February Catch-All
Characters: Obi-Wan Kenobi and YOU!
Date: All of February
Location: Keeliai and Tavimbi
Situation: Getting to know you and Landfall!
Warnings/Rating: None that I can think of?
Obi-Wan is still somewhat adjusting to things here on Keeliai. So the fact that the giant turtle makes landfall on a continent is surprising and piques his curiosity.
He can be found either wandering around the streets of Keeliai or Tavimbi. Willing to talk to just about anybody. Especially the Kedan and the Tavimbi natives.
Upon sensing a power that is not unlike the Force within Tavimbi, which he comes to know as the Xunutane, he will make checking that out his highest priority.
Feel free to find him just about anywhere!

He looked expectant, as if he was hoping she might explain.

(Except maybe Ganthet. Maybe.)
But that still left things she could divulge. Personal aspects that did not endanger her or her colleagues in any fashion.
"What you sense is the Green Energy that has given be life." In demonstration, she held up a hand, and allowed the light to emerge from it. "Most Lanterns are recruited and given a ring that contains this power. I was born from it, and as such, it is as much a part of me as my soul."
no subject
"Green Energy? What does it come from? And what do you mean by Lantern?"
There's still much he has to learn about this place and the others that are trapped here with him. But Obi-Wan has always been the studious sort and is quite interested in learning everything that he can.
no subject
With regards to the origins of Green Energy, at least.
"What I can tell you is that it is a source of power that was granted to those deemed worthy by the Guardians of Oa. Those who bear the title of Green Lantern are part of a great, intergalactic force that serves to protect those who cannot properly protect themselves."
no subject
And he really does. Some things are just not meant to be shared with others. Obi-Wan knows that sort of position all too well. But what she does tell him continues to pique his curiosity.
"So they are peacekeepers then. The Jedi are not all that different."
no subject
If they were as similar as preliminary evidence suggested, then there were, perhaps, aspects that he was not at liberty to disclose, either. Still...anything he could offer on them would be most appreciated.
no subject
Or... well. They did. It's still difficult to think how their Order had been slain practically over night. By their very enemy that hid right under their noses.
no subject
"Is there another side to this Force?"
no subject
Talking about the dark side, especially after all that's happened, is difficult.
no subject
"That sounds very similar to those who wield Red Lantern energy."
And yet...behind the cool, serene tone was a strange semblance of...fondness?
no subject
"It seems red is the universal colors for such emotions. Those who use the dark side typically use red lightsabers."
no subject
"It would appear our organizations share similar associations along the Emotional Spectrum."
no subject
There is certainly a big difference, and he didn't want to give Aya the misunderstanding that the Jedi and Sith were the same.
no subject
Too lateAs Obi-Wan would soon come to learn, interestingly enough, the Emotional Spectrum was one of the few areas in which Aya was almost no longer capable of seeing things in black and white...(Or, in this case, Red and Green.)
"That is often how Red Lanterns are seen. However...I have known at least one who had come to desire a way to better channel his Anger and Rage." There was that fondness again. "The last time we spoke, he had been making great strides in using his Red Lantern abilities for good."
no subject
But its clear that Aya is fond of this person she was speaking of. Its really quite curious, though it would seem that not everything is similar between their two lines of understanding.

W O W.
Aya was familiar with the term flashback, but had never experienced such an abrupt phenomenon as when Obi-Wan spoke those words. So painfully similar to sentiments that had been expressed by the Guardians multiple times in the past, not the least of which was when Scar had attempted to shut her down for good.
"My creator seemed to believe something similar. Enough that...once I had begun to experience emotions for myself, I was deemed too unstable."
no subject
"Emotions are a natural part of life," he said quietly, his voice tinged with remorse. "It's how we use them that makes the difference. While I've never seen anger or hate used for good, I would like to believe that it could be."
no subject
She sounded absolutely certain. Definitive. Because she possessed experience that, it seemed, Obi-Wan did not.
"I was...injured in battle." Though that was a relative description of what happened. She'd been attacked by a Manhunter, but did not feel physical pain, and thus was more momentarily stunned by the attack than anything. "It was Razer's rage in seeing my physical form in that condition that allowed him to expel such Rage that he was able to overcome the Blue Lantern's dampening powers on his Red Lantern energy. He used that Rage to defeat the one who hurt me."
no subject
"He was angry because he cared for you. Yes, it is good that he came to your aid. However, it sounds to me that his rage and anger stemmed from a fear of losing you. This is often how many find themselves going down the wrong path. That is why Jedi forsake any attachments to things or people."
The road to hell is paved with good intentions so to speak.
no subject
"Your logic is flawed. It was, in fact, Razer's...connection..." (for lack of the ability for her to accurately define what they had) "...to both myself as well as my fellow Green Lanterns that allowed him to travel the right path."
...granted, it was also the pain of loss that had led him to receive a ring in the first place, but Aya only knew of those circumstances through Razer's memories.
no subject
"Well, then I suppose we'll just have to agree to disagree. I only have a vague understanding of how things work in your world."
He only knew how things tended to go in his own.
no subject
Though she was not overly happy about it.
no subject
"I must admit, the similarities between are two worlds is rather fascinating. I am grateful that you've shared information with me."
