if she believes it entirely, but she can at least hope.

[imaginate]

'It'll do for now, I guess.' He'd always kept hope, when he could, and tried not to worry about things that he had no influence over. He just wasn't used to having zero ability to change these sort of things. If he'd only still been Ion...

He points to one of the foreigner residences as they near it. 'Is that where you live?'

"It is," Olivia answers with a nod, and tilts her head a little as she glances over at Kyle. "I hope things around here are looking a little more familiar to you?"

'They are,' Kyle points to building 1A. 'I think that one's it, but I'll walk you to your door, if that's okay?'

[nolimitation]

"I'd appreciate that." There's real gratitude in her smile as she leads the way to to her door, pausing and juggling groceries and cane for a moment until she can fish her key out of a pocket. "If you need anything, or you have questions, you're welcome to come by and ask any time you like. I'd be happy to help."

[imaginate]

'I'm sure I'll have some soon enough. This kind of thing doesn't really happen to me...' He trails off. Well, it's a half-lie. He was used to being kidnapped, he wasn't used to being kidnapped and sent to Discworld.

As Olivia juggles her bags Kyle instinctively holds out a hand, wordlessly offering to take the rest of her shopping bags briefly so she can reach her key. If she's observant, she'll spot a very distinctive green ring on his right hand.

Olivia lets him take the bags with a grateful smile. She notes the ring as she does, her eyes flicking to it - it's unusual, but she doesn't recognize it, and it's hardly the strangest thing among the people here.

"Well, you know where to find me. I can imagine how confusing all this must be. It wasn't all that long ago this sort of thing didn't happen to me either."

Kyle tends not to notice when people look at his ring: most of them assume he's just an enthusiastic fan, not an actual superhero. He focuses on balancing the bags properly as there might be fragile items or easily crushed fruit.

'I'll be sure to call if I need anything, but like you said earlier, people can get used to the weirdest stuff.'
